@@Markeebee100 Mel is of course fantastic but the band were a lot better as a unit with Brian. they had a post-punk/motorik rush that disappeared after he left. SM's live peak was the 81' tour before recording Sons. They're frighteningly great. I think after that their best is '84-ish with Mel and Derek, and the 5x5 tour with Mel and Ged.
Outstanding drummer that period from 79 to 81 was so pioneering
My realization of my love for drums all began because of Brian McGee's work in Simple Minds; McGee totally ROCK's!
Great drummer and dedicated to his craft..good to see your in a good place now
Your some guy Brian. Love you
Brian McGee was undoubtedly the best Minds Drummer in my opinion. He and Derek Forbes set such a tremendous back bone to the earlier Minds Sound.
No, the best line-up for Simple Minds consisted of Mel Gaynor and Derek Forbes, and Mick MacNeill was also brilliant.
Love you Brian ❤
Best drummer they ever had. They were never anywhere near as good after he left.
Sons and Fascination is the best SM album ever
@@preving Empires, Sons/Sisters and New Gold are all masterpieces.
Hmm, I think Mel Gaynor was hardly a drop off. Yes Brian was great though.
