As I watched this, I kept yelling at you to stop adding more, but they both turned out beautifully! You continually amaze me and I appreciate that so much! Thank you Steve 😊!!!
I've become a huge fan of deep pour \ slow cure resin for all of my projects. I use the liw viscosity Let's Resin 2:1 and even though it's only maybe $2 more than my old Shabebe resin, the clarity is much better, and the slow curing and low viscosity allows for 95% of the bubbles to be removed through sitting after mixing, and then after pouring, i can remove 4% more bubbles by plonking the mold in a hot water bath.
*.. I used a lot less alcohol (ink) in this one ...* had me chuckling Steve after your first: a splash more, more, more more!! Green reminders me Blue Mt Pottery so pretty while your "black+white" is magically stunning!👌👍👍😉
The streaks are an interesting effect, and must be something the curves of the sphere create, I haven't seen that on other resin creations. They are very magical! I still haven't had a chance to get a deep pour resin to try the sphere molds, and I need to see if I can find those lamp based in the EU Amazon, so I won't break any regulations. We have finally some warmee weather on the way, so I can do resin stuff, I've been using a baby bottle warmer to keep everything at the perfect temperature, while freezing myself in my workspace. The things you'll do for art. 😂
Hi Steve! This looks great! Amazing timing, as I JUST this past week, tried (successfully!) a petri effect in the top part of the Lets Resin skull mold and it looks FANTASTIC!! I used JDictions Deep Pour, poured it up to about halfway through the eye sockets, and then added my inks and only one layer of C Deeper- just looking for weird and cool little formations to form. The next day, I added the remainder of the skull volume in black and then waited two days to demold. It's AWESOME. Looks like a lot going on in this skull's cranium! I think there's a LOT to explore with alcohol inks and slow-cure resin. Absolutely love your channel and have been a fan since you started. I'm not on social media, but if I was, I'd be a member! Thanks for all you do!
This is gorgeous! I’ve seen some people use 91% isopropyl alcohol to spray into the mold to release the resin. Is this okay to do or is alcohol not safe to use with epoxy resin?
Beautiful! I think it would be cool if you sawed off pieces of the dome. Not sure if it’s possible to do that but each “slice” would be different (maybe) and beautiful!
Love it. One thing I did (not a deep pour tho) is pour about half or even 3/4 full, drop your inks, then pour more resin - I was specifically trying to move the ink away from the walls (and using small pyramid) so I poured the clear down the sides and then I inked up a bit more or if I poured most of the way up, I didn't re-ink and then you don't have to saw the bottom. Also, it pushes the ink around differently. I actually didn't want the ink on the sides personally - I was going for a more wispy effect.
Never quite got the look I wanted, but all my "failures" still made fun gifts! The joy of resin: it does what it wants and not what I want it to do - usually, the resin is smarter...lol
Beautiful, you're such an inspiration. Your videos are a breath of fresh air, very informative, quick watches, great experiments and ideas, i love them all ❤
Also, try curing from different angles. Flip over. Sometimes if it is a more intricate pattern, I think the UV lamps might just sort of not get into all nooks and crannies so I just stick it outside for awhile.
@@jodimarie379 I've done all that and even keep trying to cure it after demolding. I then tried to wipe with alcohol and that doesn't help it. I think I might try another brand. thank you!
Very cool! I love how the first one turned out. It almost looks like Jade to me. Beautiful as always , Steve! 🤗Thank you for showing that to us all. The second one does look mystical. ❤
The second one has a face in it. Anyone else seen it. Love it I always over judge the white with alcohol inks. Wish we could find a good chart to work them out
I once was using Alumilite Clear in a 4" deep mold and the temperature increased to 99 degrees C. (210 f). Would casting in a cold environment help keep the problems of excess heat down? Or is it about switching to a deep pour resin?
I did an experiment with a deep pour mold of bear and seal and shark molds the real large ones . The shark I did do alittle pushing like you did but the seal and bear I just let it sink naturally. I did 2 colors and white sinker. Over and over. Then I didn't touch it. It slowly sunk down. The color didn't reach to fully color seal head but I did run out of sinker to add more color. Bear was fully covered in ink that turned out really cool! I used c deeper letscresin and piñata. Piñata becasue I ran out of c deeper. Wonder if affects would be different with piñata since I heard it's heavier?
I would of used Jdiction deep pour not teexperts deep pour resin because I've got pieces using teexperts resin that are almost a year old and they have yellowed one piece a canvas I didn't have level I put down the side of a cupboard so sunlight couldn't get to it direct and it's yellowed absolutely gutted as it was a costly clock that I now need to carefully sand as close to the canvas as possible and then add new resin with slight colour to it so you can't see the nasty yellowing 😞😢😉👌
As I watched this, I kept yelling at you to stop adding more, but they both turned out beautifully! You continually amaze me and I appreciate that so much! Thank you Steve 😊!!!
Awesome test and results Steve! One of my followers asked me to try this a while ago, will try this week and see what I get 🙈

I love how the second one came out better. I don't know what color you used in it, but it looks like black and white.
Oh gosh! This has my head filled with a million ideas!! I have the perfect mold to give this a go!!!!!!!
I love 💕 the blue one best
Wow awsome. I thought about getting into resin but been scared too. Thanks for all yoir videos
This has given me a great idea for Halloween & for the bay window at Christmas time. The blue & white one I LOVE!!! I love your videos. Thank you.
Liked both.
I wonder what would happen if the resin was allowed to set for a time before adding the inks...
Love that second one! Love that you do all these experiments so we can see how things might turn out! You are BRILLIANT!!!
Liked the black and white sphere the best. TFS!❤
Thank you. It was hard to show the magic inside both of them on camera. 😊
That blue and white blew me away. Love that effect. Great idea. I’ve a lot of orb molds here. Will definitely attempt the blue one. That’s my fav. ❤
I'd love to see the first one with the light with the flat side up. It looked so cool too.
I LOVE that dark one, those patterns in the light look amazing. Fantastic ideas!
These are so pretty! The first on seemed to have such a Depth when looking at the bottom! 😊😊😊❤❤
Those are so cool! They look really amazing on the light, especially the second one! I love it!
the 2nd one looks like a planet for a sci fi movie, very, very cool
Beautiful! 😊💕

Lol. There is nothing we won’t put up with for our arts and crafts 😂
They came out awesome
Both are absolutely gorgeous!!!
Fabulous job on both Steve!!!✌️
Looks like a lit up marble. The second is amazing but I do like the first as you can see the patterns without the light. Another project well done 😊
I'm glad you mentioned you added quite a lot of ink cause watching you continue to add more ink I was just like, "That's sooo much. Please stop." lol

The second one is really cool - those dark lines look like soundwaves or something!

This is beautiful. One of my favorite color combos. I love your channel❤️

I like them both, but the second one intrigues me. How did you get the streaks down the side? Almost looks likea heartbeat.

These are amazing! May I ask, what kind of saw did you use to cut off the bottom? I have a small bandsaw, and wonder if that would work.
Beautiful, you're such an inspiration. Your videos are a breath of fresh air, very informative, quick watches, great experiments and ideas, i love them all ❤
Hi Elizabeth. I don't collect anything Dtar Wars, but the pins look like they are a nice size. The Jumbo one looks cool. TFS
loved them both
Love the second one you did Steve!!! Great experiment
These are really cool! When I use UV Resin it always turns out tacky/sticky. I don't know what I am doing wrong. I use JDiction uv resin.
Also, try curing from different angles. Flip over. Sometimes if it is a more intricate pattern, I think the UV lamps might just sort of not get into all nooks and crannies so I just stick it outside for awhile.
Same problem for me, I find putting it out in the sun does it just fine though (or on a brightly lit windowsill).
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts brand new lamps. thank you.
@@jodimarie379 I've done all that and even keep trying to cure it after demolding. I then tried to wipe with alcohol and that doesn't help it. I think I might try another brand. thank you!
@@kristalvance7715 some brands cure to sticky- especially those designed for nail art. The ones that are LED and UV seem to cure much harder.
Those came out just beautiful

I'm going to try this but I'll let my mixed resin rest for some hours to thicken before adding the colours.
These are really beautiful Steve, I love them both but the black and white one is superb! 💕
It reminds me of aa abstract world globe. Pretty
First congratulations on you new King! I like the second one, less white and cool eye catching inside textures! Create on my friend!
Hi Steve, Thank you for sharing your experiment I thought they both turned out lovely but the second one turned out really super cool 👍❤️
Hi Steve, what is your thoughts on Magic Resin deep pour before I buy it
Thank you for your video! Sorry I didn’t get.. is white also alcohol inc? Or dense resin color?
love watching your videos!!
Hi, new subscriber. Love your videos Can i use the goopy sticky resin for anything .
The second one has a face in it. Anyone else seen it. Love it I always over judge the white with alcohol inks. Wish we could find a good chart to work them out
Im wondering if that first one was cut into slices (coasters?) how cool those patterns would be?
Thanks again Steve! ❤❤❤ Awesome video ❤
What would it look like halved vertically? I think it would make good bookends.
They are so cool
I can only get a small amount of resin each month , but friends love what I make

What type of saw did you use to cut off the bottom?
Those r different... cool 😎
Lovely!!!
I actually love the second one the best. Finding the best resins, especially UVs is still difficult for me…
Love them 😊
Love it!!
I love watching resin - almost as fun as slow motion kaleidoscope
Thanks!
So cool!!
So cool
What does sinker do? Why do you need it?
Wow that's alot!
Looks like the earth
Moons!
You should make those and slice them into pendants.
Why does the white sink but the other colors dont?
Weird, but I only got audio, no video except a still picture that has "Can you guess what happens?"
Never have had this happen before.
I wouldn't of used the stick I would of just let the alcohol inks and sinker do its own thing because the results are far nicer but still looks ok
It’s like you’re compulsively adding those pigments at a certain point.
Did this 2 weeks ago for a jar, turned into an absolute mess that never cured

I'm pretty sure you said before that all alcohol inks fade...
