- Here is a my review, unboxing, and comparison of one of the more powerful chargers in the newly released iCharger line up. While the software is mostly this same, I go over the new hardware of the DX8 and compare it to my older 406 Duo iCharger. I also briefly go over some of the specifications as well. While the DX8 can be used to charge all kinds of RC batteries. I feel that it physically is geared toward FPV drone, helicopter, and airplane batteries which usually have XT style connectors.
Great vid! Nice unboxing and overview of the charger. Interesting that it was just the charger, and nothing else compared to the previous version.
Yea, I had seen a negative review on this charger before I got it. The person was mad because he could not even use it until getting the power source cable. So I figured I would stress that. Usually unboxing videos are pretty useless, but people need to know about this before buying.
If you are over 40, Another thing you will need will need to use this charger is reading glasses to see the tiny display.
I think they used the same screen for all the new chargers to save money. Like the X6 and X8 which are much smaller overall. So now we have a screen sized for a mini charger in a larger charger with plenty of room for a larger screen. Even the screen in my old 406 DUO is larger. 😠
I wish I had seen your video before purchasing. Like you said, essential useless out of the box.
I purchased mine from Buddy RC and wish they would list the type of connectors the charger uses and needs for use. Then I could’ve added that to my cart
Yea it’s very frustrating. It’s a great charger, to bad they decided to cut corners. So I figured I would warn people.
so this does not have a built in power supply?
Nope, it is a DC changer. You also need to get a power supply to run it.
Is there a good “how to” video or website? I don’t find the interface all that intuitive, programming these memory selections isn’t intuitive 😮
Not that I have found. I ended up reading the manual like 4 times when I got my first iCharger. I may find time to make a video about that in the next couple of days. You think that would be helpful?
@@InfiniteEscapeRC absolutely! But only if you want to… is the manual on that little CD? I will sheepishly admit I don’t have any computer that plays CDs anymore, perhaps it’s online as a posted PDF. Many thanks in advance, keep up the great work you just got another sub 🙏🏻
@@NineGPull If you go to this link and scroll down there is a like to the manual in pdf form. www.progressiverc.com/products/icharger-dx8
@@NineGPull thanks for the sub! Yea I did not use the cd either. It’s still sealed in its envelope. Maybe I can use it as a drink coaster.
@@InfiniteEscapeRC you’re the best!
