Okay while i love the show, the visual of an actual lobster talking with grandpa is like 10 times as funny as the lobster costume. Great job on the art!
I've thought about if I ever produce the show with my community we would have the actor holding a live lobster. But there's probably insurance issues with that
whether the real taped version or animatic, "That's my son. Craphole. The baby killer." will always kill me. but what really impresses me is when jack bauer is demanding the free wagon, you included all the little gestures jeff was actually doing in the scene like the circular motion of the fingers when talking about the circular wheels and poking the general store guy on "fancy upgrades". starkid animatics are true gifts to the fandom.
Ok but have you seen the version where some other group put on the show and the son was named Coat-hanger. Cause that line killed me deader than that baby ox. (Edited for spelling)
I love when we saw the lobster The door it came out of just manifested Giving us the impression that grandpa has a chance of just hallucinating this instead of it actually happening
The bucket going down the ridge at 3:50 had NO reason to be so smoothly animated, but I'm glad it was Edit: The peace sign during the "bandit king" line is also so nice
@@seaztheday4418 Huh, that uhhhhhhh... That actually makes a lot more sense 😂 I'm so used to StarKid being so weird that I just didn't question it. I thought it was just another lobster situation
I loved this so much! Especially the lobster coming out of the tiny door- the visual of Grandpa having a serious conversation with a small lobster was hilarious xD
This art feels so reminiscent of those children's books that would actually tell an old pioneer story 🤭 congratulations, you just made a super nostalgic video
Whenever I hear the line “darla you’ve been cleaning that glass for two weeks now” I imagine the time changed with every performance The first was like 2 hours The next 2 days, etc etc
I saw this one version of trail to Oregon (wasn’t by starkid) and the son’s name was “coat hanger” so the dad said “that my son coat hanger, the baby killer” and I can’t stop thinking about it.
OMGG THE DOOR TGAT SUDDENLY APPEARED FOR AN ACTUAL LOBSTER TO COME OUT😂😂 Also my god that saxophone scene was just *chefs kiss* I loveee your art style❤❤
0:13 Delaware is now part of Pennsylvania. Beautiful animatic I’m just a map nerd who notices little details. Honestly, Delaware should be annexed by Pennsylvania
This is so chaotically perfect omg, I swear I always forget just how funny this musical is until I see it again I love how you included both Jeff and Joey breaking character at 3:22 (Also Craphole trying to eat the gun and almost dying will never not make me cackle like a madman)
I've watched a lot of animatics based on a lot of different musicals, and I just want you to know that this is definitely my favorite one I've ever seen! It's so smoothly animated, and so well timed with the shots, and just crafted so carefully in rectreacting these scenes from the original SK production, but with your own twist and hilariously designed. This is one of those videos I'm probably gonna watch at least once every 2 months for the rest of my life just to remind myself how brilliant it is. (Your take on the lobster scene especially had me dying haha) Thank you so much for this! TTO Has always been one of my favorite musicals and I really do love that someone so carefully helped give it the respect it deserves ❤️
This video is the most amazing thing ever and i absolutely ADORE the style. The "West Side Story" bit is too funny, and i love that you added the *pat pat* lmao 10/10 would watch again and most definitely will ❤
I didn't expect an actual bucket going down a ridge but it was so good, all of them just standing there watching the bucket tumble down the hill. It was hilarious.
Your art style is perfect for this, 🤣omg I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe The ox and the lobster being an actual ox and lobster is genuinely the funniest fucking thing I really appreciate you keeping the visual gag of the salesmans wife standing behind him patting his chest, as well as adding visual gags like the grim reaper I would pay soooo much money to see more of this show animated this way
Okay while i love the show, the visual of an actual lobster talking with grandpa is like 10 times as funny as the lobster costume. Great job on the art!
I also love how it materializes a tiny door to walk out of, it just fades in, I love it

Seeing the ox be an actual ox is great
I love your pfp
And Cornwallis, in all his lobster glory! :D
Wasn’t it the shop keepers son or am I misremembering.
Yeah, but it's weird 'cuz I somehow started thinking that ox looks like Joey 😅
okay the door just appearing for a realistic lobster absolutely obliterated me
whether the real taped version or animatic, "That's my son. Craphole. The baby killer." will always kill me.

… BANDIT king.

What about 1:47??
Pepperoni and cheese. Amen. @@unripelemon1142
craphole attempting to eat the gun is actually the funniest thing though (also this is making me realise how good starkid would be animated lmao)
Nothing could have prepared me for how you tackled Cornwallis' entrance. So hysterical, I had to take a minute to breathe 😂
I sincerely hope this is someone’s first introduction to this musical
Then this is your lucky day, cause it was for me
@@whitezerko7783Congratulations
Me here, hi
it was mine
It is mine
I love how, although they are only circles, you've managed to perfectly portray Jeff Blim's unhinged eyes
I love the crustacean joke so much for no reason tbh
2:28 I love how Jeff Blim's actual real life human epressions in this scene is somehow more animated than what any cartoonist could make
I loved this so much! Especially the lobster coming out of the tiny door- the visual of Grandpa having a serious conversation with a small lobster was hilarious xD
0:15 grandpa has been banished to the wisconsin dimension for his crimes
that'll teach him for wanting to banish lobsters off land
I'm SO HAPPY you included Jamie Lynn Beatty's *pat pat pat* on Joey when he starts the bit about West Side Story it's my favorite little detail
Gasp!!😊
Love it when Jeff’s characters just go nuts
I can already telling I'm quoting the fuck out of this. The art really helps nail the jokes home. Top tier
This art feels so reminiscent of those children's books that would actually tell an old pioneer story 🤭 congratulations, you just made a super nostalgic video
absolutely OBSESSED with your art style, unfortunately it is going in my “art styles i’d put in my mouth” folder
now Hand it over 🔫🔫🔫
✋😐✋ 🔫😎
Well did you wiggle it around first?
Whenever I hear the line “darla you’ve been cleaning that glass for two weeks now”
I imagine the time changed with every performance
The first was like 2 hours
The next 2 days, etc etc
"Darla you've been cleaning that glass for two years now"
“EZ DERRTYYY”
first of all, I love this artstyle sm
second, i'm glad people are still remembering what a fever dream this musical is
I saw this one version of trail to Oregon (wasn’t by starkid) and the son’s name was “coat hanger” so the dad said “that my son coat hanger, the baby killer” and I can’t stop thinking about it.
I wonder if they knew Lauren was going to stick the prop gun in her mouth- their actors but still the reacts seems so genuine
I was not mentally prepared for the oddly smooth animations of the bucket and bandit king back to back
« THIS CANT BE THE END OF the bandit king- OH SHIT GODDAMNIT GODDAMNIT OH NOOO- »
When I die I want those to be my last words
4:10 this is the best possible illustration of this scene and i’m so in love with you for it
The way you animated the "Quality Wagon" speech just PERFECTLY captures the live show's energy 😂😂😂
grandpa talking to an actual lobster is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen
I can't tell you how much I laughed when I saw the production for the first time and the lobster showed up
This is god damn funny and i almost died when the lobster showed up 😂😂
Watching this again after actually seeing the musical.
I love the random fully animated bits sprinkled in
for all of the bickering they do, the little nods at 1:40 were adorable
It's so nice!
I love everything about this: the animation, the choice of funny moments, the pure chaos, 20 out of 10!
"THEY BANISHED ME TO THE LAND"
the lobster actually made me choke horrifically, absolutely hilarious. brilliant work
I love the Independence Community Theater West Side Story poster! That's such a fun detail
i’m so glad people still make animatics for starkid musicals this is so good
1:26 I love this part for no reason lol
I cant believe this video is so young i feel like i remembered it for ages
OMGG THE DOOR TGAT SUDDENLY APPEARED FOR AN ACTUAL LOBSTER TO COME OUT😂😂

I loveee your art style❤❤
god for some reason I never actually pictured a real lobster talking to grandpa it looks fucking hilarious 10/10
Watching this before the actual thing was so weird but after that everything is making sense
I had to stop and remember how to breathe when Cornwallis scuttled through the tiny door, I was laughing so hard 😭
This was absolutely amazing!! Your art style is so cute and i love how you captured every characters energy perfectly
2:54 THÉ FACE IS SO GODAMM FUNNY 😬
0:13 Delaware is now part of Pennsylvania. Beautiful animatic I’m just a map nerd who notices little details. Honestly, Delaware should be annexed by Pennsylvania
Your art reminds me of the old tintin comics in the best way possible
The animation at 1:48 was so good
THIS IS SO GOOD HOW DO YOU NOT HAVE MORE SUBSCRIBERS WHAT??? KEEP DOING WHAT YOUR DOING!!
Thank you!!
This is so chaotically perfect omg, I swear I always forget just how funny this musical is until I see it again
I love how you included both Jeff and Joey breaking character at 3:22
(Also Craphole trying to eat the gun and almost dying will never not make me cackle like a madman)
The best part about this musical is that even though these are out of context, it makes basically as much sense out-of-context as it does in-context
the best part is the door for the lobster coming out of nowhere
I've watched a lot of animatics based on a lot of different musicals, and I just want you to know that this is definitely my favorite one I've ever seen!

I saw this first and then immediately went and watched the musical because of how good your animation was. No regrets.
I didn't expect an actual bucket going down a ridge but it was so good, all of them just standing there watching the bucket tumble down the hill. It was hilarious.

THE BANDIT KING WAS SO SMOOTH AND ABRUPT I LOVE YOUR ART AND SENSE OF HUMOR
i love your style!! it's so charming!! something about it is very tintin
First Starkid musical I ever watched so it has a lot of significance to me, you did it justice
something about the sudden smooth animation on hand movements makes this animatic ten times funnier
5:16 Wow they foreshadowed NPMD
Omg Jamie’s pat pat! I love you for that
Ugh i Stan a fan dude LOVE your art style
I’m gonna fucking cry this is incredible
omg i laughed so hard at this,,, literally the random moments of beautifully fluid animation were SO GOOD WHAT
10/10 on the drawing of the sax! very realistic, you even have the little thingie that makes it go up an octave! are you a band kid™
holy shit a trail to oregon animatic in 2023?! THANK YOU!!
When it cuts to being to smoothly animated it jumpscares me
your art style and pallete being so soft really works for the physical comedy of TTO ❤ I’m in love THANK YOU FOR YOUR HARD WORK ❤❤❤
Need one of these for every starkid show, this video is a treasure
I love this so much. The art is beautiful and enhances the comedy so wonderfully.
also jaimes bonnet bopping up and down while she's giggling behind joey 🥺

I love this so so so much and I wish there were a million more starkid animatics like this one.
You really went ham with bucket animation there huh
I love this! You got all those little moments and characterizations to a Tee!
I swear I say "It's dirty" exactly the way the TTO barmaid says it. Every time.
You included the extra little hand gestures and pats omg! 😂😂😂😂 you don’t know how loud of a screech I did at the lobster slide in !🤣🤣🤣
This is a masterpiece
Love how you included the peace sign this that the bandit king does as he is swept away
Im so glad youtube showed this on my home page. Trail to Oregon is one of my favorite starkid productions
THIS IS AMAZING ✨❤️👏
The money I would pay for you to do the whole scene of the lobster
I can't even describe how much I love both this art style and the clips from this incredible show-
Holy FUCK that had no reason to be as beautifully animated as it was, that was amazing
LOVE your art style!! it’s so cute and detailed!!
Brilliant art style. Brilliant out of context bits. I'm cackling at this masterpiece
Everything is so funny but I specially love the way a DOOR appears so the lobster can come out of it💀💀💀
Oh my goodness this is beautiful!
This was absolutely amazing! Can’t wait to see what you make next!
The Lobster slowly sliding out of the door killed me 😭😂
