This competition exist since 1984 and is part of the "Championnat de France de Montée Impossible" (French Impossible Climb Championship). It is considered the hardest race of the french championship. Since 1984, 10 riders made it to the summit, so it's not that impossible, but none this year.

That's only 10 successful riders in 38 years mind 😲 . Virtually Impossible hillclimb doesn't quite have the same ring to it lol . Hats off to the guys that try it 👏 👍
@@IWrocker there is a hill climb event in belgium which is considered one of the most difficult in the world. many bikes are destroyed there as they tumble back down. maybe you can make a reaction video of that. the title is: World's Toughest Hill Climb Race - Belgium / Andler XVIII

The funny thing is that they use the bike placement to determine the height you’ve reached, meaning if you go all the way up but your bike falls all the way back down you’re basically at the bottom of the leaderboard 😅

@@IWrocker yeah and that one isn’t the worst one, in some of those event if the bike starts falling back down there is a good chance your gonna spend the rest of the day fixing it

If you haven't reacted to top-level motorcycle trials riding yet, may I recommend that you do so a.s.a.p. It's essentially mountain climbing, on motorbikes, although they often do it indoors as well, over crazy man made obstacle courses, hopping around on one wheel and making insane jumps,🤪, from one tiny impossible to reach ledge to another tiny even more impossible to reach ledge.🤯
Crazy riding skills and bike control, the aim of the game is to complete the courses cleanly, meaning without falling off or having to put a foot down on the ground to stay upright.
Britain's Dougie Lampkin MBE dominated the FIA Trials World Championships for many years but in more recent years the championship has been dominated by a series of extremely talented Spanish riders.

It's been dominated by Spanish riders ???????? Don't you mean 1 Spanish rider TONI BOU there's 2 trials championships a year 1 in summer the outdoor and 1 indoor at winter and TONI BOU is a 32 Times world champion which means he hasn't been beaten in 16 years if you look up GOAT in the dictionary there's a picture of TONI BOU besides it

I remember watching offroad formula and hill climb bikes after school in the late 90's early 2000 on Eurosport. Offroad formulas driving over lakes on paddle tires was so cool.
8:40 I can recognise a 4 cylinders Honda. Either a 600cc 100bhp hornet or even a 150bhp 1000c. Those bikes have HUGE engines !
pressure gauges are for fuel pressure, engine is injection but they remove the pump so they put air to have furel pressure for the injectors

America has/had something similar in Utah "The Widowmaker" I remember watching it back in the 80's and 90's.
They have this in the US also. My mom and step-dad went every year to watch. Obviously it needs to be in a place with big hills if not mountains.
You should react to Roman Grosjean's fireball crash. One of the worst F1 crashes of all time. Its about a seven minute video but well put together

Good stuff, reminded me of those awesome up hill rock bouncer videos from the US of A.
built with a mate in my 20's a hybrid bike out of a DT80 frame, 250 forks and suspension and 125 motor to take to Giacci sand quarry in Gelorup in Bunbury which is 2hrs south of Perth, totally trespassing but so much fun, lots of dune climbing and bowl wall riding in the cutouts, built a little enduro track out the back of the quarry through the bushed area. nothing near crazy as this but still had some pretty epic wipeouts.
Gears were our brakes, never got the real brakes to work very much, not that we really needed them in a sand quarry, the sand does a good job stopping you if you need to.
I did not know this event, once again you teach me this from my own country

Hey Ian have you watched the Aussie racing car series,that raced at Bathurst? They are mini v8 Supercars with a 1200 cc motorcycle engine. There are a few videos with incar footage.four wide down Conrod straight.

Lots of these are nitro methane engines, sport bike motors, or Harley motors, sometimes you see some 500 two strokes, extended swing arms, big spikes or paddles on the tire, decently dig in america too!
You should check out the video "Impossible Climb Andler 2019 | Dirt Bike Graveyard | Hill Climb", its the same sport but in Belgium. Smaller climb but way crazier.
Red Marley hill climb in uk is a vintage hill climb and they drag race 4 at a time up it
I think they used to show this on Eurosport when I was a kid.

newy hillclimb was always awsome. i recall being a little tackka in my dato 1600 doing the saturday night king eddy run. never got booked funny enough.

That's what we in Europe do almost every morning before school. Most houses have a private hill in the backyard.
As this is France the spectators have fun all day, beer & wine in abundance.

Billings, Montana has plenty of competition. Those Europeans are mad. Its pretty flat here in Australia. Our hillclimbs are done on modified bicycles!

Ian, check out the awesome bronze statue of an early Harley Davidson hillclimber at the Harley Davidson museum in Milwaukee. The sculptor captured the essence of hillclimbing, it's well worth a look. Also, check out some motorcycle ice racing, you want spiky tyres, you got 'em!👍

The competition asks riders to reach the summit on their handmade vehicles up a track that is 230m (755′) long, 8m (26′) wide, and has a slope rating of 70-82%.
A pretty insane sport. Put ice speedway on the queue too.
Take a look into speedway, no brakes, only the clutch lever, tires with spikes and 3 gears. Its done in dirt and in ice.
Try some Icelandic hill climbs. Highly modified cars that also drive over water.
If you like this stuff you should look for some whec (world hard enduro championship) or specifficly erzbergrodeo. There are some good videos from it and its crazy

I suppose the track becomes more and more difficult and that the starting number is quite relevant. The bikes seem to have quite a range of different tires, I wonder what are the boundaries.

if you look closely you can see that they all have a deadman switch, where if they fall off it auto cuts off the engine. at 6min you can see it dangling from his hand.

If you like to watch something very entertaining just look for Trial GP or Indoor Trial , it's not very common in USA but with a large fan club in Europe.
You should react to rally Barbados it’s from the island of barbados and we’re we are from I would say the rally is pretty good
the heavier the balls, the better the stability in this event... center of gravity and all that...
Best and funniest hillclimb series was in the 90s in germany/rachau.
