I think all MR2s have that door problem where the sounds breaks when you open and/or close the door, thanks for the tip, where the wires run to the amplifier in the back and not to the radio. Keep up the good work.
AWESOMR VIDEO!!! I have a 94 MR2 I am replacing the stereo now, I put a Sony MEX as I use them in my other cars and trucks. The speakers are my next to do but I only drive the car 1x per month No sub woofer but now you show how to use the 6" RF, I will buy them today! I am very greatful to you for this video I just subcribed and I will follow you for sure!
I've been looking all around for the steering wheel swap! Thanks! Did you have to change clockspring? I have a '96 MR2 and I already bought the adaptor you showed for the airbag
Hello, the clock spring for mine was exactly the same, so I did not change it, not sure if 91 and 96 are different though, we only got up to 95 in the US
Question: Sorry for asking after 2 yrs, but I'm a JDM (Toyota/Nissan) guy and a car stereo guy. Currently in the market for a MR2-SW20. Wanna get a nice balanced sound upgrade without throwing in clunky bass boxes or tubes. Those rear quarters; do you think a pair of nice 5.25"/5-1/4" will fit in those openings? Thanks Man!!!
I have to ask...the resistance for the cruise control on the celica wheel is different than the MR2 wheel. Did your cruise control work properly??? I would be very surprised if did. Sorry...did I miss something in the past videos??? :)
I have heard of some folks having issues with the cruise control, I’ve personally done this swap on 3-4 mr2’s and never noticed a difference, so I’m not sure what that has to do with
Did you have any airbag light come one after the steering wheel swap? I was thinking of doing this but I'm not sure if I'll have that annoying light on the dash.
johnavatar331 hello, yes the airbag light came on, but it’s easy to reset it and have it work like it should, if you google “Mr2 airbag light reset” there’s a simple procedure you do to reset it, if you put in a aftermarket steering wheel with no air bag, then yes the light will be permanently on, there’s ways of getting rid of the light itself, but it’s not something I recommend, so I won’t make any suggestions on that
Thank you for sharing! The car looks awesome! What speaker can you put in place of the subwoofer behind the driver seat as a direct replacement. Isn't there a JBL speaker available?
Michael Nakis hello, thank you for watching! Yes in fact I did use a JBL speaker for the sub, I forgot what it was at the moment, if I remember to look it up, I’ll come back here and reply

Do you know the exact year for the steering wheel. I have one but my cruise control plug doesn't match, only certain years match. Do you know what years?
Nathan Rumple I’m sorry I don’t know off the top of my head, MR2 forums or MR2 Facebook groups would be great places to research or ask for exact information, thanks for watching!

What sub speakers did you put in? Brand and size
Hi I read that the stock speaker size is 5.25" but you can fit 6.5" in with custom spacers. What size did you use in the video? Thanks!
