They dropped the first teaser Nov '14, with the 2nd teaser In April '15 @ Celebration, followed by the sizzle reel at CCSD Jul '15. They couldn't drop the RG1 trailer that early because of the ongoing promo for TFA, which didn't release until dec '15. I think people are forgetting that they were still pushing TFA and making millions until Feb-March. I believe TFA was definitely a big factor in RG1 marketing, It just left the theaters last June. Seems like they're following the same marketing schedule. Should they release something this month? Yeah, but there is logic in their current marketing timeline.

You'd know if a trailer was coming next week. They'd of dropped a teaser to it. Its not like you've bought your tickets and you don't have to. "It irks me" be patient. I'm irked that people don't give Finn his due and call him comedic relief just because he's black when he's the mother lovin' co-lead of Star Wars and is everything Luke was and more. Gentle, Warm, Kind, Funny, Empathetic, Compassionate, Strong, Brave, Vulnerable, and Wise. Yet everyone thinks Rey is Luke's daughter because she's the white girl when she aint nothing but a mini Han Solo with a lightsaber. THATS infuriating. Finn over here gunning like Luke and earning his nickname and paralleling Luke's fight with Vader on Bespin and everything but nope! Rey gets near Luke's lightsaber first and it shows her memories stored *in* the device, an old memory that is possibly hers then a future vision. I agree with Rey being a descendant of Palpatine. She has dark in her, but Luke saved her and started her training. That's how she was able to control the dark side in her fight against Ren. Kylo knows who she is and that is why he wants to complete her training. Together they could be a powerful team

I'm not worried about not getting a trailer yet. Remember, The Force Awakens trailer came out in October - just two months before the movie was released. Sure, TFA had two teaser trailers at this point, but an actual trailer didn't drop in the summer, but in the fall.
RE: Rogue one re shoots, something no ones mentioning is how big a factor the 'rating' given to the movie is for the re shoots? alot of talk in on making the movie better etc, but does this council think at this moment the film will be a 12 like the force awakens or a 15?? and does Lucasfilm worry about it being a potential 15 rated film? We see in the Celebration Sizzler some quite violent fighting, thoughts on this?

Showing characters we already know does not shrink the universe. It expands it by filling in that character's history. Don't worry there will be new characters introduced, using the older ones doesn't cause problems, in terms of the universe.
godzilla had alot of problems with its narrative and character development but was saved by beautiful cinematography and good action. i think rogue one will be the same.

i just started reading Aftermath, and in it Wedge talks how he used to talk to fulcrum in the alliance, but since Wedge joins the rebels in season 3 of the show, this surely means either Ahsoka lives and comes back or there is an error in cannon?
Hmm. I feel that way too. Despise the selfishness of Han, the innocence of ep4/5/6 Luke. Old ben wasn't much of interest. Qui Gon was pretty intense, and there were hints of more layers than they really showed. (evidenced by what Dooku stated in ep 2). Rey, though.......
What I want to see if Vader is this: screen goes blank. Screen comes back on with the bang of a rebel solider getting pushed up against a wall grabbing his neck. Then he just passed out dead. Then just a breath from Vader.
My pet theory is that they will try to top off "I am your father"with: Rey complains about Luke abandoning her in a barren desert planet. "How could you do that? You are my father!" Luke: "No. YOU ARE MY FATHER." (puzzled eyes from Rey and the spectators alike) Luke: "Anakin had unfinished business, he bent to the dark side and was unable to fully bring balance to the force. ok! my 2 cents. Luke is rey's father. In the scene with her and kylo, he mentions he sees the island while reading her mind. She's been in the island with Luke before. Luke and his daughter, he sends her out with trusted people that tell him she is dead . That's why he is surprised when he sees her in the island. tell me what you guys think.
At about 39:28 when Christian was talking about the Obiwan movie and started to say "That's not the movie....", I was so expecting and hoping he would finish that with "you're looking for!"
I don't remember where I read it but; One of the expanded universe sources stated that Lightsabers are built completely hands free. That they involve hundreds if not thousands of small intricate parts that must be manipulated and assembled with the force alone because of how sensitive they are. I always loved this idea as it added to the mythical quality of the Lightsaber and also made it make a great deal of sense for why they are so rare and valuable. I keep hoping they will make this way of building a lightsaber canon and not just have it be mundane assembly.
I'd be fine with a live action series set during the trilogies on ABC but leave the old republic to netflix, HBO or a film series, especially if it involves Revan.

Instead of people always thinking it's Leia, it'd be great if Yoda was actually referencing Sheev Palpatine's son/daughter, ESPECIALLY if Rey is indeed Palpatine's granddaughter (and even more so if Sheev Palpatine and his son/daughter were estranged and there's some awesome backstory to it all. Like, Sheev's daughter disliked her father and saw him as a monster and blah blah blah!). THAT would be so cool! Gosh, I SO hope that Rey goes dark eventually in a future trilogy like Episode 10+ (or, even if Rian Johnson says "fuck it" and she turns in Ep. 8!!!).
Why do people hateee so much on network television , there's good network television out there, Mr Robot, the walking dead, the flash etc. Network television can work , and I think an abc show would get a bigger budget than a Netflix one , which is something that a Star Wars show would need.

I pray that we get something from the Old Republic. The story is so rich with characters like Malgus, Revan, Bane, Scion, and so many others. I pray we can get a movie or a show that is live action or animated
I'm confused by Kristian citing the fact that we haven't had a full trailer as evidence of something potentially going wrong behind the scenes. Compare Rogue One to TFA; both movies have/had December release dates and both released teasers in early April. TFA didn't have a full trailer until October. Why would Rogue One be different? What is the lack of trailer evidence of when compared to the example the previous Star Wars movie, less than a year ago, gave us?
Celebration next year in Orlando will be a definite improvement. They already mentioned in London about how its the 40th Anniversary of Star Wars next year, and unveiled their commemorative logo... so I fully expect next years Celebration to be huge. Throw in the fact its back in the US, then its nailed on to be.
The report says the SIXTH film will be called PLT productions. Episode IX will be the 5th film Disney/Lucasfilm does, so PLT productions has to be the 3rd Star Wars Story.
I'm just hoping the whole re-shoot thing is not trying to bring it into line with Lucas' revised tone. Originally, A New Hope introduced us to a galaxy with images of the smoldering corpses of Luke's aunt and uncle, the bloody severed limb in the cantina, and an introduction of Han Solo point blank, broad daylight gunning down Greedo. This wasn't a place where people stepped in poop on the streets and random droids did their three stooges imitations as filler.
There are so many holes in the "Rey Palpatine" theory. That video mentioned that supposedly makes a great case is 90% circumstantial and has enormous holes. There's NOTHING in canon - new or old - that has ever even hinted at the idea of Palpatine having children. In the old canon he was much more obsessed with obtaining immortality through the cloning. In the new canon we haven't heard anything one way or another. Another big point that video makes is saying "Rey being a Skywalker would be too obvious, clearly they're planning a bigger twist" - except what people don't realize is Star Wars doesn't HAVE to be about "twists". This isn't M. Night world. We had one big memorable twist about parentage in the original trilogy, but people seem to ignore that TFA didn't even TRY To make Kylo Ren a twist. They know better than to just copy that. That video also says that she can't be a Skywalker because we'd have too many Skywalkers - which is so laughable when you look at the OT. Honestly, I'm not saying she is a Skywalker. I doubt she is. But it's 1000% more likely than this Palpatine or Kenobi stuff. That kind of stuff is just bad fanfiction. I would hope Rian Johnson and the rest have better writing skills than THAT.
Call it Ben Kenobi. Whole movie takes place on Tatooine (I don't want him to abandon his mission). He hears galactic rumors and is drawn to leave, but doesn't. Could feature meditation sessions with Yoda and Qui-Gon. Further training etc...
Yoda Lightsaber: ridonkulous Ben Kenobi: Deliberate Pablo smoke screen. I think they have time though. Even if they waited 5-10 years, McGregor will still be the right age. Mara Jade: Not coming back. I think they keep Luke celibate. Orlando Celebration: I think they're going to blow their Star Wars load and improve it incredibly. I agree they listen to the fans, and will tie and leverage all of their Disney weight since they'll have "home-field" advantage. My Rey Theory: A newly minted Kylo Ren spared her life because she is his little sister. He dropped her off in the millennium falcon (that he stole) on Jakku. He did this unbeknownst to everyone (Snoke, Luke, Leia, Han). Everyone assumed her to be dead. He wiped her head.
Call it silly, but Captain Pellaeon was my favorite character of the EU. I would love to see him brought back to cannon. He's the Wattson to Thrawn's Sherlock, they make a great pair.
With ABC in talks for a Star Wars TV show and most of the council members on Jedi Council not really wanting to see the franchise on this network (I tend to agree), what about an Obi-Wan live-action TV show on ABC, starring Ewan McGregor and headed by Dave Filoni (or whoever else... possibly J.J. Abrams)? I could get behind this... especially if they don't announce any Obi-Wan anthology films anytime soon.
The rogue one TV spot was done for the Cinemark XD theaters. I saw Suicide Squad in XD 3D and they played it during the previews so I got to see it in 3D and it looked great!

I'd like to see the show based around events leading up to the force awakens , like the resistance going up against the 1st order , to help build up this new era
TV show about Kkruk and young Jedi on the run after Order 66. They can run out to the outer rim and not effect canon. The empire can send Sedriss to track them down, accompanied by an Inquisitor or two. Being in the Outer Rim you can also potentially use Thrawn(depending on Rebels events). Quinlon Vos can also show up. It'll be a rugged show about Jedi being hunted in unknown space. Also show how the Empire hunted Jedi. third or fourth season have one of the Jedi turn to the Darkside. And for those who don't know Kkruk survives and rejoins Luke Skywalker's New Jedi Order. A lot of potential IMO.
Rogue One trailers seem to be synced with the remaining Disney slate. 2nd Teaser with Pete's Dragon in August, and Full Trailer w Dr. Strange in November.
I think Yoda's light saber was lost when he dueled with Palpatine, somewhere in the senate assembly hall, then he fled pretty quick in Organa's speeder.
I am staying hopeful on Rogue One. You don't however spend that kinda of money, on that many re-shoots, and miss a huge opportunity at Celebrations for no good reason. I think they must have had some serious issues of some kinda. Heck they could have thrown together a trailer of old material, and quited the rumors down.People would have questioned why they didn't see a scene , but it would't have been that big of a deal. This trailer better be damn good, lol. and i think Kristian is right once this thing starts rolling look out, it will be a juggernaut. loved the show as always keep up the good work all!
Not gonna lie. I get a bit annoyed every time someone asks for a gritty Star Wars movie, or show. The one person in my family who is looking the most forward to Rogue One is my 8 year old brother. He would be crushed if by some reason he could not see the movie because of age restrictions, or even if he sees it and it breaks his newfound love of Star Wars. Star Wars is for everyone, and that is the way it should be. All Star Wars should be watchable for families and kids. That is why christmas is such a great spot, everyone can get to go see it.
Perry's great, I really like her. Her coverage from SWCE was awesome too. Please have her on Jedi Council more.

ok! my 2 cents. Luke is rey's father. In the scene with her and kylo, he mentions he sees the island while reading her mind. She's been in the island with Luke before. Luke and his daughter, he sends her out with trusted people that tell him she is dead . That's why he is surprised when he sees her in the island. tell me what you guys think.

I don't remember where I read it but; One of the expanded universe sources stated that Lightsabers are built completely hands free. That they involve hundreds if not thousands of small intricate parts that must be manipulated and assembled with the force alone because of how sensitive they are. I always loved this idea as it added to the mythical quality of the Lightsaber and also made it make a great deal of sense for why they are so rare and valuable. I keep hoping they will make this way of building a lightsaber canon and not just have it be mundane assembly.
I'd be fine with a live action series set during the trilogies on ABC but leave the old republic to netflix, HBO or a film series, especially if it involves Revan.

"No... there is another." - Yoda from 'TESB' [In reference to a force-sensitive user who could kill Emperor Palpatine and put an end to the Empire]. Instead of people always thinking it's Leia, it'd be great if Yoda was actually referencing Sheev Palpatine's son/daughter, ESPECIALLY if Rey is indeed Palpatine's granddaughter (and even more so if Sheev Palpatine and his son/daughter were estranged and there's some awesome backstory to it all. Like, Sheev's daughter disliked her father and saw him as a monster and blah blah blah!). THAT would be so cool! Gosh, I SO hope that Rey goes dark eventually in a future trilogy like Episode 10+ (or, even if Rian Johnson says "fuck it" and she turns in Ep. 8!!!).
Why do people hateee so much on network television , there's good network television out there, Mr Robot, the walking dead, the flash etc. Network television can work , and I think an abc show would get a bigger budget than a Netflix one , which is something that a Star Wars show would need.

Kristian what are you talking about. The international trailer for the force awakens didnt come out until in november after the full trailer had come out in october. It didnt come out before the full trailer.
I pray that we get something from the Old Republic. The story is so rich with characters like Malgus, Revan, Bane, Scion, and so many others. I pray we can get a movie or a show that is live action or animated

I'm confused by Kristian citing the fact that we haven't had a full trailer as evidence of something potentially going wrong behind the scenes. Compare Rogue One to TFA; both movies have/had December release dates and both released teasers in early April. TFA didn't have a full trailer until October. Why would Rogue One be different? What is the lack of trailer evidence of when compared to the example the previous Star Wars movie, less than a year ago, gave us?
Celebration next year in Orlando will be a definite improvement.
They already mentioned in London about how its the 40th Anniversary of Star Wars next year, and unveiled their commemorative logo... so I fully expect next years Celebration to be huge.

The report says the SIXTH film will be called PLT productions. Episode IX will be the 5th film Disney/Lucasfilm does, so PLT productions has to be the 3rd Star Wars Story.
I'm just hoping the whole re-shoot thing is not trying to bring it into line with Lucas' revised tone. Originally, A New Hope introduced us to a galaxy with images of the smoldering corpses of Luke's aunt and uncle, the bloody severed limb in the cantina, and an introduction of Han Solo point blank, broad daylight gunning down Greedo. This wasn't a place where people stepped in poop on the streets and random droids did their three stooges imitations as filler.
There are so many holes in the "Rey Palpatine" theory. That video mentioned that supposedly makes a great case is 90% circumstantial and has enormous holes.
There's NOTHING in canon - new or old - that has ever even hinted at the idea of Palpatine having children. In the old canon he was much more obsessed with obtaining immortality through the cloning. In the new canon we haven't heard anything one way or another.
Another big point that video makes is saying "Rey being a Skywalker would be too obvious, clearly they're planning a bigger twist" - except what people don't realize is Star Wars doesn't HAVE to be about "twists". This isn't M. Night world. We had one big memorable twist about parentage in the original trilogy, but people seem to ignore that TFA didn't even TRY To make Kylo Ren a twist. They know better than to just copy that.
That video also says that she can't be a Skywalker because we'd have too many Skywalkers - which is so laughable when you look at the OT.
Honestly, I'm not saying she is a Skywalker. I doubt she is. But it's 1000% more likely than this Palpatine or Kenobi stuff. That kind of stuff is just bad fanfiction. I would hope Rian Johnson and the rest have better writing skills than THAT.
Call it Ben Kenobi. Whole movie takes place on Tatooine (I don't want him to abandon his mission). He hears galactic rumors and is drawn to leave, but doesn't. Could feature meditation sessions with Yoda and Qui-Gon. Further training etc...
This movie could really focus on the Force like no film has.

Ben Kenobi: Deliberate Pablo smoke screen. I think they have time though. Even if they waited 5-10 years, McGregor will still be the right age.
Mara Jade: Not coming back. I think they keep Luke celibate.
Orlando Celebration: I think they're going to blow their Star Wars load and improve it incredibly. I agree they listen to the fans, and will tie and leverage all of their Disney weight since they'll have "home-field" advantage.
My Rey Theory: A newly minted Kylo Ren spared her life because she is his little sister. He dropped her off in the millennium falcon (that he stole) on Jakku. He did this unbeknownst to everyone (Snoke, Luke, Leia, Han). Everyone assumed her to be dead. He wiped her head.
Call it silly, but Captain Pellaeon was my favorite character of the EU. I would love to see him brought back to cannon. He's the Wattson to Thrawn's Sherlock, they make a great pair.

With ABC in talks for a Star Wars TV show and most of the council members on Jedi Council not really wanting to see the franchise on this network (I tend to agree), what about an Obi-Wan live-action TV show on ABC, starring Ewan McGregor and headed by Dave Filoni (or whoever else... possibly J.J. Abrams)? I could get behind this... especially if they don't announce any Obi-Wan anthology films anytime soon.
The rogue one TV spot was done for the Cinemark XD theaters. I saw Suicide Squad in XD 3D and they played it during the previews so I got to see it in 3D and it looked great!

At 2:55..... We didn't see a full trailer for The Force Awakens until October. Not having seen one yet for Rogue One isn't a big deal at all.

I'd like to see the show based around events leading up to the force awakens , like the resistance going up against the 1st order , to help build up this new era
I'm planning on buying the Legendary Kenobi story which I personally wish was still canon. For me it was a great Obi Wan story.

The Dream Jedi Council line up IMO is Harloff, Rocha, Campea, and Ellis
TV show about Kkruk and young Jedi on the run after Order 66. They can run out to the outer rim and not effect canon. The empire can send Sedriss to track them down, accompanied by an Inquisitor or two. Being in the Outer Rim you can also potentially use Thrawn(depending on Rebels events). Quinlon Vos can also show up. It'll be a rugged show about Jedi being hunted in unknown space. Also show how the Empire hunted Jedi. third or fourth season have one of the Jedi turn to the Darkside. And for those who don't know Kkruk survives and rejoins Luke Skywalker's New Jedi Order. A lot of potential IMO.

I am staying hopeful on Rogue One. You don't however spend that kinda of money, on that many re-shoots, and miss a huge opportunity at Celebrations for no good reason. I think they must have had some serious issues of some kinda. Heck they could have thrown together a trailer of old material, and quited the rumors down.People would have questioned why they didn't see a scene , but it would't have been that big of a deal.
This trailer better be damn good, lol. and i think Kristian is right once this thing starts rolling look out, it will be a juggernaut.

Not gonna lie. I get a bit annoyed every time someone asks for a gritty Star Wars movie, or show. The one person in my family who is looking the most forward to Rogue One is my 8 year old brother. He would be crushed if by some reason he could not see the movie because of age restrictions, or even if he sees it and it breaks his newfound love of Star Wars. Star Wars is for everyone, and that is the way it should be. All Star Wars should be watchable for families and kids. That is why christmas is such a great spot, everyone can get to go see it.
of course Lucas loves the Han Solo comics. It's about racing! Wizard! :D (actually I love them, too)

I'm quite sure that, during one of the latest conventions, someone from Lucasfilm announced an Obi Wan Kenobi's movie at least in their plans.
It can't be a 23 episode series on the main ABC channel. It needs to be a 10-13 episode focused story. Can put more money into each episode that way.
