Could you cover dog body language and how to interrupt rude dog play?
Thank you for pointing out things owners should be covering with their dogs but overlook. Common sense dog training that covers every eventuality.
Thank you for watching!
Did you notice the dog's whole body shake when Andy put slack in the leash? Most times it's not the dog that needs training but the humans.

How would you react if Jinx had acted aggressively? would you create distance, or correct? or something else?
Dogs reaction walking with the child is so much better, the guy was tense and that fed through to the dog. Good boy Jinks.
Good to see Jinx making progress and not having the immediate reaction to bite the ear off the trainer. LOL Gonna make a GOOD boy of him yet!
Hiya, many years ago I had a blue Merle Border Collie from working stock.
Oh man the flings I did with him in regards to environmental proofing was unreal. We walk every where, stroking dust carts, large overcoats, 🌂 umbrellas and anything else you can think up. That boy was bomb proof. Even fireworks, to which someone called me a cruel dog owner by exposing him yo stressful situation.
With a large family, kids of all ages, I need a bombproof dog. My boy and I thoroughly enjoyed our training.
I now have a 6 month old bird dog who has totally different needs.
Honestly the collie was easier to train than this bird dogs.
Hi Stonnie- do u perhaps have the video when Jinx started? And how u went about teaching him obstacle course??
What a great video uncle Stonie! And I love Jinx, what a beautiful dog!
Thank you!
Hey Andy. OH!
Another great video Stonnie!!
I was wondering if you had any tips or could do a video about how to help a dog get over their fears. For example, when my family got our lab/shepard mix he was terrified of indoor stairs. Unfortunately he still is and I wish I could help him.
Shout out to Delaware
Great video, Stonnie!! We live in a small mountain town in Colorado; which gets flooded with tourists. When my long hair German Shepherd was on his first year here, my goal was to walk Main St 3 times per day and get 100 pets per day from the tourists. So....he loves people!
He also loves other dogs. He likes to go up to them and put his head over their neck and back, right behind their head; which is not received well by all dogs. I have to work on that with him somehow.
Your videos are just amazing! Inspirational and full of really useful information, compare to production-like-channels.
🇮🇪 very good video sharing brilliant information
I adopted a dog a few months ago that did not seem to be well socialized. At 15 months, she didn’t know basic commands and was nervous around everyday things, like getting into the car. She’s a 1.5 year old German shepherd/husky mix and I’ve been exposing her to different things which has been going well. However, she really likes to play with other dogs, but now has started becoming a frustrated greeter and barks/lunges at other dogs. How would you recommend managing this and exposing her to different dogs calmly?
Dog sure is worried about the umbrella. How about leaving umbrella open on the ground, throw raw steak around umbrella and a couple of pieces on the inside. I would also be very mindful about people the dog doesn't know leaning over the top of the dog. It could be a spatial thing.
Hi Stoney, can you do a video on your methodology and theory of walking the dogs like you do through the obstacle course? or link me to a video where you go into it.
I"ve never seen anything like it. It almost goes under the radar when I watch your videos. I've been a subscriber for at least a few years.
Very helpful and encouraging, Stonnie. Thanks for sharing:)
Thank you for watching!
Poetic part 63
So good mate
Stonnie. You are showing the dog after he has already learned to be comfortable in various situations. That is great. Do you have a video showing you working with an aggressive dog to become comfortable in such situations (like the umbrella)? Thank you for sharing such great videos.
Yes
I got my Dutchie exposed to dogs and people early. They are all about trust.
Is Andy his owner? The cute little tail wag from Jinx towards Andy makes me think so. I love the umbrella idea. I wish I had done that when my dog was a puppy! Also, Charlotte is a boss 😎
No, Andy’s pup is a nice Chocolate Lab named Goose. Andy was just super nice and offered to help me with Jinx!
@@StonnieDennisGoose is adorable. Thank you for these videos and sharing with us!
Amazing to see how Jinx responded to Andy relax.
I don’t know if my hands are big enough for that handful.😜
Fantastic video. You made the concept so easy and simple to understand. Jinx is a handsome dog.
Every time I hear the golden retriever glorified, I roll my eyes. This cannot be generalized either. My neighbor has a super crazy and reactive golden retriever. It's a fact that he can't control his dog, but it's also a fact that the dog is a golden retriever.
Do you regularly care for and manage large numbers of dogs, including Golden Retrievers?
I am curious how you got from where Jinx from where he started to where he is in the video
Look at the first video from a few weeks ago.
Thanks for sharing.

My dog reacts very badly when leashes get tangled. I politely refuse dog meets on leash now.
Yeah, Jinx isn’t going to be a candidate for meet and greets, we are preparing for worst case scenarios…
Very glad to hear that your training style even works on dogs that "choose a reaction that is socially unexceptable". Education exposure, over and over. Another pearl of Stony wisdom for my training know how. Thank you Again. I admit I plan to stick to golden retrievers personally, but family and friends will still be showing up with dogs who need this lesson, probably my whole life.
Good choice!
Is he a Dutchie? Was he from a reputable Dutchie breeder? Just curious! Their genetics can be complicated. Naturally suspicious, protective, if not exposed early it can definitely escalate quickly. This one seems pretty insecure and lacking confidence, definitely not inherently aggressive, that's just how he choose to manifest his emotions when unsure. Love this kind of very natural exposure! Such a lovely and unique training style as always.
People CAN do this controlled, just using a muzzle would be a good safety net, and balanced/calm dogs as helpers of course.
Their genetics are not complicated at all. People pretend that they are complicated for various reasons but none of those reasons are particularly valid.
@Stonnie Dennis I guess they're not complicated lol wrong choice of words. People just don't nurture those attributes correctly sometimes!

Stonnnie, do you run any apprenticeship type program. You have such a great 'dog summer camp' vibe about you that just speaks to my soul, so I had to ask!
How good you at mowing, weed eating, and servicing trucks, boats, and atvs?
You better be willing to put in the work!
