My mom is a professional florist as well and she did all my flowers at my wedding. She even used flowers from dollar tree! For months we would go to Joans, hobby lobby, and Michaels and sift through all their flowers on sales and even the dollar tree. And she found all the glassware from second hand thrift stores for super cheap too. It was incredible to see her work!
My husband’s aunt is a florist and she gifted us our floral arrangements as our wedding present, but gave us a budget to stick to. So we did this very thing also. We actually got mostly everything, at least all the flowers and such from Hobby Lobby when they had them on markdown plus she got a florist discount on them too! The flowers we bought were in part cheaper because they weren’t “in season,” but what is in January/February…that’s when we bought it all b/ we got married in March and she needed time to assemble it all since she was doing it after hours. I love that they’re faux flowers and that’s what I wanted from the jump b/ I wanted to be able to hold on to them as keepsakes. My sister ended up doing the same thing for her wedding…they used my husband’s aunt also but paid her, obviously, for their arrangements. Definitely the best way to go.

Fair enough🤷♀️ but for the products she thought about, and the place she was, this seems reasonable. Sometimes, things don’t come from dollar tree🤷♀️ Even so, dollar tree’s things aren’t even a dollar anymore so…🤷♀️
I think her point here was to prioritize the event over the challenge. While yes it’s fun to see what she can create from just dollar tree items, they do suck. On the off chance this commenter was really looking to make her wedding center pieces herself, she pushed her in the direction of cheap and accessible while still beautiful, instead of just dollar tree. Yes she COULD have gotten paint from dollar tree that would stink and chip, and she could have spent $50 on the tiny bundles of dust covered half torn flowers from dollar tree to complete the challenge. Or she could spend $5 on a can of spray paint and $20 on much more beautiful flowers somewhere else since they were on sale
Yes, they are gorgeous 🎉 But I'd love to see the actual diy dollarstore center piece or even any beautiful diy dollarstore project 😅. I have faith. You got this!
@@Violet_Roseeit’s not though lol the glass and foam are from dollar tree but the spray paint and the flowers are from two other non-dollar stores. So she built the base with DT stuff, but everything else that makes it pretty and wedding-like didn’t come from a dollar store.

Yeah my bouquet and the bridesmaid bouquets were almost entirely dollar store (added a few to mine from Hobby Lobby because I wanted specific flowers). I think they looked great and I get to always have my flowers on display in my house, I still love them
I buy flowers from dollar tree and make arrangements for the cemetery. They hold up for months until the next holiday and most of them keep their color. For $1.25 each that's a great deal. I also get flowers pots and florist foam at dollar tree. Since some "people" decide to steal from the cemetery it's way too expensive to get flowers from anywhere else but if people want to steal your arrangements then it must look nice!
I made my wedding center pieces from DT we had a Christmas themed wedding so I made mini Christmas trees with gold ornaments. Then used a special ornament to put the table number on and that was the tree topper. Several people who kept the trees from my wedding 5 years ago still have and use the trees!!!
I don't think the dollar store sells spray paint. And she said she doesn't recommend the dollar tree flowers because they're obviously bad quality and look so. And she's right. If you don't mind your flowers falling apart and visibly looking like cheap sh!t then go on ahead
I made all the centerpieces and bridal party bouquets out of dollar tree flowers. I even made the decor and decorated the arches with dollar tree flowers. They turned out beautiful
I loooove how they turned out! Thank you for sharing the frustrating side of artistry. Sometimes pushing through the process, even though it feels icky at the time, really pays off! ❤
Very beautiful, absolutely stunning, but seeing as how the flowers came from Michael’s and the spray paint came from Walmart, would it really be considered a dollar tree centerpiece. I would really like to see you do it with the flowers from the dollar store, it could really help out those people that can’t afford Michael’s even when it is on sale. But again beautiful work, totally gorgeous🤩🤩🤩
Another tip for prepping your spray paint is to put the can in warm (not hot) water for 10 minutes then shake. My dad used to do recon work on white goods and he always used that to get the best finish. Beautiful work.

Yes, you can reduce a centerpiece price for DIY by about 50%, but it doesn't do the bride any favors by using Dollar Tree flowers. It is much better to get Hobby Lobby, Michaels, or Joann's flowers OUT OF SEASON!! The more notice you have on the colors and styles that the bride wants, the cheaper the cost will be.
