- "This was also written in Mexico. Outside of Cuernavaca, there's a town called Taxco [pronounced "TAS-koh"] and it's more or less on top of a [audience member says something] -- which? -- it's on top of a mountain, many steps, if you want to be cool, to get there. And I've walked these steps. And when I got there -- this was on a weekend -- I entered the city square and fell asleep, as a result of this walk, on a park bench. And I was awakened, I don't know how much time had elapsed, but I was awakened by a little boy who was beating me in the face with a rolled-up newspaper. He was a totally corrupted evil child and he was delighted with himself. He was one of the happiest people I've seen in a while. So naturally I burst into song and this is called Taxco Steps.

That right hand...... And also the left hand. But that right hand!!
Epic. As usual it's an acoustic player showing the way. Check out Tommy Emmanuel too if you haven't already. Leo is awesome, inspirational and makes me go play. 28 years now and I'm not even close to this guy. Play on guitar heads.
No worries mate, no one is close to that guy...
Unblievable. Can never listen to this one too much. His tone is so clear and punchy.
"Go play the E, A, and B major chords over and over, and make it interesting."
Leo Kottke: "No problem."
It is still available

TAXCO IS A BEAUTIFUL TERRACED HILLSIDES ART AND JEWELRY. SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL LIKE THIS SONG. ALTHOUGH I DON'T THINK HIGHLY OF THE CAB DRIVERS.
Absolutely splendid tune!!
Absolute pleasure to see and hear live amaaazing
One of the finest guitarists ever!
MAGIC, MAN!
His two sisters hung out at our Barracks when i was in the Army. I visited their house out near Dules Airport. An was the wild one.
Masterful
Absolutely one of Leos finest. I will be sad when my old VHS of this one wears out...
It was later released on DVD "Home and Away Revisited" and sometimes copies come on Ebay.
luvit
Damn near a percussive instrumental
god he can beat the shit out of a guitar. ripped that beast a new one.
I've heard it said that he can't steer a submarine very well :-)
Can this man ride a guitar or what?
He is an incredible guitar player for sure. When I watch him play I can't help thinking he must be borderline autistic, he seems to enter another world when he plays. Almost beyond human. I guess all great artists have to be.
yup beautiful city... we´re from there.... rate an comment our music plz lol...
If you like this sort of thing, I really recommend 'Karl Culley, Silver Set of Bones'
