I've done my research, unlike 95% of the people that try to prove points on here. I'm tired of people bashing and hating one of the most incredible electronic artists just because they don't understand the complexity of these songs and how long they take to make.
It's unfinished so he mixes that drop into a couple of his more popular songs live. You can find it on youtube as Lick It Down. There will be more than one version for sure.
It has rhythm, a melody, which is defined as music. You're hearing different synthesizers, in which the producer (skrillex) modulates how the waveforms and how they travel through the instrument essentially creating a new, never before created sound.
0:00-0:05 - Skrillex, 12th Planet, Kill The Noise - Right On Time 0:06-0:55 -Fucking Die 3\SM&NS VIP (Unreleased) 0:55-1:57 - Avicii - Levels (Skrillex Remix) 1:58-2:10 - Skrillex & The Doors - Breakin' A Sweat 2:10-2:59 - Skrillex & Damian Marley - Welcome To Jamrock Remix\Rude Boy Bass (Unreleased) 3:00 - Chuckie - Who Is Ready To Jump (Dillon Francis Remix)
This is the first video i watched that made me like dubstep, i believe i watched this back in 0ctober 2012 , i was close minded before so, ever since i started getting in to this, it opened up a tear that i was missing out on for a long time
I used to be one of those people who thought it was all just pressing a button, that's because I'm a classically trained jazz trumpeter who has moved on to Contemporary jazz guitar, Once I started producing my first album and initially attempted to integrate the sounds designed using synths, my mind was blown at the complexities with Dubstep and EDM. for sure the songs are not complicated, but the engineering and basic design behind every sound is astronomically complex ^-^
One of the best artists that I like thier the best.As soon that one of freinds started listening to this I started to listen To Skrillex too.As soon as I hear them playing they were AWESOME!
Skrillex - Scary Bolly Dub. Avicii - Levels (Skrillex Remix). Skrillex & The Doors - Breakn N' Sweat. Damian Marley - Welcome To The Jamrock (Skrillex Remix).Skrillex & Damian Marley - Make It Bun Dem.
Omg I was there and almost died there in the middle trying to see him! People were going fucking crazy, now I can see what he was doing haha awesome show
Classical music was all the rage in its time. The majority of people have different tastes now. You have to accept the fact that things change over 300 years, ya know.
That true if you put aside the fact that there are preset drum and synth/instrument patters and tones, built in arpeggiators, easy to access effects, rhythm can be calculated, huge production value because its built in software, there is no technical skill as to play in rhythm, intricacy or speed even if you compose it thanks to the software, and that understanding anything about the effects on sound is placed right in front of you with visual EQ's for all your perfectly tuned instruments.
Have you ever attempted sound synthesis? It's EXACTLY as you defined music; "the science or art of ordering tones or sounds in succession, in combination, and in temporal relationships to produce a composition having unity and continuity". While you may not have a fond taste of the theme and feel associated with most genres of bass music, it still is music. It just has different music theory than traditionally used and may take longer to understand when directly compared to classical theory.
he always uses his M audio trigger finger witch to use it you need a laptop or computer for the USB and he uses Ableton for the MIDI controls to remix a little
Actually, it takes a lot. You don't use "instrument noises" like a guitar, or piano, you use a sine wave from a synthesizer. You have to understand sound waves and manipulation, filtering, mixing, compression, etc to be able to pull off the kind of things he is doing. AND you have to understand the core of music, timing, writing and melody to make music to begin with. So if you break it down, electronic producers are better musicians than most people that you consider musicians.
It's not a Fucking Die remix as he's also done a version with SMaNS as the lead-up. It's just a live thing he does. Judging by samples it may be called "break it down", but no one knows. Wait for the release!
- I have about 3 videos from this show! I havent posted them yet, I may post in the next 2 days, if anyone wants to see! Just to warn ya though, they may be very quiet vids, cuz I didnt know how my new camera would do during loud shows, and Ive tryed listening to my vids, and there very quiet to me. :-( oh well though, haha.
