My goodness, it was rather slippery conditions. Ironically, I was at FOD today and as a NEWBIE to MTB, I make mistakes ALL the time trying to pick the correct line. I did the Verderers loop for a warm-up, (puffing and panting as I get fitter), 😉and for the 1st time ever, Countdown to Launchpad, and it was AMAZING. I liked it so much, I had to do it a 2nd time. Thank you for sharing this today, as you, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar as always.
Yeah it was a wet day for riding. Amazing work dude! That climb on the verderers is a good one for fitness 😁. Well done for riding launchpad and countdown, they really are great trails. Keep it up 🙌🏻
Nice video fella. Great picture quality, really clear to see the trails.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it
Great, somewhere we're going to be heading to in the next two months, very much looking forward to it
You will have a great time👍🏻
@@bikeandbeyond for sure. That slab of roots looks heinous 😂
FOD is my local, it can get very funny in the wet! Next time you're in the area and want a tour of some of the amazing off piste trails let me know!
I definitely need an off piste trail guide! 👍🏻
Great video well done.
Cheers mate 👍🏻
@@bikeandbeyond don't forget the wild boar chase in the forest of Dean this September.
Great video as always. Really want to get to FOD soon. One thing, did you swap bikes part way ? Looks like you had your off on the e bike, but seemed to be on the Cube for the rest of the video.
Yeah I swapped on to the Shark for a lap. I was making a video where I raced the minibus uplift on the ebike.
brilliant vid would love to request to use some clips for a sunglasses for cyclists video I am planning, would credit and link to your channel you allow me to use some clips..? Cheers OT
@@OpticalTurnkey Sure, you are welcome to use some clips 👍🏻
@@bikeandbeyond Thank you... Much appreciated...
🙌 🚴
Can’t wait to do it again soon!
My local club is organising a trip there . Alas I'll not make it as it's Monday to Friday. Can't get of work 😒.
But one I want to get to sometime this year . Is it free to ride there ? .
Of to swinley forest on Sunday.
Free to ride but you haft to pay for parking.
I think parking is £5-8 per day, but free to ride.
I wouldn’t be wanting to ride the downhill tyres in summer tyres. Loving the new hillbilly t9 in this winter slop.
How does this place compare to Flyup 417?
The FOD is more natural than the surfaced 417 bikepark trails and I think FOD has a great range of more challenging trails. They all split off all
Over the place. I prefer FOD (because I like natural trails). There are some newly surfaced trails (like countdown and launchpad), but there are a lot of rooty trails, serious drops and jumps available at FOD. The only thing I would suggest is go there after a dry spell. The muddy days can be a bit of a slop fest.
@@bikeandbeyond thanks for the info! Passing through for 1 day from Wales towards London and trying to find the best spot that's open on a Wednesday!
Sick vid how do you book the uplift
Thanks. We booked the uplift through the 417 website. There is a tab somewhere for the FOD uplift.
Cheers I’ll have a look
How do you book an uplift at forest of dean??
Uplift is run by Flyup downhill. You can book uplifts for FOD or 417 on their website.
@@bikeandbeyond ahh I see so it's the same place pretty much and they can drop riders to either or :)
