Wow, you did a beautiful job with the colour scheme, perfectly matching the blue accents- I especially like the seat piping, and safety wired blue bits on the engine. The carbon fiber fairing pieces are a really nice touch as well. I hate the asymmetrical headlight design though! I only ever buy bikes with headlights like my duc 916, and my 08R1- the dual slanted lights (I also have a zrx1200r, but that's the exception because it's modeled after an 80's superbike eddie lawson replica) Since you've extensively modded your hp4, If I were you, I'd have a custom front fairing and headlight setup to make it a dual slanted headlight to get rid of the round light.. It would only cost a few grand to have a custom fairing designed and produced in carbon.. Then you'd have a true custom bike! But even if you dont, you still have the nicest hp4 I've seen yet. Great work
I purchased the 'standard' edition HP4 which didn't come with carbon fiber fairings. I've owned HP carbon fiber fairing since 2010 when I purchased my S1000RR. I transferred all of the carbon fiber parts, including the short lower fairing onto my HP4 and had the wheels painted blue. I prefer the short lower fairing because it exposes the titanium exhaust and it's beautiful blueish colour.
IB, I noticed your sag adjustment on front fork is way out compared to mine. I weigh about 230 and my adjustment plug is screwed all the way in for proper sag, did you set sag on this bike yet? How much do you weigh? Just noticed, not trying to get personal, thanks.
Im planning on switching my chain and sprocket with 520! I have an hp4 too! Is vortex sprocket the best one you put on so far and do you prefer did over 3D chain?

The BST carbon fiber wheels didn't work with the HP4's Brembo brakes. I sold them to my buddy David and he has them on his 2012 black S1000RR. There's a video of it on my channel.

I just got a 2014 HP4 and the only thing that bothers me is the vibration in the handle bars. It looks like you have heavier ends, does that help? P.S. Where did you get that helmet too? Did you add that carbon fiber over the frame part as well?

Do you have the part numbers for the rizoma bits, carbon frame guards and fender eliminator/plate light? All exactly what I would like to do to my HP4.
Did you have to replace your right side foot peg to install your exhaust? all the HP4 do not have the hole there on the foot peg to hang the pipe from. I know my bike doesn't have it.
Hi there. We determined the HP4 rear sets are different from the HP rear sets. The rear sets on my bike were purchased in 2010 and they're 1st gen HP rear sets. I didnt have to drill holes into them. I hope this helps.
Yes, I was stopped by the police and issued a warning for it. The officer said that when I'm seated on the bike, he can't read the license plate because the bike sag's and covers the license plate. He thanked me for pulling over and not evading him and issued me a warning.

Ib did you used a resistor for your rear light unit for the integrated turn signals ? I bought a 2012 S1000rr and the previous owner placed the same combination that you have on your HP4 but, my turn signals are blinking too fast. Also I get a ! LAMP error on my dash.
No Sir. You don't need resistors for the hp4/s1000rr because the ecu was programmed to use incandescent or led turn signals. I think you should remove the resistors and see if that resolves your issue.
I currently own a new 2012 ZX-10R and after seeing the new 2013 HP4 I now want one. Though they are limited, there is a 2014 coming into one of the dealerships. Since its a BMW, is it expensive to repair? They are expensive as it is to purchase. Are they really worth it?

Hello there. I didn't think S1000R owners would care about having integrated turn signals in their taillight. I think it's great to have and you should do it. I haven't had any issues with my unit, it works GREAT! It works just like stock.
Gahh I wish I woulda known about the rizoma case savers sooner. I'll have to add those to my list. I do like how you mismatched colors on both sides. It flows with the engineering design of the fairings. Nice touch. The Fender eliminator is clean, though I wonder if the license plate ever hits the swingarm under hard/fast compression of the rear? Also, what's your cleaning method for the bike? I generally don't like to use water on a bike so I use detailer spray and a wax every now and then.
Hello there. My buddy David painted my wheels and he can paint yours if you remove the hub and carrier and ship them to him. You can also get them painted at a local shop near you. They can scan your fairings and get the exact color code or you can get it from your BMW dealer. David scanned my fairing and the wheels turned out great.
ibsabur Thanks I would rather someone who has already been able to match the color and had a good result. I've heard to many horror stories in the S1000 blog. The best results I've seen was the west coast it has something to do with the atmosphere I think. I see your up in Ohio. Was David able to save the etching HP4 on the rims?
David had to sand the wheels down by hand and when he did that, the HP4 logo was removed. Yes, we're in Cleveland, OH. Email me and I will give you his contact info.

Hello I was wondering how did you get your carbon fiber frame covers on I have been trying to use double sides tape but it seems as if it doesnt fit the frame properly. If you could give me any information helping me with it that would be great.
Hello there...I read on the S1000RR forum that people were having issues keeping the carbon fiber frame guard stuck to the frame. Someone suggested adding more 3M double sided tape and that's what I did and it worked for me. Add 10 or so strips of 3M double sided tape to each side of the frame and you're all set.
Thanks for the reply. The only thing i was having problems with is, that it seems as if the guard is mis shaped like when ever the bottom of the guard goes on the frame the top pops off same thing as if I was to push the top on the bottom falls off. I called Bestem today and they told me this wasnt the first time they have heard of this happening. I shipped them back and i was told that they were going to get me a new set. I had a lot of tape on it when i tried but was still having a problem. I have the BMW HP 4 2014. I dont think they changed the seize of the frame on it. I have gotten a couple of other parts and everything seems to fit fine. If you have any other tips on what i should try before I ship them bac to get new ones please let me know. Again thank you for the reply. Oh yea and Very nice ducati . I watched your other video with you comparing them and wanted to know what one has more horse power ?
One more thing i wanted to ask is how was it getting the inspection sticker with the integrated turn signals in the brake light. I was asking my BMW manufacture to install mine and they were giving me a bunch of crap how its illegal I guess, I used to have one on my R1 and they didnt give me a problem. I live in the state M.A and it has never been a problem before...
FALTUS89 We will have a Dyno shoot out with both bikes in the next 2 weeks. I think the Panigale R will produce more HP but stay tuned. I ordered my carbon fiber frame guard from hardracing. I haven't had an issue with fit and finish. I wonder if Bestem is different than the Ilmberger carbon fiber guard that I ordered from the link below. On such a extremely fine tuned and electronically advanced bike you do not simply change the exhaust. The motor mapping is programmed for the akrapovic.

I have an HP4 Carbon/Competition too. I'd imagine Ibsabur had a full race belly pan in the first place and has changed it to a half pan for some reason. Why?

Hello Andre...I've never experienced that issue. I can disable my ABS by holding down the DTC/ABS button for about 5 seconds. I hope this helps.
Love how it's a needle tach. I think the cbr 1000rr has a nice digital tach but I still prefer good ol' needle tachs. Love that about my R6

I'm not doing anything else to it. It produced 197HP on 93 octane fuel (video of that is on my channel), I'm pleased with that.

The only thing i was having problems with is, that it seems as if the guard is mis shaped like when ever the bottom of the guard goes on the frame the top pops off same thing as if I was to push the top on the bottom falls off. I called Bestem today and they told me this wasnt the first time they have heard of this happening. I shipped them back and i was told that they were going to get me a new set. I had a lot of tape on it when i tried but was still having a problem. I have the BMW HP 4 2014. I dont think they changed the seize of the frame on it. I have gotten a couple of other parts and everything seems to fit fine. If you have any other tips on what i should try before I ship them bac to get new ones please let me know. Again thank you for the reply. Oh yea and Very nice ducati . I watched your other video with you comparing them and wanted to know what one has more horse power ?
One more thing i wanted to ask is how was it getting the inspection sticker with the integrated turn signals in the brake light. I was asking my BMW manufacture to install mine and they were giving me a bunch of crap how its illegal I guess, I used to have one on my R1 and they didnt give me a problem. I live in the state M.A and it has never been a problem before...
FALTUS89 We will have a Dyno shoot out with both bikes in the next 2 weeks. I think the Panigale R will produce more HP but stay tuned. I ordered my carbon fiber frame guard from hardracing. I haven't had an issue with fit and finish. I wonder if Bestem is different than the Ilmberger carbon fiber guard that I ordered from the link below. If you go with the one I ordered, you wont have an issue. Just use 10 or so additional strips of 3M double sided tape.

I have placed my order for HP4 (delivered june 2014 ) and I have also ordered a seat cover , 2 x rizoma crash protectant (one for left clutch cover and one for right side crank cover) and hopefully I will also be able to add a gold chain like yours without voiding BMW warranty.
p.s don't worry you wont see my bike in your area (similar looking bike) as I am in Brisbane Australia

Race ready? With mirrors and indicators? You mean track ready? Also, frame covers are to protect the frame, not to stop heat. Nice bike though, and car, and house :)

The OEM tires for the HP4 are Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP2. The rear tire is a 200/55/17

On such a extremely fine tuned and electronically advanced bike you do not simply change the exhaust. The motor mapping is programmed for the akrapovic.

I have an HP4 Carbon/Competition too. I'd imagine Ibsabur had a full race belly pan in the first place and has changed it to a half pan for some reason. Why?

That 520 chain is that the stock number for that chain that comes from the factory ?
The HP4 OEM chain is 525 tensile strength. I replaced it with a 520 tensile strength chain.
