A treat to listen... Msv sir stage shows always begin with this song and Vanakkam Palamurai sonnen song from Avan oru charithram in 70s and 80s Nostalgic...... 🙏🙏🙏
Great gift from you to us, Gopal Anna and Gopal Saptaswaram Team. Many highlights and heros of this song. Kindly listen before reading, since I do not want to distract your divine listening with my stream of words. I will start with Pullanguzhal. The flute player has done extremely melodious and emotionally evocative performance of all the flute solos in this great song. Not only the grand solos during the introduction call out by flute (0:07) or the interlude flutes (1:29) , but the counters DURING melody singing, so pleasant and divine. Many Kudos to Elavarasan Sir and Kumar Sir. Mukesh sir's voice shines very specially in this song. Especially during the Pallavi, (0:29) which happens to be in lower stayi (tone range), his voice sounds with clarity and tonality of a flute. This new Timbre in voice is so special. It is like TMS Aiya's grand voice has been sweetened for this song even more. Mukesh sir's sangatis are beautiful throughout. Tabla is the next hero. What a beautiful play throughout (0:43, 3:38, 3:48, 5:23) , with dozens of variations by two tablas (Kiran Sir and Ganapathy Sir) so well played sir. The song is composed as a morning song. When I met MSV Aiya, and mentioned this Album, he revealed the fact that this entire album was composed and recorded in a single day from morning till midnight of the day. "Kalaila TMS vandhu Pullanghuzal padikkuduththar. Balu vandhu Aayar padi maligaiyil padumbodhu nadu rathiri ayiduchchu." Only then I realized that the songs are set to show a day in life of Shri Krishna! Wow, what a concept and execution. In spite of being a morning song in traditional tune, the strings (2:42) and the electric guitar (Tamilvanan sir) and the primordial drums during interludes (1:13, 1:20) take it into sophisticated music modern arrangement. That magic is MSV stamp. Your keyboard players - Manikandan sir, Rajesh sir, Yuvaraj sir - (2:30) and drummers - Muthu sir and Viji sir - (2:26, 2:43). A big part of that comes from Bass Cut player (Gerard Sir) and Effects (Selva Sir), All of these, have brought that modernity keeping the calmness and mood, exactly as MSV intended and your audio engineer (Sekar Sir MS Audio) has done so well. The unique special highlight of this video, of course, is Ananthu sir portraying MSV. Channeling MSV Aiya. We listeners always listen to songs as frozen in record. But we dont realize that it is simply ONE POSSIBLE SNAPSHOT from a genius. When Ananthu sir sings charanam, he takes the spirit of MSV and shows us ( 2:52 ) how MSV is a super-Carnatic performer able to come up with infinite sangatis in any song. It is our blessing that Ananthu sir chose to apprentice with MSV sir and absorbed through gurukulavasam the thought process of the Master and has been blessed by him to understand the nuances. For a singer to keep aside their own individuality for several years, in order to celebrate and preserve the Master (4:40) is so unique in the history of world. Ananthu sir is a genius on his own and will shine for his uniqueness, we all thank him for this glimpse. I should add that you have carefully kept Ananthu sir improvisation in the middle - by Mukesh sir beginning and ending song in the popular version of the tune. It honors the form of the songs as people expect to hear it, but shows that music is truly a dynamic nectar ocean of life giving and joy giving ideas, from which genius can tap into get glass full of water at a time. Even a single glass provides immortal nectar for our entire life. Now we know why such creators are equated to God. Gopal Anna we can see your pride of presenting this at 3:01 when Ananthu sir starts singing. :) Thanks for a great treat, Anna. Your audio and video engineers have presented it so well so we can hear and see it so clearly. I will translate this to Tamil too, later. === UPDATE: Gopal Sir, thanks for providing musician names, I have added to the notes, so all of us can get to know the names as we see their faces when they appear. So many thanks!
Hi sir, What to say about your comments. Again the efforts you have put to write such a lengthy comments of appreciations, are awesome. As a matter of fact these kinds of comments make us more responsible. I always have strong belief & say on stage, everything is teamwork & here too. Thank you very much 🙏🙏🙏
