I like hearing about the tactical and operational results of using chemical weapons rather than vauge listings of chemical weapons and their threat capability.

My uncle served in chemical company of the People's Polish Army in the 60's or 70's. They trained in the field with real chemical agents. The most important things for them was to very often clean their weapons. Because after the exercises they went under shower in mobile decontamination stations with full equipment and agent used for decontamination cause massive corrosion if it wasn't removed in proper time. He even "privatized" some amount of the detergents used for decontamination, because of course soap is a rare and hard to get commodity in socialist economy. What is also interesting the OP-1 and L-2 protection uniforms are still the sergeant's favorite torture devices today. Even the MP4 Buldog gas masks are still used mainly during training.

All things we covered at the NBC school in Taegu back in '88. Strange this is considered "retro" now. The info and tactics still remain the same.

probably refers to the footage and style. even some wwII training videos contain a lot of relevant information.

I was an old school 54E. Went through the Chemical School at Fort McClellan Alabama in 1984. There's a lot of new stuff now....

I think this is the same film we watched in College ROTC around 1987-88. The captain would call on us to identify a piece of equipment on the film randomly. If we got it wrong or didn't know... 20 pushups.

Why do you use watermark on US military film? It's not your copyrighted property.

At least it is off the actual video. The worst is when they put it on the video and there are no other surviving copies online.

I wonder if these military scientist guys ever realized all those bio hazard suits and respirators could be replaced by cloth and paper masks.

They could’ve just tied a service issued undershirt around their nose and mouth and been ok, trust the science it says it’s ok

@@loganbaileysfunwithtrains606 Good point, think of how much money they could have saved on R&D and PPE.

But seriously, having prior NBC training the whole covid thing made me tear my head out at how stupid everyone was at the very top. If we get in a real NBC/CBRN conflict we are finished, lmao.
