The “DIRECT DRIVE” screw press proposed by FICEP beside the standard presses with friction flywheel and brakes, is characterized by important technical and economical innovations which place this machine ahead of the market.
FICEP’s designers developed the concept of Brushless linear motor, with the permanent magnets applied directly on the flywheel (rotor) and the stators fixed on the press frame. This solution, besides being very simple from a constructive point of view, makes the motor-flywheel group extremely insensitive to the vibrations and to the strong decelerations, it is subject to for the type of operation that press is required to carry out.
Thanks to the utilization of a second brushless motor, more compact but with a very high rotation speed, the energy that would normally be lost to brake the press, is regenerated and stored, to be re-used in the following forging cycle.
Considering that the forging industry is now moving towards fully automatic forging lines, our DD Direct Drive Screw Presses can be easily integrated with automatic handling robots, in order to meet this demand.
FANUC has developed two types of robots, the RF and RP series, which are key components of the FICEP system. These robots precisely handle slugs and forged parts, both hot and cold, meeting all handling requirements throughout the forging cycle.
With our extensive worldwide experience, we excel in delivering customized solutions, ensuring top-notch performance and reliability for our customers.
