Star Citizen RP - (Rough edit) 890J event attacked and HDS Polaris boarded by merc-group "388"

During an 890J RP event through RPnet one of the passengers boarding the 890 called "MaxPortis" providing bartending services apparently had a bounty on them. A merc group "388" tracked the bounty and impersonated UEE Navy to get the 890 to comply.
As this happened within Hurston Jurisdiction and HDS was not informed of any UEE Navy Activity, an undercrewed HDS Polaris which was in the middle of some logistical maintenance was hastily dispatched as a show of force to make sure all laws were abided to.
As the merc group felt uneasy about boarding the 890J under the supervision of the nearby HDS vessel escorting the 890J, not knowing who they were dealing with they decided to torp-run the 890J in hopes to disable it before boarding. As they failed and blew up the 890J they figured to not leave any witnesses and disabled the HDS Polaris too.
When they decided to board the HDS Polaris the Polaris crewman fought back and set the ship to self-destruct as is procedure when seemingly falling into enemy hands. All footage is rendered from the Polaris black-box as well as the recovered HDS Helmet Cam footage.

I'm thinking of upgrading from Hercules to Polaris.
Is that wise considering that the game is still in the testing phase, and does that ship stay with me permanently?
