I had a 69 RoadRunner in the mid 70s-late 80s. I ran Cragars, the decided to go with the sleeper look in the mid 80s. I took off the Cragars and went with the black steelies and Dog Dish caps just like in this video.
I own a set of those Hurst/Olds's wheels, General Motors do Brasil, built for many years a car named Opala (a version of Opel Rekord C). They're 14 inches, painted in silver, but lots of gearheads changed this paint. Some get inspired by those Husrt/Olds, some did other scheme. My 1976 Chevrolet Opala SS, came new with some late 60s Pontiac Firebird's inspiration wheels (as shown in this video). But when I purchase this car, someone took those and but a set of regular wheels. Original SS wheels are expensive, so I decided to buy other (was original in Opala SS from 1977 thur 1980).
can you do a video of top ten hood scoops of muscle cars, my favorate is the hood scoops of the 71 gto judge,in my opinion it looks more aggressive than the 68-70 gto judge hood scoops.
This is an opinion that these are the top 10. How can you have a top 10 list without the Pontiac honeycomb or snowflake wheels? Nothing about the recalled Mopar wheels. Nothing about the mag looking hubcaps on the Shelby Mustangs, face it you guys swung and missed on this one.
I Atlas wheels were sexy back in the day. Those by far would have been my number 1 wheel. Little shocked the very popular Chevy Rally wheel didn't make the cut. The price on the 14" version was too high for me back in the day, didn't care for the look of 15's on my Nova, so I went with the SS wheels. Loved the look aftermarket classic Center Lines that were very popular in the late 80's-90's on muscle cars. Today I think the alloy Chevy rally wheels are the awesome still would limit the diameter to 16" as I think these cars look silly with huge rims and low profile tires. Plus 50's still give you a decent ride with those older suspensions.
there was a set of kelsey hayes stripper wheels at a swap meet I went to a year ago, they wanted 3 grand for them! I love them though, I bet they would look good on a first gen camaro as well...
Hello! 9:15 MMMmmm maybe and no. '69 Firebirds had 14 by 6 Rally 2s and could be ordered with 14 by 7 Rally 2s. Trans Ams had 14 by 7s.either Rally 2 or standard stee with poverty cap. The deep (3 in.) dish trim rings indicate 14 by 7 wheels. 14 by 6 Rally 2s have a 2" face and a 3/4" U-shaped valve slot.Rally 2s were painted Grey and silver, not black and silver.
Chevy Rallye, Pontiac Honeycomb, Motor Wheel Spyders.....CENTERLINES...on most anything. MOON DISCS... on just about anything, including trailers. CRAGAR S/S in every size...NON unilug.
The gold snowflake wheels on the modified 1976 Trans Am used in the Smokey and the Bandit film are quite beautiful.
Cragar SS mags are number one hands down!
All good. The best looking wheels are those Cragar S/S shown behind you during the talk!
#1 magnum 500. Probably the most popular wheel ever
Excellent video as usual!! Thanks Kevin! Magnum 500's are my fave.
My brother had a 65 Galaxie he ran the America Racing Tq. Thrust, then went with Cragars.
Very nice and interesting piece. I'm waiting to impress my friends with the difference between original & over-the-counter Shelby 350GT wheels...!
loved my 66 Mustangs styled steel wheels also the Cougar version, , of these the Buick my favorite
fun vid...great idea to showcase some of the aspects that come together to make a muscle car what it is.
Buick road wheels are my favorite next to the mustang and cougar wheels, chrome accents. I like the blue center cap with a cougar the best
I like the Mopar Magnum 500's....just plain cool💯😎
They all look cool!

Great episode, really enjoyed it
Actually, on the edited version of this episode, coming in at #11 are Cragar mag wheels. There! now I feel better!
I agree 100% everyone in the 1970's had to have them

American Mags like on Steve McQueens 69 mustang, great looking wheel
Awesome wheels and cars

That's a great idea but for the shakers would be 1,2,3 IMO
Very good idea! I vote for 1. Air Grabber 2. Ramcharger 3. Six Pak scoops. Mopar knew how to go BIG in the world of scoops.
15x8 chevy rally wheel is number1. ask anyone at a car show, if they're honest!
You just can't beat a Corvette rally!!!!!

my old 82 olds firenza sx coupe had rims like the hurst olds 442
Pontiac gold snowflake ws6 wheel is my favorite

There are so many cool wheels, 10 just doesn't cover them all. We dig Rallys too... maybe the next wheel special we'll share their story! Thanks!
It's all good learned a few things I didn't know so it's was another great video.
The heavy Chevy wheels are a good looking wheel
100% agree on your number one
there was a set of kelsey hayes stripper wheels at a swap meet I went to a year ago, they wanted 3 grand for them! I love them though, I bet they would look good on a first gen camaro as well...
I personally have the shelby 10 spokes on my 1967 they have the valve stem through the lip not the wheel.
I could never decide I love them all
I’m surprised the Corvette Stingray knock-off OEM wheels weren’t mentioned in this video. Very enjoyable video, though!
Torque thrust .
Those Buick GS wire hubcaps are poopy pants wheels!! Road Wheels or steelies with poverty caps please.
The Corvette Rally wheel I like as well ....

WTF!!?? Cragar should be # 1. Everybody at one point had a set of Cragars.
This guy sounds like Ron Swanson.
8:40 Looks like the Magnum 500 wheel.
What about Cragar????
Steelies!!!!
No Cragar s/s or the classic aluminum slots of the day ??? Blasphemous...
@@JamesPetit1 The discussion is about factory wheel offerings
Wait is this Ron Swanson?
the 87 buick GNX rims
Are these the same as Pontiac GTA rims with GNX caps ?
Chevy Rallye, Pontiac Honeycomb, Motor Wheel Spyders.....CENTERLINES...on most anything. MOON DISCS... on just about anything, including trailers. CRAGAR S/S in every size...NON unilug.
Where's the Chrysler Road Wheel??
What no Hurst wheels?
What about Chevy rally rims on the Camaros
Black wheels belong on Amish buggy's
The last one... it does stand out, but dam it looks so awful...
It's the ugly duckling.
Even if you like it, you know it is dog ugly...!
