- Hi, my name is Justin Ackerman and this is my 2023 Toyota GR86. In this video i showcase all the amazing features that come in the Boosted Performance tune i just recently threw onto the car. Haha, I try to explain what I’m doing as best as possible so that way it’s easy for you all to understand what I’m doing. To be honest most of the time whenever I’m doing something to my 86 it’s my first time doing that. Like for example it was my first time ever tuning my own car before. So I was still learning what to do and what everything means, which makes it a bit hard trying to explain it and sound professional to all of you. Thanks for watching and showing me support, it really means a lot to me 💙 No worries that your 86 is still stock, sometimes it may take awhile before you decide what you want to do or install onto the car. Sometimes it’s nice to drive a completely stock car around, it allows you to enjoy it more.
But honestly, to me, you actually look professional when you explain, bro, I actually look forward to your content...you know, your videos are like series to me, I actually watch them when I'm eating or even before going to bed, sometimes even at work 😂...but again keep up the great content and I hope you make it big as a RUclipsr 😎...the only thing is that I really am falling inlove with the GR Corolla now but that's on another price level here in South Africa 🙆♂️

@Justinackerman_ you will bro, just be positive and you will grow 💯...the only reason why I'm considering the GR Corolla is because my mom and sister finds it difficult to get in and out of the GR86 😅, the new GR Yaris is going to be launched soon but that's also a 2 door and it will definitely be over priced ...car prices are ridiculous😒

what was the cost for the ecutek tuning kit and the tune it's self? looking into doing this aswell that cold start delete is crucial 😭
So for the package that I received I believe it’s pretty much everything besides their E85 tune and Flex fuel kit. It goes for around $700-$1200 dollars depending on what you need. Pretty much looking at $1000 dollars give or take for their time and ecutek kit. Thanks for checking out the video fam, truly appreciate it. 👏💙
Question. I seen the first video of the download of the tune. Deleting the stock tune. My question is can the stock tune be installed back or is it gone forever?
Wassup fam, so to be quite honest with you I’m still new to this whole tuning stuff. I did notice that as well when throwing the tune into the car for the first time. I’m not sure if you could have flashed the stock tune onto a ecu program that you could flash back onto whenever you would like. What’s sick is that the Ecutek app on my phone that’s in there kit you are able to record you 0-60mph times. So that could be a pretty fun video to make, seeing what kind of time I can get in the car. Thanks for watching the video fam 💙👏

Hey bro amazing job on the videos. Very rookie question here after watching.. which option did you choose from ecutek I see they have 3 options. One including just the usb cable. The second including the usb cable and proecu (whatever that means) and the third option is like $800+ with the proecu and license. Do you need a license or something or which route did you go down?
Wassup dude! I appreciate the kind words! As for the tune of I’m not mistaken if it’s your first time tuning the car then you will need everything. The Ecutek, the tune, and the license. I hope this can answer your question 💪

Tomei headers with tomei exhaust setup sound good ?
Tomei headers and an catback exhaust would sound incredible on these cars. I actually was planning on getting a set of Tomei headers before I ended up buying my PLM ones. I definitely recommend those! Thanks so much for watching 🤝💙
Not sure how tuning works exactly and I'm sure you don't either, but do you think since you went with Boosted Performance for tuning you can still visit another shop to Dyno tune in the future?

Yeah I’m still really new to all this stuff, so not super informed. I would believe you’d still be able to go to a dyno shop and do a few runs and tune the car if need be as well. Honestly that would be something nice to ask Boosted Performance, I’ll see what they say about that!

Does the snorkel actually help in numbers and airflow?
What’s up fam, so the Velossa Tech ink Take does actually make a difference in temperature, and helps keep thing cooler over the stock heat shrouding to the stock intake. Definitely worth taking a look into it, I absolutely love mine. Thanks for watching the video fam 👏💙
Ive been looking for a Pop and crackle tune for my 2024 BRZ any tips
Boosted performance definitely could get you setup with something like that if you are interested. They put a pop tune on my car, and it sounds absolutely crazy. You can change it with a map as well, so you can turn it off and on, and change the level of intensity of the pops too.

Quick question , did they tune out the rev hang? If so how different do you feel the shift now
What’s up fam, so they did sort of turn down the rev hang in the 93 tune I got from them, and while I’m in the burble map it sort of acts as a way of dumping excess fuel so I can pop and backfire. It all depends on how you want them to setup the car, thats the awesome thing about what Boosted Performance does. Thanks for watching fam 👏💙 I hope this could help answer your question 😅

What’s up fam, so the tune I covered in this video is essentially every option you could get from Boosted Performance besides for a flex fuel kit and a E85 tune as well. This package would generally cost around $1000 or so. It comes with everything you’d need for someone who’s tuning your car for the first time. It would be awesome to throw the car on a dyno maybe sometime soon and see what kind of power it’s putting down. I wouldn’t say it gave it a ton of extra HP but it certainly helped in the midrange where the torque dip on the boxer motors have. Thanks for checking out the video fam, truly means so much 👏💙

You are correct, I did get the NA stage 2 tune for mine. If you want to get this tune for your GR86/BRZ just let boosted performance know about this video and they can do the cold start feature for you as well on your tune. Yes! You can actually get yours tuned even if you have an automatic and still have the pops and burbles.

Wassup homie, so I love being honest with you all. For some parts I am grateful to be able to work with the company to showcase their products on my car and to show off to all of you guys. Sometimes I will get some discounts on products for myself to use and then to supply to you all, or sometimes even chances of getting stuff just set out to test out and try and see how well it fit or works. A lot of the time though it’s just me saving up my money and waiting until I feel the time is alright to buy something I might have been wanting for the car. For real, we’ve both thrown some new mods on our cars since the last time we’ve race. We for sure need to line up both cars and compare them to how they were before!
Launch control works like shit. Mine is the same way. They say its an ecutek issue and doesnt matter what tuner you use. Its very lazy and laggy. The rpm doesnt hold nice and steady. It bobbles all over the place by like +/- 500 rpm.
I’m still pretty new to the tuning stuff so I’m not super familiar with how it typically is. My brother is running a K-Tuner in his Civic SI and his RPM’s on launch control seem to bounce a lot more consistently like you were mentioning in your comment. I wonder if that’s something Boosted Performance could adjust or look into for everyone. I could for sure ask them and let you know what they say. I don’t see why it wouldn’t to be honest 🤷♂️ If your serious about getting a tune, message @boostedperformancetuning on Instagram and refer to this video and they should be able to tell you if you can run this exact same tune I am running or not on your auto. Cant wait for kids to outgrow the burble tune bs. If you dont have antilag, don't fake it. Dumping excess fuel through the motor isnt a tuning feature 💀
To be honest I don’t use it super often. I mostly just turn on that tune whenever I am showing the car off in videos ect… I get it is not everyone’s taste, which is why boosted performance allows you to choose what you want added onto the tune and the burble tune is just and extra add on. @@Justinackerman_ I know sometimes it's a legitimate side effect of a tuning map and I mean. Who doesn't rev up their car in a tunnel? We all like dumb sounds and whatnot.
I just think it says a lot about the car scene when you can't show a 2nd to 3rd no lift shift but hey here's what the car sounds like when I'm coasting in neutral 🤷
