The Buckeyes would finish #2 in the nation after winning their first Rose Bowl since January 1, 1974, handing the Sun Devils their only loss of the season. The previously-third-ranked Florida Gators would end up winning the national championship after defeating the then-top-ranked Florida State Seminoles 52-20 in the Sugar Bowl. Had the Sun Devils won the game, they would likely had a claim to at least the AP national championship, since they would have been the only undefeated team in the nation. They ultimately finished fourth in both polls, behind Florida, Ohio State and Florida State.
As far as I'm concerned, this was the _REAL_ national championship of the 1996 season. The best Arizona State team of all time vs the second best Big Ten team of the 90's (behind 1994 Penn State, tied with 1997 Michigan for second, just my opinion). This team absolutely bulldozed their opponents save for a bad half against Michigan, including a 38-7 win against a phenomenal Penn State team. This Arizona State team was unreal good, they had almost no weaknesses, they were a lot like the 2004 USC team for a more modern reference. It's just baffling that Ohio State didn't get to share the national title after this performance.
Michigan handed the Buckeyes their only loss that season. Ohio State would be National Champs if not for that loss. Michigan was THE killer of dreams that year.
Blake, the 1994 Orange Bowl FSU vs. Nebraska, speaking of close controversial national championship bowl games. I would love to see your take on it. :) Great job yet again sir.
I mean at least Auburn fans had class act after that game. Ohio State didn’t even celebrate their win, they just celebrated the loss of Oregon and Bama.
Arizona State went 12-0 in 1975, when it was still a member of the WAC, and The Sporting News chose them over 11-1 Oklahoma. Some obscure selector also picked them in 1970, when they went 11-0.
In 1996, the Rose Bowl wasn't part of any bowl deals. It was still straight Pac-10 vs. Big 10 champion, regardless of national championship consideration. If Arizona State had won, it would have won the national championship as the nation's only unbeaten team.

Harris Highlights go bucks
Harris Highlights You should do either Dalvin Cook's best game (2016 vs USF) or Dalvin Cook's record setting game (2016 Syracuse)
What is the background music called
I bet that’s a tough one to watch as an asu fan Blake. Sorry

I agree, there’s no way we couldn’t claim this title along with Florida because we both had losses then won against a top 2 opponent.
Ohio State University: The killer of dreams.
Michigan handed the Buckeyes their only loss that season. Ohio State would be National Champs if not for that loss. Michigan was THE killer of dreams that year.
That would be Iowa!
@@CrazyWeatherDude I'm a buckeye fan and id say that is more Iowa also
Spot on description.
I miss brent musburger voice
dee Thompson ....said no one ever
Bet they would have won it all if they had Zane Gonzalez on that team!
Zane would have had four field goals, including two from 50 yards out, as well as a passing, rushing, and receiving touchdown
Kos Sports Or anyone from Chatoonoga
😬😬
As much as I hate Arizona st as an Arizona fan, I’ve gotta back the pac. Would’ve been so cool to have a championship in Arizona.
Arizona would have had the football and basketball national champs in the same calendar year. UA won the b-ball tournament in 97 also
Really love what you’re doing with the channel great content and on a consistent basis. Love it
Pat Tillmans last game for ASU if I'm not mistaken.

That wasn't a touchdown catch in the first half lol, it would have been reviewed and overturned if this game had been played recently
This is the game that made me a Sports fan as well as an Ohio State Fan
Only real ones remember... even though I wouldn't be alive for 26 more years...
ASU did win that game.. David Boston's foot was touching the out of bounce line when he caught that touchdown pass. The refs gave it to Ohio State.
“You can cut a snake’s head off, but he continues to live!” Lol these uploads are great!
I just find it so ironic that the QB who led Ohio State to victory over Arizona State (Joe Germaine) is FROM Arizona.
You had to put your boys in a vid! Nice.
Had to!
You took it way back
That looked exactly like Auburn vs FSU in 2013. Sane exact stadium too. Insane.
what you should do: Give information about the game, the date, etc. in the description instead of a pinned comment, idk just my opinion
What it would’ve done for that program if they won that game... would’ve been huge
GOATS

Oregon Ducks Football/Basketball yeah but....Dyer happened ur Ducks lost me money that day smh....
Air Max If only they had knew the RB’s knee was not down. Very Heartbreaking field goal smh.
And they were 4 whole quarters away in 2014
Eric Collins Oh we have another d bag Ohio State fan trolling nice.
I mean at least Auburn fans had class act after that game.
Ohio State didn’t even celebrate their win, they just celebrated the loss of Oregon and Bama.
They called the qb a snake
I watch all of your vids Blake.... However, I am not going to be able to watch this... Makes me sick😣😖😢
Teedog 84 my condolences sir. I felt your pain in 2013...

What year?

so these two games were set up like the college football playoff.. why was the 2 playing 4 and 1 playing 3.. something doesnt make sense..

I hate both teams, but thank you Buckeyes for denying TTUN glory!
