Everyone has an opinion about everything. You have to do what is best for you and where your heart takes you. I have been moving toward using planner products from small business owners instead of HP but I plan on keeping the planner supplies I already have. Gotta do what you gotta do.

Where did you get your nano writing tracker? I LOVE it!!! I just set up my plotting notebook for my newest book, and I am repurposing a monthly planner I picked up at Aldi's to keep track of sales/ads stuff. It's perfect and I don't have to buy anything else! Win-win! I also am using an A5 planner for the first time for my main planner. It's so cute and makes me smile every time I use which I guess is kind of the point, right? :)

I have been struggling with Erin Condren but I have already purchased two EC planners prior to the graduation event. And I don't want or have the ability to spend money to replace those planners. And I am trying to infuse joy back in those planners since it changed the way I look at them.
Always love the notebook challenge!! Thanks!

The only constant is death, change, and taxes :) It's OK to be stressed, angry, and frustrated as we're all human. What's not OK is treating anybody less than the wonderful people we all are. There is light in all of us! We're all in this together and love is the answer (says me, the hippie who just wants joy and love for everybody so that's what I'm going to focus on!). Keep up the great vibes of your channel, Sarra! I love visiting here and geeking out on planners and the tools! I deeply appreciate your content.

SAME! I love the idea of an A5 and all the binders - of course I’ve purchased some bc they are pretty! I thought about printing out the HB90 in A5 and then I realized, nope. I like being able to just print stuff out and pop it on the rings. This is why I used the big HP as a teacher planner, too, for the same reason.

    • @MsCarolinaDreamz
      @MsCarolinaDreamz 4 года назад

My 1st HP was a Big. I really couldn't see changing the ability to print and go with additional "things" for lack of a big girl word atm. My problem is I hate vertical planning and I didn't know it. I also needed the diversity of multiple planners. My Frankenplanners this year are Classic size but my catch-all and so much more remain in the BIG with easier printables. I'm not a small writer nor do I care to spend copious amounts of time with my paper trimmers.
My only true and BIG advice to newbies and HP fence sitters is DO NOT invest in the HP punch. It's a nightmare. I paid more than the ARC one for my original Big. That's how long ago I bought it. Very disappointing product for sure. I dont have another punch, though. I'd rather hole punch and slit small strips than make the investment right now.
I'm also an avid bullet journaler in the composition size for note taking and Indexed Collections. A business Indexed Collection has made a flip to the correct information for a conversation a life saver. I really couldn't get into the calendar part effort of the bullet journal. Now lined boxes and dashboard HPs make me so complete.

I moved into 2 new Happy Planners for the second half of the year. A classic skinny for my book tracking/stats. And a classic monthly for my normal planning. I started using a new notebook for work notes after starting to work from home during quarantine that I will continue to use. And continue to use a notebook for journaling and hopefully get back to journaling more often.

Thank you so much for sharing, yet again, Sarra! I appreciate all of your efforts to keep your community a safe place for everyone while also being authentic to yourself. Your dragonfly planner is just gorgeous! I’m so glad you were able to find! Both those books sound like wonderful books! I have decided that I need to purchase some more paperback books that are just fun to read. I’ve been using Kindle for fiction. However, I’m also having the worst time sleeping lately. I think it’s time to turn off the screen and get lost in a good story! It is killing me not to read ahead with Beautiful Demons, but I love your voice introducing me to your world. I hope you had a lovely weekend!

Both of those books sound awesome. I love the reading challenge aspect being added to this. I’m always on the lookout for new (or new to me) authors. I feel the same way about the EC thing. I’m going to continue to use what I already had - I got one of the academic planners to help me navigate online school for my daughter next year- because I hate being wasteful. Just FYI, a way you can encourage and uplift black people (I am a black woman) is to stand up for the oppression we face. When you turn a blind eye, you make us feel like we are no longer safe around you. And we start distancing ourselves from those we don’t consider our allies in order to feel safe.

I love you have a gaming notebook. When our oldest was a tiny baby we couldn't afford a sitter, so our date nights were playing World of Warcraft together while I held Olivia in my arms. Sometimes it was just exploring, sometimes battlegrounds, and sometimes questing, but it was a nice break from everything else and it was special family time. I still play 15 years later and still play with that character the most. :)

My first little let go of the furniture and took off running at 6.5 months. Never used a walker again to sit with me while I worked on anything, but Ms Acrobat that I called "scooter" when she crawled so early started climbing out of her crib. We lived in military housing and our floors were white "grocery store like" tile. I had to transition her to a toddler bed for her safety but at the risk of my own sanity.
I had other children in our home throughout the day (and I was a family foster parent, too) so I installed hook loop door locks on 3 of 4 of our bedrooms. These were designed to lock off a room we had successfully cleaned and leave access to a toy room...
This quickly became a real problem to keep her in bed but believing in consistency (her 1st understood word she really learned was consequence) we had a bedtime routine set in place. After she was tucked in and thought to be "asleep," she was right back in my space every night. I think adulting time is important so we always had a night routine and set bedtime.
I purchased a pile of floor pillows with a few books of my own for a few weeks that just moved closer and closer to her door. The hardest part was when the door was between us. I was right on that floor outside her room. Every few minutes, longer as time went along, but never more than 5 minutes, I encouraged her and reminded her I was right there. It really didn't take long until she would get back into her bed exhausted or it became quiet and I'd go in and put her sleeping body back into her bed.
The only parental advice I can give you is always be consistent in your words and actions. Be consistent with house rules and specific consequences as they grow up. This allows a child agency to choose if the consequence is worth the "action/crime." You will quickly learn how smart they really become. Or maybe its clever. Tweaking consequences happened. The worst part was when a consequence punished ME. I had to work my schedule to fit the consequences.
These consequences eventually were rarely challenged. Some days it was longer quiet time for a post-napper that required the "prisoner haha" to be on their bed with a book or two. We are Christian's so as they got older it was their bible. I was such a bad mom. 🙃
Wouldn't it just be easier if they came with instruction manuals and remote controls? Heck, back in that day they were the remote control for a very tired pregnant momma with a pause to put my feet up.
My diet also is a big factor and trigger to my health issues. PCOS is not a walk in the park but I must say that PCOS and Fibromyalgia are on the bottom of my list of daily health challenges. I spent too many years overloaded thinking that self-care was selfish.
Had I learned earlier to say "no" (to other adults) a little more often, took time to sharpen my axe for chopping wood, and getting more sleep, which OCD rob much from me, I wouldn't be as physically broken, I believe.
You got this momma. It's just one step in the rest of her life. Mom guilt is just a fact of life.
Love your channel and all you share. I've told you before that "Believe" quickly moved from my first word of the year to a lifelong word with annual sub-words. I want to be you when I grow up! (BTW, my lil cruiser will be 31 this year.)

I've been going bananas with discs lately! I too have my HB90 goal planner on discs, though I repurposed a Martha Stewart cover and discs for mine. And then I have a disc-bound stack of printables and note paper for every major project I'm working on right now. My recent disc love inspired me to punch index cards and bind them on disks and I'm using them as scene cards. Since they're on discs, I can easily take them off and put them up on a bulletin board, then take them down and put them back on discs if necessary. It brings me such joy. :)

I can't imagine using so many notebooks/planners. I have trouble just keeping up with one and still haven't found the perfect combination for me. I watch all the planning videos trying to find just what might work for my needs and something easy enough that I can keep up with. Too many planners mean lots of confusion to me. I simply need one to keep an easy plan in. All those planners take up a lot of time I would think as well.

    1. I’d love a video on how you make you own notebooks and notebook covers, from printing to laminating, hole punching. Is the gaming cover Ruby from RWBY? We watched that over spring break and loved it!
    2. Another excellent video, thank you. You keep being yourself!
    3. I would love a digital notebook tutorial video too.
    4. Finally, a notebook, pen and book challenge are more than a few of my favorite things, love it!

I love this video, and I love the idea of more info on a notebook in an IPad. I have had one for years, but I have never really been an Apple person, so I would love to have an app that I feel comfortable using on it so I can branch out into more things on it. I also love your in-depth videos on how you use your notebooks and planners. I am a very visual learner, so I really need to see something in action, then write it myself to get things down. I am a lot like you in that I have a TON of notebooks and planners, but I really love to write! I am starting my first novel this quarter, and I will need a new notebook, hint hint, LOL I also like the 0.5 pens. I didn't even know they made a 0.3 until I I saw it in one of your videos. I will have to look for a couple of those. I find it really hard even finding the 0.5's out in the stores. I have some calligraphy in my background, so I also love fountain pens! Again, love the video, and oh! I also love the idea of supporting other writers! I would love to know who in your community are authors, because I would love to support them as well. Having a book or two a month to highlight an author or two would be a fantastic idea. I love your books, and I would love to support other authors, especially indie authors as well. Thank you so much for your great content!

I’m almost done one of my journals. I am doing a religious journal prompt each day which keeps me connected to my Jewish faith. I am using one of my Harry Potter journals as a gratitude journal after my clergy talked about doing it. I am a little more then a month in to my gratitude journal. I am using my purple pen since it’s one of my favorite colors. I am using the pen from the self advocacy group for people with intellectual and developmental since I am a member of the group in my state. We all have disabilities. I am reading Scarlet which is part of the Lunar Chronicles series and then I will be reading the book I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai.

I'm happy that you shared your faith with us and that you have passions about it. I am not Jewish but have a large biblical understanding and find it a passion to research and study other Faith's of my friends and family. I guess I'm big in the education of theology.
I'm currently watching a large lecture series on The Great Courses about The Dead Sea Scrolls to learn more about how Qumron fits into the biblical picture.
I have a big passion to seek beyond a small canonical collection that a group of people just decided, long ago. I would love to have a list of connections to so many writings and journals that were ignored or voted against. These are people's lives and beliefs. I don't find it necessary to believe everything someone else believes to read and learn a little or a lot of their life, thoughts, and beliefs.
I'm really trying hard to add more fiction into my life. It's very hard for me to give much time to not gaining a real-life outlook, but those are also found in fiction. As a writer I look for movies and series television of brilliant writers, as well.
