I'm 53 years old I was 6 years old in 77 when I first saw Star Wars seen every Star Wars movie in the theater even the Clone Wars anime movie and I am enjoying Skeleton Crew
considering that order 66 was about 30-35+ years ago, Jack could have been a youngling in his early teens, forced to hide and fend for himself after the eradication of the jedis. He would have had training in the force but never became a full fledged jedi.
That's a good point cause when the boy (forgot his name) says "You are a Jedi right?" to which Jude's character responds "Well, I didn't actually say that," it makes sense.
The mystery about At Attin is VERY fascinating.......also having the kids realizing that everything that thought was current is thought of as historical facts by everyone is a very good bit of writing. Also I believe the supervisor is long gone and everything is on autopilot by the droids on At Attin Also GIVE US THE NAME OF THE SHIP!!!!!!!
Plus, there's no name attached to "the Supervisor", which made me wonder--is there even a supervisor? If there is one, are they just a droid? I think the droids are much more in control of the populace than we've seen so far.
@@mumplaysminecraft3029 That's quite probably the similarity in this. But I was referring to the fact that Jude Law played Captain Hook in 'Peter Pan & Wendy'.
Few things: 1) The alien that confronts Sexy Dumbledore when he's bailing out SM-33 is voiced by Alfred Molina; 2) Kh'ymm is voiced by Alia Shawkat; 3) I'm pretty sure that Sexy Dumbledore was a Padawan around when Order 66 was issued, hence his mistrust of droids and his fairly advanced Force abilities. That last one is just a theory. A FILM THEORY. (Sorry, had to).
Not sure if this has been said but i have a feeling that SM33 was given the Treasure Planet treatment. That the previous captain wiped or locked his memory so he cant tell anyone about AT-ATin
I’m getting Jedi-Survivor flashbacks where the “planet of eternal treasure” was just the fact that the planet was hidden from war and evil, much like Tanalorr.
I've been shocked with how wonderful this show has been. I expected it to be corny and silly, which it has some of that but it also feels very grounded in Star Wars and is fascinating.
I'm thoroughly enjoying this show and it's lighter tone but I am very curious about how far they may take some darker elements. Obviously there's a lot of potential with the mystery of At Attin with it's very distopian atmosphere, but I'd also be curious if maybe we have a moment where perhaps Wim learns about what happened to the Jedi, not only are they practically all dead but the galaxy by the end of their time didn't see them as the heroes he believes them to be. Also seeing as how Jod/Silvo/Crimson Jack was being held to go on trial it would be nice if maybe Brutus despite clearly being an aggressive murderous pirate really does care somewhat about his crew, at least more than Silvo did. He specifically mutinied because of how many of them were killed for just one credit and we know from this episode that Jod has a history of backstabbing people so maybe his stint as pirate captain was all just another con of his. It'd certainly make both him and Brutus more interesting if that were the case.
Kh'ymm said the school badge used Proto-Republic glyphs. It might be High Republic but they are heavily implying it is the thousands of years ago old republic. I'm pretty sure they call the High Republic the High Republic in universe.
@ For what it’s worth, no one in-universe has ever once referred to the High Republic as The High Republic. It’s all just “The Republic” or “the Old Republic” in-universe. As much as I love the High Republic as an era, it always bothers me that it’s referred to that way out of universe (as in, in our world) because it’s never referred to as that in-universe, it can be confusing.
@@jasonmarbach I initially assumed it was 40 years ago Pre-Empire Republic. "Proto-Republic" and "Jewels of the Old Republic" are making me think legit Old Republic. They are doing a Dawn of the Jedi movie.
If it helps, Wem specifically refers to Fern’s bike as “Wizard,” which is an exclamation we’re familiar with in Star Wars but which was specifically coined during the High Republic era (by a character named Ram Jomaram, as established in the canon 2021 novel “The High Republic: Race To Crashpoint Tower” by Daniel Jóse Older). That plus all the references to “the Great Work” (a series of High Republic projects commissioned by Supreme Chancellor Lina Soh) indicates almost certainly that, while At Attin is almost certainly old enough to have been a big planet in the *actual* Old Republic, it was probably hidden (and therefore kind of frozen in time) during the High Republic era.
@jasonmarbach That's actually not true. Characters during the PT and OT eras have referred to it as the High Republic in books, comics, and games. It just hasn't been referred to that way on screen yet.
I'm pretty sure Fern talking about strings is a reference to Empire Strikes Back where you can see the strings holding the rocks that Luke lifts on Dagobah if you look hard enough.
Neel, KB, and Kh'ymm. If any harm should befall, these three. WE FUCKIN RIOT!!!!! Dude i forgot Acolyte existed. Thank you Jon Watts and Christopher Ford!!!! PS: HOOOTY WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Theory... Would Crimson Jack be about the right age that he was a child Jedi during Order 66? Maybe that's why he is "lost" too. Has no parents and no Jedi Masters.Even though he got into trouble by pirating he's a good soul and that's why despite protestations he identifies with the kids.
So nobody mentions it, but the answer SM-33 gives about At Attin gave me pause because “I can’t say I remember no At Attin” is VERBATIM what he said last episode. Verbatim repetition of that particular specificity makes me think it’s a memory programming thing. Also possibly, “I can’t say I remember” might be the most telling part of that sentence. Remember, if this is live action treasure planet, SM-33 is BEN, and BEN has a memory problem.
I'm thinking the same thing. SM-33 knows a lot more than he is revealing. I think asking him the location of At Attin is the wrong thing to say. I think he can probably take them to At Attin, but he can't tell them where it is.
I think you inadvertently figured the whole thing out. He's not a Jedi, this is the long awaited Star Wars/ Harry potter crossover we have been trying to get for the last 92 years. HE IS DUMBLEDORE!
Not gonna lie, was waiting for Jay to say, "HOOTY WHO!" And then he said it as a rating 😅 Fun episode/show! I kind of wish Jake Lloyd could be the Supervisor as a nice little cameo. He's been through a lot and his mom made a statement that he would like to make a cameo/appearance. As long as he's okay with it and is in a good mental health space, would love for him to make a cameo.
I think they could have made SM-33 bigger and more intimidating, like the ABC Warrior that Rico reactivated and programmed to be his bodyguard in Judge Dredd.
Jod could be Force sensitive and was never a Padawan or had a Master, so he can't really call himself a Jedi, maybe only capable of a few minor tricks and has never held a lightsaber in his life. Remember "Stable Boy" at the end of The Last Jedi? That takes place 14 years after BBY and 9 years after Season 1 of Skeleton Crew. I have a theory that Stable Boy aka Temiri Blagg is Jod's son because if Luke had an illegitimate son with Force powers he'd know about it. Luke and Leia weren't sensed by Vader because Obi Wan suppressed their Force sensitivity and tried cutting them off from the Force altogether when they were infants only it worked better on Leia, Vader couldn't even sense Leia as his daughter when she was standing right next to him but he and Luke could sense each other after Luke got some training and Luke sensed the truth about Leia at roughly the same time he Leveled Up on Dagobah the second time. That's why they had to be split up with Luke going to the one planet Vader would never want to step on again.
i said it last time and ill say it again: Jude Law was once a youngling or a padawan but never got to complete his training because of Order 66. His force powers r all very small and seem, based on his expression, be pushing his normal limit so I don't think he's very powerful either. Anyway, Im not sold on him being a villain yet, I think he's just selfish and for sure going to turn on them when he needs to to survive. I think we can all agree tho that his betrayal will come in the form of killing SM33, hurting Neel, and taking Wym tho right?
This show does the smart thing of adding a layer to everything, where previous shows would have just left it. A treasure to find, how to get home, who is Jod/Silvo etc. is as deep as it's been previously. The treasure *is* At Attin was a great touch to start, but the mystery of Jude Law not being *who* (asked and answered 100% by this episode, but it was pretty obvious anyway he was Silvo, even if he gets two different names here) but *what* is he is another mystery we didn't expect to deal with.
Both Fern and Wim rubbed me a little the wrong way but they've both been growing on me steady ,although I feel for them both. It's like they're both dealing with the weight of expectations in different directions. Wim doesn't seem to have much expected of him besides mind yourself, go to school. Fern has the weight of expectations from her mother that she's bucking everything possible authority. Fern directing her attitude towards Jod shifted her for me and Wim's didn't play as heavily as "this kid does something reckless that endangers people" and his overall idealism is infectious.

Although I do feel like this show would've been better suited to a binge model, this feels like the kinda thing I could binge in an afternoon and have a good time. I don't hate waiting week to week but it's not exactly something I'm losing sleep over
I watched it because Jude Law's in it and he said it's not a kid's show. I was expecting something along the lines of the Ewok movies made for the elementary school demographic but it's not.
Interesting note, according to the show runners, Neel is actually a different species than Max Rebo. I have a hard time seeing much difference, but they did make a point to specify.
I’m gonna call my shot and say that the “treasure” will turn out to be metaphorical, something like “The Great Work of At Attin is to preserve the knowledge and history of the Old Republic in the face of forces that would suppress it, such as the Sith, the Empire, etc.… and what greater treasure is there than that?”
I think Jod is force sensitive and a Jedi left him while everything was going on post-66, when they were hiding kids. He said he was lost. He got testy when Fern said Jedi don't leave people behind.
Jude’s character got momentarily upset when she said the Jedi don’t leave people behind, then reined it in quick. What Jedi left him behind and when I wonder?
What if Jude had an older brother who also had the force and the Jedi took just his brother and he never saw him again and he’s been searching for him ever since.... .... a brother who he only remembers as his pet name he had for him, Obi.....
I have a theory..might be too meta but it makes sense. I think At Attin’s secret treasure is their monetary system they created which gives them a communist utopia type world. Free from wars, scoundrels, scavenging, etc. The rest of the Star Wars universe has a bunch of high level politics, power struggles, bounty hunting, etc. At Attin is more like the most “peaceful” earth society. Everyone there is rich due to their “great work”.
Easily the best Star Wars Disney has put out. As long as they don't fumble hard as it continues, I'd say this is the best Star Wars since the 80s. I *really* hope they don't shoehorn in some cameos and guest stars from the Clone Wars or Rebels cartoons (I'm especially looking at you, Hondo). They're coming up with fun new characters, and i would hate to see them get sidelined just for an "I RECOGNIZE THAT GUY!" moment. (The way they handled the nods to "The Holiday Special," "Ewoks: The Battle For Endor," and "Captain Eo" were perfect; they were just aliens (and a hologram) that exist in this universe, and I'm fine with that.

(The way they handled the nods to "The Holiday Special," "Ewoks: The Battle For Endor," and "Captain Eo" were perfect; they were just aliens (and a hologram) that exist in this universe, and I'm fine with that.
LFG !!
