M&P reincarnated. Most M&P performances were mimed, it was so difficult to get the harmonies right. I would pay to see these guys do all the M&P songs. As real as it gets.
How much, & how long did they have to practice to get & hit the harmonies right. That is not an easy task!! Some artists are just blessed & it comes naturally. Maybe that was the case for the M& Ps & just maybe it was for this group of actors. BUT probably NOT. I see a lot of hard work. It only takes one to be slightly off & the whole group falls.i tip my hat to you. Multiple thumbs up!!!
Thanks Randal! It's a jukebox musical I wrote about Cass Elliot's life called Call Me Cass. I did a ton of staged readings and this is the first workshop production (from 2018) but I haven't been able to do a ton with it since Covid (theatres closed)
It sure would be nice if you would post the credits, and even nicer to see the whole show, or at least more excerpts from it. Tribute bands have been hot for years (think Pump Boys & Dinettes, Jersey Boys) and your show -- assuming you are still working on it -- falls right into that category. Good luck!
Hiya. I'm Margaret Edwartowski and I wrote the show and play Cass in it. I'd been told my whole life that I looked like her and I grew up listening to her music. I wrote this show and have been workshopping it in the Metro Detroit area for the last 10-ish years. This was our first legit workshop production in 2018. Thanks for watching!
@@MargaretEdwartowski : Amazing music from an amazing group. There were a lot of great harmonizing songs in that era. My all time favorite song is "I'd Like to Get To Know You" by Spanky and Our Gang. Spanky sounded a lot like Cass to me. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed this production and I'm sure the kids acting in it and the audience there did too. I hope all of them came away as new Mamas and Papas fans if they weren't already before. Was their meeting with Lou Adler similar as it was portrayed here, or did the Mamas and Papas have to go through a lot of doors to reach stardom? Thanks.
@@PalaniRides this is a little dramatized, but they all were friends with Barry McGuire who set them up with Lou Adler. It really was a whirlwind once he gave them the go ahead and I read accounts about the cash, car, and house they were set up with right away. What a time!
It does! Fingers crossed that I can get this show further! And I've had so many kind comments from folks in the UK, I'd love to bring it there. Thanks for watching.
I love this song!
I would love to see the whole show
Love the harmonies- especially the guy doing Denny Doherty's part, This is a great find! I grew up listening to the M&Ps.
That is amazing. Thank you for putting so much effort into it, all of the involved.
Always one of my fav M&P's tunes. You do it well. Tks. Made my day.

Hi Stan! We had a four week rehearsal process. And you're right, those harmonies were challenging to learn!
Just Awesome 👏
Someone, PLEEEAASE tell me what this is from?? This is freaking AWESOME!!

How did this come about? Who are the actors here? Is this a college workshop or something like that? Loved it!

So great hearing this music without Lou Adler's overproduction.
Where can I see this, it needs to be in London
It does! Fingers crossed that I can get this show further! And I've had so many kind comments from folks in the UK, I'd love to bring it there. Thanks for watching.
XO
Thank you for posting. Is this from Denny’s play?
Thanks for watching! It's from a show I wrote about Cass.
Super :-)
This was awkward.
