I don't think there's any "DOT approved mounting system". I think it just has to be oriented correctly, have DOT complainant lights, and have nothing obstructing its visibility from the rear so many feet away. Its on the manufacturer or you to fabricate one that is DOT compliant.

i think it's entirely B.S. for a north carolina cop to cite improper placement on a california registered vehicle. that's like taking a north carolina registered car with 35% window tint to a state where no tint is allowed and getting cited for tint. or being cited for a chopped off muffler when your home registration state allows it. it doesn't apply in that state since you dont have to pass nc inspections. however in the interest of full disclosure NC § 20-63 (g) clearly states: "who shall display a number plate in other than a horizontal upright position, shall be guilty of a Class 2 misdemeanor" under the "concealment" subsection so it could be argued that mounting vertically can be considered concealment and therefore out of state vehicles would be subject to misdemeanor charges for vertical plates. be warned, dragon tourists!

Serious Q (ima contact TSP myself to be sure): With an out-of-state tag & license (FL, which doesn’t require me to carry insurance) can I still get cited for no insurance by riding in TN?? And if so, that dramatically increases the cost of going to the Dragon.
You have to abide by the laws in the state you are riding, some states are ok with electronic proof of insurance or proof on your phone meanwhile other states require paper copy proof of insurance. I ride thousands of miles and multiple state yearly so I carry both just to be safe. MOST states require you to have insurance to ride in their state, so if Florida does not require you to have insurance but Tennessee does, you have to have insurance to ride your bike in Tennessee, If you do not have insurance in Tennessee as well as other states that require you to have insurance, Officers can have your vehicle towed for safety as well as citing you for the violation. I hope this answers your question.
Idk if you’re aware, but Florida motorcycle insurance laws may not require you to have insurance at the time of riding, but you are required to have liability coverage in a crash. Crash without insurance and the legal issues are a huge headache.
Yes, according to TSP HQ records Dept lady who asked a Lt., you must abide by the laws in the state you’re riding in. PIP/LIA only for me will be $155/YR with Geico. That’s for 50/100/15 coverage limits. TN requires 25/50.

Obviously I’m not a threat, I pulled over before you even had your lights on”
In Pennsylvania the tag has to have a DOT approved mounting system. Anything else is illegal and can get you cited. The local cops usually don't say anything, but the state police will stop you instantly if they see a non-stock plate mount.

I'm curious too! I live in FL too and would like to know.
If you ride outside the state of Florida you have to have insurance
Idk if you’re aware, but Florida motorcycle insurance laws may not require you to have insurance at the time of riding, but you are required to have liability coverage in a crash.
Crash without insurance and the legal issues are a huge headache.
Yes, according to TSP HQ records Dept lady who asked a Lt., you must abide by the laws in the state you’re riding in. PIP/LIA only for me will be $155/YR with Geico. That’s for 50/100/15 coverage limits. TN requires 25/50.
Why do people even ride the tail of the dragon anymore ? More cops and traffic than good times.
"Did that Guy, Max, who makes a living of our Road, pay the Po-po-tax yet..?" "No Sir"..- "Well, find him and do it, before the End of July!!" -"Yes Sir!!"🤫🤔🙄
Thanks for serving us Maxwrist!!
......I think that device around their chest controls their hearts and brains
no they self recording. check police Activity and you will notice
@@CanonMatters2Me
Nope, I just have a brain and can think for myself
@@mrhands2757 not sure you being able to wreck bikes and sound like a blameless moron qualifies for “having a brain.” Go videotape a wreck with a sub for money Scarecrow.
At least u had a plate on it and didn't run from them. They should have given you a break
He could’ve easily lost that police cruiser in the twist and turns.
Easily.
County didn't hit their the quarterly target. Decided to send cops on a field trip to the dragon.
Should have said “if you weren’t tailgating me you could have read the tag just fine, you can’t read it when you’re on top of me like that. there’s no law that says the plate has to be completely vertical, that would be your opinion officer - it just has to be visible. Obviously I’m not a threat, I pulled over before you even had your lights on”
Yeah be a smartass to a cop, what a great idea
Yeah I live in TN. They just say it has to be affixed to the rear of the bike.
@@pepperjackshack2439 good to know. I have a house in TN , CA plates and reg on my bike and a TX license
In Pennsylvania the tag has to have a DOT approved mounting system. Anything else is illegal and can get you cited. The local cops usually don't say anything, but the state police will stop you instantly if they see a non-stock plate mount.
@@crherniman who asked?
Having a plate altered like that or in any way from standard is a federal offence where I live and earns a $1200 fine.
gotta make that ticket quota before the end of the month !!
They’ve seen your vids as well and because they can’t caught you in the act.. they make sure, they do that in any other way. Keep the vids coming!
Made that road famous, even to the cops…I would disappear the 1st time I see the cops on the road side, they obviously had an objetive..Catch the guy filming races (and Finnish him, lol) and putting it all on RUclips so that we (and the cops) have some rush…But this video views will pay for the fine, so no problem…Next race video?
New subscriber. Just learned about this channel after seeing a bike "parked" in the brush with bent handlebars and some rash with plates that match this channel name out past the tortilla flats on rt 88. Looking fwd to watching many more vids great stuff.
Bahahahaha. Did the plates say ‘S3XOFNDR’?
If you’d been on a Harley he wouldn’t have messed with you. He was hoping you would run
Man that cop aint that dumb to think that tail is stock...lmao.
I'm a massive fan but if ya always kicking it hard on the same road for a long time i.e weeks or months... Then they know where ya are and they will get ya on the little things they can prove. Time to move on to another road...
Crash Test Goat next...
Maybe they finally caught on to your speeding and this is how they are going to kindly move you out of Tennessee.
Busted? You have probably never been in handcuffs before, but thanks for your military service
Dembele is harassing u too? He needs to get move out from his mom's basement , get a job and a life.
Max Risk gets done for a number plate LOL
What a hero. Out there fighting the good fight.

Yep, Wristy the Kid, once an outlaw, always an outlaw.
Yeh... "We just wanna be free to ride our machines without being hassled by the man". (Peter Fonda. Wild Angels).
atleast the plates in the states dont look like billboards overseas but on sports bikes any plate in any area is a take away. most of the time at the speed you go it wouldn't matter whaer the plate is located reading it would be impossible he forgot to thank you for your service
Should have given them a sticker!
Next time “RUN and never return “ SCARS voice…
Not sure of the company that makes the eliminator kit ( bracket ) you have but I guarantee you they are not selling anything that is not street legal and approved for the street. Otherwise they wouldn’t be in business very long. He was breaking your balls for sure. The question is why? Who knows with these young cops, some of them are cool and then others are complete assholes. I’m sure that’s not the first time you got shaken down and I guarantee it won’t be the last. Have a good one. Stay safe brother!🙌🤙
False. If it says “Not for Street Use” they can sell it all day. Same with exhaust. Our motorcycle shop is losing business to Cali because of their stupid EPA regulatory laws regarding emissions along with sound db for exhausts. Aftermarket exhaust are listed as “Not for Street Use”. These companies sell exhaust systems every day.
@@georgefell1101 Yeah I understand the exhaust. That’s completely different. So they are selling license plat brackets that are “ Not for street use “? That really doesn’t make any sense.
@@markrosenquist8259 Make lots of Dollars makes sense though 👍
The internet is full of items that are not legal on bikes on the street
They may have saved you like a divine intervention my dude! Kept you out of a time of day you weren't expecting! I've been watching your channel for a while. I don't think any explanation is needed! Ride on brother!
That right there is a revenue collector
That went as good as possible
My opinion they know who you are. I mean honestly he took it sorta easy. If he really wanted to drill u he knew all he has to do was hang out somewhat for a bit and woulda caught u going 3X speed limit seems like a take one for the team moments
He just needed to let it hang out if he wanted to drill him?
Hey wristy I can’t believe that cop just said he stops everyone he can find like what 🫤. He just don’t like motorcycle riders. It’s so obvious.🙄
@@f270 I guess but that cop is a Jerk.
You shoulda did the dash max
dandanthefireman screamed with joy at the title
Hey MaxWrist you need to ride with Sayian420 again! Those videos last summer were the best! When you had the R1 and he the Zx10-RR. Perfect match!
Take the video to court and say ypu we're targeted cuz clearly he didn't care about the other 2 riders that just passed him with the same "issue"
Seems like they out to get you and that cop wanted his 5 mins of fame on the maxwrist channel YAY YAY
I'm sure law enforcement officers all over the country crave the ultimate prestige to be gained by appearing on this channel.
That's bullshit he was mad because he thought he was going to catch you speeding!
still alive bro?
I mean I could understand if you where speeding but he basically just found an excuse to give you a ticket.🤣I guess he had to make quota for the month.👌🏾
Oh those fat pigs make plenty up there. I see blue lights every time I go. Fuck those guys.
There’s no such thing as a quota. Educate yourself
BS.....there expected to maintain a percentage profile for the month. He did what he is instructed to do. If at all possible on a pullover....find a ticket.
@@Username-2 y’all police officers? Yeah I didn’t think so 💀 like I said. Educate yourselves. Just cause you “heard” someone say there’s quotas doesn’t mean there is. Try working as a police officer and then come back to me.
What's the problem? The cop pulled a sus guy over and found a violation. He was completely polite while doing it, the biker is at fault. Good cop.
This dude calls a cop turning around dangerous yet this guy puts others lives at risk on the daily
Very dangerous a bike coulda been rounding the corner when that cop just whipped around he’ll even a car could’ve. Lmaooo
Road pirate fleecing the people again to fill their coffers. 🏴☠️💰
Called a quota. He’s not going to pull over 10 bikes a day. Just 1 😂
This is a BS situation.
Cause it should be fixed at the manufacturing level.
To get a fine for a stock bike that has been registered speaks of a broken system.
Revenue raising is what it looks like.
The bikes are made in Italy so you cant really blame the company.
Bro I’ve been such a big fan and I can’t belive after all these years this is how you get caught ☹️
Lmaoo what
Yup, he’s going to jail forever. The only videos you’re gonna see him upload from here on out are gonna be of him making license plates in the slammer.
After the 4th one.... I'd have turned around and went home
Gotta keep your insurance on your phone dealing with a rookie like that.
Good, your a bad example to all riders! You should be banned from YT.
He clearly wanted to catch you doing something else (aka speeding) But couldn't so he noticed "AH YES PLATE!"
Lesson learned if they hanging around that long then just go park up for the day :/ sucks I know. Out for blood.
They’re obviously out trying to reach their quotas. It’s funny cause he would’ve gotten really aggressive if you questioned him about that ignorant ass U turn he pulled
Cop was right. Your tail was NOT stock.
