    1. The cast is the damn best, especially the dad, who seemed to be Jeff Blim’s escaped clone.
    2. The real Jake Knapp naming one of the characters his own name and the cast even bringing him in the show is the most clever improvisation I have ever seen.
    3. Is “Get those stools out of here” this school’s version of “Should I get this chair?”?
    4. Darla just wiping that glass throughout the whole thing and also giving Zoo Wee Mama the rifle is just hilarious

All I’ve been doing is watching various productions of TTO and this is probably the best one I’ve seen.

I'm a bit late but man, I absolutely love this production! I barely even know where to start. I loved most of the small changes that were made for various reasons. The fact that the ox was utilized a bit more made me particularly happy because I love that character. I also really liked the way the god-thing was handled here. I'm not a fan of religion-based censorship but I was impressed how they managed to censor the insults while still keeping the bite of the original script. The band in the background was wonderful. They did an amazing job and I loved their little interactions with the stage now and then.
I think that the cast was chosen wonderfully and they all had their strong suits which made them great for their roles.
The mother had amazing line delivery and stage presence in the right moments. Not to mention that her deeper voice was absolutely beautiful for her solo parts.
The daughter honestly had a wonderful voice that really came across during Lost Without You. I was almost happy that she was the one to die because that meant I could hear another solo of hers.
The grandpa had amazing body language which is honestly so important for this musical and I loved his voice, too- Honestly, everyone's a great singer. He had a lot of the changed parts but despite this he delivered it hilariously.
The son was so fused with the role that by the end I honestly just daw that seven-year-old boy on stage and that's so impressive. No wonder I was blown away when her voice as the most beautiful thing in the beginning of Naked in a Lake.
The bandit king really had exactly the right attitude for the role and honestly, anyone who can deliver Your Wagon is on Fire like that has my deepest respect. Especially the beginning was absolutely perfect (and whoever made the decision to have McDoon lick the daughter's hand for a solid minute, hat's off). I'm really happy they made the decision to change the cast for the roles bit to have a separate actor as McDoon because while the one playing all the other ones absolutely slayed them this one nailed the bandit king.
The guy who played pretty much the rest of the character really did it amazing. I loved the way he delivered the parts in Independence and I'll always have a soft spot for the horny ox and was absolutely not disappointed. Whoever said "Let's give Cornwallis the sax solo", I owe you my life. That was hilarious (and a very impressive sax solo).
And the father - oh the father. An all around package of a role that is so, so hard to cast. The father carries the whole first act almost on his own and the actor needs so much stage presence, feeling for comedy in voice, gestures and mimics, as well as an absolutely amazing singing voice. And it all needs to seem completely effortless in order to stay in character. The father is far less iconic than some of the other characters but show stands and falls with the casting of the father. Especially if his energy is off the whole first act lacks momentum and a lot of its comedy. And the actor right here did an amazing job. He had exactly the energy to play this character and I am so, so happy that the actor chosen for this role was so great or else, despite everyone else being just as amazing, with a weaker father the production would've lost a lot of its charm and fire. Major props to this guy because damn, that's such a hard role to nail the way he did.
Long story short: Everyone involved in this production of TTO did an absolutely amazing job and these videos deserve a lot more views to be appreciated the way they should be. I hope that'll come with time!!

Apparently, the real Jake Knapp’s friends screamed out his name when they were naming the characters at the beginning. When the dad talked to the audience after the Dysentery World, through what I assumed was an improvised monologue, he made everyone aware that there’s a real Jake Knapp in the audience

I found this gem while doing schoolwork -
And i have to be sorry for destroying your 69 likes: D
This production was great, the differences to the original were amazing and made it its own original.
I liked the voices of the mother and the father the most, but that's probably because i like their songs the most. The harmonies in dysentery were amazing, the outfits funny. All in one: I love it.
Much appretiation and love from Germany.
