The playups are hilarious. "First female non-german luge racer since 1997" They might as well say... "First white girl with brown hair at 5'5 to win in since yesterday when another white, brown hair 5'5 girl took first ever."

If bobsleigh, skeleton, and luge are all sledding events, then why aren't they all covered by the same international federation? (Luge has its own federation, unlike the other two.)
lol, Well, I guess im 2 years late, but I'm a luger, and my coach right now is Olympic Athelete Brooke Ashkrum she trains us by, some push ups, warm ups, and some mental pictures, like visualising the track, When we do dry land, starting January we just medician balls, weights, etc.
Well, there is a few tracks, like Canada (WHistler), France (La Plagne), Austria (Iglis, Imst), Germany (Altenberg, Konigssee, Oberhof, Winterberg), South Korea (Alpensia), Latvia (Sigulda), Norway (Lillehammer), Russia ( Sochi), Switzerland (St. Moritz), and last but not least United states!!! (Lake Placid, Utah Park City) I hope you end up trying it, and enjoyinhg it like I do!! (Yes well aware im 7 years late)
Clickbait.... Here is a quick summary of the video: What's luge. Meet an athlete. Backstory. Scary experience. Gym practice. Now let me try...Good luck... What part is actually explains how they train????? As I said, clickbait!!!!
anybody else wonder how the hell someone gets into luge..? its not like you can just go to the local track or something.
Aidan Reilly I just assume if you’re really into slides you might seek this sport out
I know I am 5 years too late and you are allready too old you have to do a slider search
i know it’s a little late but i’m on the d team and i got into it bc i went to a slider search
If in whistler, you just give a worker 20 dollars, and ask to try it, then they will set u up
That's literally what you do though. You find a local track and sign up for a class.
Lol. "The only thing that happened was my fingernail got ripped off."
Considering she could've died, I'd say that's pretty good
Ow.

this must have been the most fun series to report and film
how do you get into ski jumping? same thing.
When she said barrel roll I lol'd hard. Anyways, these Olympic athletes are incredible.
It is a good question. They all used to be one federation, until the 1950's, when luge broke apart, the reason is kinda unknown.
do you have to keep your head up all the time to see the track? How to steer the sled?
You steer by pushing against the coufins, which are the rails at the front of the sled. You also shift your wait in the curves.

Kanjilearner i believe it is because luge is a pull of sport while bobsled and skeleton are run of sleds
Hmmm I was expecting to learn how they train Luge, guess I'll have to look elsewhere
