- In this video, we replace the transmission oil and filter on an Audi A4 equipped with a 0AW continuous variable automatic transmission using high-quality SWAG lubricants. These lubricants offer optimum friction behaviour - guaranteeing great wear protection in all operating conditions and ensuring that the oil continues to protect the transmission to keep it working efficiently and effectively.
This sophisticated transmission requires regular oil and filter changes to keep the compact link-chain - which transfers force between the two variable conical pulleys - bathed in oil.
The speed at which the output shaft is rotating is synchronised with the driveshaft changes, altering the gear ratio along with it. This leads to seamless gear changes with low internal friction and high efficiency, allowing the engine to operate within its optimal range.

I had slipping problem after oil change. They did not change oil filter which got clogged and caused low oil flow. You have to change oil filter every time you change oil because new oil will wash away dirt and other particles stuck on the walls and parts of gearbox components. That s why is soo important to change it on regular service intervals recommended by manufacturer. If you let it go too much driven over recommended service interval its better to do it 2 to 3 times oil and filter change in short intervals to wash out all dirt inside and get caught by filter. This is my experience.
For mine the mechanic has changed only the oil . Now i have to change oil filter by my self . Can i only remove the old filter oil and put the new filter oil? And go on with driving normally?
Thank you for watching our video. If only the filter is replaced, there will also be some transmission oil loss. It would be recommended to recheck the oil level as described in this video.
Why not pour the oil in the filter hole ?

Can you change just oil filter and not loosing oil pressure inside a gearbox ?
You’ll lose any oil in the pipes

@ answer is you may need to top up missing oil. When you remove the pipe you may lose 1-2L of oil. Safer to change full oil unless you measure it all

@SWAG1954 Yes, the adapter that screws into the gearbox to allow you to pump the fluid back into the gearbox
@@scott2735 The thread size is M22 x 1.5 x 10mm. We used Laser adaptor 4988 in this video with the filler tool 4792.
Great video. I have a couple questions, do you check the transmission oil level with the engine still running? And I assume you let the oil gently flow until it stops, and then remove the adapter and replace the drain plug? Thanks.
