When it comes to chase sequences, Rockstar really hits all the right musical notes. This and "Horseplay" (Red Dead Redemption) are treasures in my playlist.

Television Series
LA Confidential (which I watched after I played the game) was the heaviest inspiration for this game. Give it a watch, it's fantastic!

It would be TV series, NOT a 2 hour long movie.
I actually liked the fact that you really only ever use the M1911 in shootouts. I felt really familiar with that gun by the end of the game. It felt like an extension of the Phelps character.
It basically is since he carried one all through his career in the military and the police. (Except for that one time he was forced to use a revolver as a patrol man)
On occasions if you were still near the car you could pull out the shotgun from the trunk.
Pulling out the Thompson or shotgun and just going apeshit were some of the best moments of the game for me
Dont tell me you hate the M1911 it has infinite ammunition and you can shoot really fast with it

i am so glad i finally found this! i would always hear this during car chases and everyone kept pointing me to the wrong song, telling me it was on the soundtrack. so happy i found it. so so so happy.

Me and my friends used to blast this when we would do our foot chases during a nice game of Cops n Robbers. Of course I was always the cop because I was the fastest runner and having the ability to run for extended periods of time. Sure was good times then, don't think I could do that again since i'm older.

For all you YT nerds out there, if you look at the stats of this video, this blows dead on at 0.0DB audio loudness normalization. Official record label uploads also get very close to this.
Measure that in RMS as a benchmark to minimize how much this platform meddles with your music mixes before processing. The less it has to compensate the better the end result.

I know it skews it the hotter or quieter depending on the source, but we can have some control, we need every advantage we can get.

@TechnicalJaguar Yeah, main problem with the vice desk is that all the cases take place in Hollywood (Which is the top left of the map) yet for some reason a good half of the street crimes take place in Central (Bottom right)
