I tested object shredder a lot. The short answer is that it does a lot honestly, and adds a very respectable amount of value when dealing with objects of all sorts. HOWEVER being a fairly good OS weapon doesnt cut it. I think a weapon needs to be exceptionally good with OS to justify the skill slot, especially in the current meta. Whats OS going to do against cooler? Or Zooka? Or Jet? There were a lot of games where OS had almost zero impact, and I dont think the value I got in the games where it was useful justify the slot.
As someone who used to play dualie squelchers and has a five alarm helmet filled with run speed from maining hydra, I think this weapon might be destined for me.
I randomly felt like watching splatoon content and now I DESPERATELY wan't to play the game, but I don' have a goddamn console :( Is there any way to play on PC?
I have to try these in ranked mode to see if they're really better than dualie squelchers for me...I find the extra flexibility with more rolls and less end lag on DS help me not die so much. I also main RBD and use splash and TT splattershot on clam blitz & RM
I feel like the dousers have a way better spread mode than the dualie squelchers? Like, they don’t seem like as much of a tickle weapon as the squelchers do. I also wonder if more aggro gear builds would be viable if the weapon got an end lag buff to its dodge roll. Either way it’s a lot of fun to play! It’s nice having a long range dualie
It is better than Dualie Squelchers because the bullets are larger. So even though the spread might be exactly the same or worse, the shots hit more frequently because of the bullet hitbox
I actually do use the dodge roll to secure kills & defensive maneuvering vs frontline slayers, so I personally find value in Ink Saver Main. I have used object shredder with these though & they don’t really use it well. Fought several Big Bubblers with it and it isn’t quick about removing them.
Fair, but I don't personally think dousers should be in a position to have to do that frequently. They're often spaced back to utilize their range. The only times you'd need to use the dodge roll are if you get rushed or are forced to be aggro on a push
Honestly I just started using the dowser dulles and I found out I don't like hopping so I decided ink saver for aggressive Frontline and I've been getting so Manny wins but Honestly I've been prioritizing the rolls and I've gotten so many splats so yeah maybe one day with the jumps Edit: OK I give up I will use hopping thx chase:)
Here is my dulles build 2 main ink saver(i just like it it makes me fell like i can actually battle if i am forsed to use dodge rolls and a main of ink recovery because even though i dont run out of ink to mutch when i do its almost a definite splat for the enimies and 2 subs of run speed up one sub of intensify action( im new at dulles hopping) 3 subs of special charge up is realy good in my game play, one sub resistance, one ink resistance, one quick super jump in my opinion i realy like this and its super fun but i really like your gear build to chase😎
I think running some ink saver main can help, personally I find the dodge roll can be used to engage with opponents and make aggressive plays, I’m shocked you said you don’t roll much with them.
The weapon isn't intended to roll a lot. If you're rolling super often you're probably playing it too aggro. As I say in the video, the main saver from comeback can help with this as well
@@Chase247 I think it’s just my own unique strategy that I’ve developed over playing them since the patch dropped. I’ll take what you said in the video into consideration but personally I find the turret mode is so good for getting behind enemies, especially since the roll has a very good distance to trick other players. I’ve found success with it but I’m just a solo q player tho not competitive like you are!! Love you chase
@@Chase247 I love your videos you’re the reason I picked up dualies in the first place! They’re so mechanically complex it’s only natural so many different things can be done with them
Weird, i actually thought of using run speed but for a different reason. Is it real that dodges are faster with run speed up? I just thought that because the dodges were longer they would need to be faster
Its so weird to see a different building of abilities, I'm so used to putting the QSJ on the shoes because thats what matters, is it better to have QSJ dissconnevted from Stealth?
I hope the next kit for Dousers is like Torpedo + Inkjet or Super Chumps, Torpedo can work with softening opponents and distracting them for potential dodge roll attacks, Inkjet is just overall good and it isn't on a dualie yet so having it in the dualie that can only dodge once feels like a kind of balance, Super Chumps could be good too though as it's quick like Killer Wail for near instant ink refills and the chumps could work as small shields for dodge rolls
I've been experimenting with qr and just rushing down the other team like a tetra. It works alright in soloq but I definitely found myself gravitating towards a more passive playstyle with this weapon. I will definitely have to experiment.
But again, as I say in the video, you aren't dodge rolling super often... if you just learn to manage your ink well it's really not much of an issue. I very rarely run out of ink with this thing And the included main saver from comeback helps also
Nah I was getting way more questions about the gear and this video was much easier to make. The douser guide itself will take a lot more time, no point in delaying this one
Honestly the only other ability I’d recommend for the current Douser Dualies is a sub of Special Power Up! It increases the duration by nearly 10%, so it gives you around 50-60% more Wail output in a single match depending on how often you can farm them. For just a single value sub, I’d say it’s worth it
10% is still 10%, even if you do it 5-6 times the base value and bonus increase proportionately. Even so, if it is 10% and you use your special a lot it is still good
@@Septembergirl10 Honestly phrased it a bit incorrectly here oops, meant it moreso as increasing the amount of time wail is active by around +.5 wail uses per game. For example if you output 5 wails in a game (15 seconds) then you’d have an uptime of around 5.5 wails in total (16.5 seconds)
I’ve been running thermal ink on these and finding it great! Staying mid line and patiently combining the location information of: your teammates engaging, thermal, killer wail targets and the ink mine tags mean you can assist with so many fights and control areas.
Not as crazy as you, but I've dabbled a bit in this weapon since it came out. I don't find much value in more than 1 sub intensify action (not gonna be jumping much as max range) or main saver, but everything else you say has been beautifully summarized my thoughts! I personally have liked Comeback (2 subs charge up 1 sub swim intensify action) Run speed (2 subs run speed 1 sub quick jump) Stealth jump (2 subs ink resistance 1 sub swim speed)
This is my current build. Feel free to critique it and give me some pointers. LDE, 2Ink saver mains, 1special charge up Respawn punisher, 2quick respawns, 1special saver up Stealth jump, 3special power ups I usually play Tenta tek Splattershot and either of the splat Dualies. Really want to make a Thermal Ink set for this thing, but I’m running out of room. It’s between cutting Stealth Jump or Comeback for a Run Speed main.
Hey Chase,
Nice video! What about Opening Gambit? I’ve been playing with the ability and think it’s very interesting on this weapon.
