They perma banned me for allegedly writing harrassing game reviews.. so probably some angry devs did report me that put out broken games and i rated low and probably Microsoft didn't liked this too(no money for reviews about broken games) .. lol still waiting for more information from them.
Many many years ago when I worked with xbox enforcement everyone just had regular gamertags. We were in the 'gamertag" dept and were used in implimenting the system they use now. All that stuff is now handled by a computer and rarely is an actual person even when they say it's handled by a person. Lots of people would actually fall for this type crap.
I believe the answer will be yes. I’d rather not press my luck and try and neither should you Sacramento just saying. If I knew someone was faking being Xbox support and I worked for Xbox support(like literally work for) I would ban you for a month no communication and etc. Of course I don’t work for Xbox but I’m just pointing out if I did. You would be lucky for two weeks if I was in a happy mood.

They do ask you for your email address as confirmation if you own the account or as a away to communicate with you with updates to a support request
