I got the Tiger eyeshadow from the Chantecaille Tiger “collection” and it was so disappointing. It’s a $52 single shadow and the packaging was really lightweight. I was expecting something more weighty for the price. The shade itself didn’t knock my socks either. I usually love emerald green but the payoff wasn’t anything special. I’ve decided that while Chantecaille does have some nice products, it’s way overpriced as well as overhyped. 🤷🏻♀️
I live in a country so far away ahahaha where most brands do not have local distribution. Whenever I see new releases, I end up buying online and often, the shipment is more expensive than the products on my cart. Thanks for being my guardian angel and stopping me to buy those stuff I don't need.
I agree with your comments about Estee Lauder. I was regular buyer and was so tempted by their free gifts that I have a create full that I never use. Even at 52 I think I'm too young to use that brand now LOL. As for the brushes that are completely useless. If starting a makeup collect the first thing you need to buy is proper tools for the job. The makeup can follow later. Once you have them anything in your current collection looks great.
I actually purchased the huda liquid lip and i LOOOOVE it 💄 it didn’t deprive my lips of moisture like say 2016 liquid lips hahaha it’s so comfy i don’t feel it and it doesn’t transfer it’s amazing. I only got icon cuz it’s a unique color i was impressed

Thank you Charlotte, this couldn't have come at a better time for me as I'm trying to seriously curtail my spending on makeup. I have a long-standing problem with spending too much money on it and I need to change, I'm not young anymore (in my 50s) and dread to think how much I have spent throughout my life, it's actually shameful. Most of what I buy (all of it high end - Chanel, Dior, Tom Ford, Hourglass, Chantecaille etc) gets used about 6 times and then stuck in a drawer and forgotten about when the next new thing arrives. The last bag of stuff I binned probably contained about £1,000 worth of products. 😩😩😩

This was such a fun video..lovely sweater. I am one to get a bit excited about certain releases and have learned that after a few days the excitement is gone..I also talk myself out of getting the new bronzer etc since I have 1 too many. I just enjoy watching the reviews. I also definitely wait for sales. I don't care for many of the releases you mentioned here especially the more bougie ones...so thats a great thing. I was more guilty of impulsive shopping indie brand eyeshadows and realized last Christmas 🎄 that I felt 😴 upon receipt and the shadows were redundant or not great. If the MAC powder kiss liquid lipstick or the Chanel double entuendu (LOOOOOOOOVE) then why would you think ANY other liquid lipstick would be. Just buy the chanel and a good double cleanse.

I always appreciate these videos. I'm not too sure about the Fenty lipsticks, you have to buy the lipstick case separately and then the lipstick which would cost $32for both, I don't think it's worth that price and to me the case seems bulky. I love what Chantecaille does for wildlife, but this is very expensive for a brown quad.

It seems strange that people are asking why *YOU* purchase the same items you tell others not to buy, when it is your purchase, and therefore experience and understanding of the products, that makes your discouragement from buying more effective.
These videos are so refreshing! I rarely have FOMO but I can feel a bit weird about some of the launch waves that ripples through beauty tube. My latest purchases was the Pat McGrath lunar nude highlighter (discounted, after a few months of deciding on a new non-cream or liquid highlighter) and Lisa Eldridge Affair liner (finally in stock again) and lip stick (also after a few months of thinking about wheather I need it or not). I’m not a huge beauty spender, but I do spend enough as it is.
I love this series, lol, and your sense of humour. It doesn't actually stop me from buying products that I'm dead set on getting, but it DOES validate the doubts I have about some of those ridiculously overpriced stuff, as well as persuade me to at least wait for discounts. Looking at PMG as I'm typing this. Practically all her stuff are guaranteed to be 30% off several months down the line. I can wait several months.

I think the Urban Decay palette is perfect for people who like soft green looks. If you want more umpf Oden’s Eye’s new collab looks promising! The giraffe palette is beautiful but I’ve been singularly unimpressed with everything I have ever tried from the brand - overpriced and over hyped.

When Jamie Genevieve released “Vieve” my absolute first vision I had in my head from her would be the perfect selection of “dirty grunge mossy teal grass greens” eyeshadow palette….and I still believe she will release the perfect concoction of green eyeshadows at some point over the next year…I could live with a ND green eyeshadow palette (I love my mini gold palette) but I can honestly say hand on heart I ache & pray Jamie taps into her makeup roots & brings out my perfect green palette! 💚 🖤

So I just bought the Estee Lauder blushes. Ok hear me out...I'm a makeup minimalist and have been using the same E.L. mauve nude blush color for at least 5 years. It's way past expiration so I figured I'd replace it. I also bought the other peach nude blush so I'd have a whopping two colors to choose from. :D That said, they are definitely over priced so I bought them 30% off for Black Friday. Also, nobody needs that much blush at one time - they could have cut the price and quantity in half. Finally, I only needed the brush that it comes with when I was 13 years old. All the makeup I bought for Black Friday 2022 is going to last me until Black Friday 2023. Ha. Love your channel!
Wrt the palette which may not be mentioned...yes..I don't know what's going on. Do I like it? I...maybe? Why am I so confused?! Maybe because it sits somewhere between "aspirational 20-years-younger me" and wtf. Also I admittedly have like 6537 BH Cosmetics palettes that just as capably sit in the drawer not being used.
Awww but it's a giraffe!! LOL Totally agree - as always - but I couldn't resist the giraffes. In my defence, Chantecaille seems to be the only brand that never ever irritates my super sensitive eyes. It happens with Pat, TF, ND, CT quite often (not that it would stop me from using these brands) so I need some "safe" options for those days when my eyes are poorly. Makes sense, right? Forgiven? ;-)
Nordstrom fooled me into buying the EL blush in Spiked Berry. Oh. Dear. That photo had to be doctored. It is not vivid in person. I’m so sad. I should have just looked for a similar PML or Patrick Ta blush. 🤦🏻♀️
And as for Fenty beauty I am in America and her last bullet lipsticks were $18 and her liquid lipsticks were $26! Her foundation is now bcuz of inflation i guess cuz fenty prices keep rising is now $38 however i think that’s worth it that formula is amazing! But I agree she is now forcing us to buy one separate lipstick and a case me personally I’m not going to keep a Refill looking ugly with an ugly plastic cap on my vanity so I bought two cases for the two shades that I wanted because it’s more aesthetically pleasing for me however that would make her lipsticks that’s $20 and the case is $12 that’s $32 in total you are not Pat McGrath or Dior I get that Fenty beauty was trying to promote earth sustainability however it’s smarter to sell the entire component as one and then the option to buy refills feels like a cash grab. Also the cases are literally made from the same reflective mirrored plastic as the tops on her lip glosses! It can’t even be high quality casing for them. So that annoyed me! I loooove fenty lip products but on a positive note I’m glad they’re FINALLY NORMAL SIZED bullets cuz how tiny the others were for $18 that was crazy to me however the colors were so unique that i got them! And fenty beauty is a midrange brand that Rihanna prided herself on it not being too expensive so that it was accessible for everyone, sooo why is she now making her lipsticks as if it’s a luxe price brand. U can’t finesse ppl like well hey my lipstick is technically $20 like the rest of my line but hey u need to still spend another $12!!! Otherwise it’ll be incomplete. That’s not cool! We’re not that stupid
I LOVE this series....it helps the FOMO no doubt!! Don't buy the new CT cream eyeshadow....they are HORRIBLE, dry and need to be reformulated to be a bit more creamy.
HACK TEST: it would be VERY a interesting if people did an experiment with using a *light rub* of Vaseline or such to S3 Al the threading on cream products We could all give it a try with new-opened different brands & see if it works to extend the Life of G3’s & cream pot colour cosmeticsa, without side effects

Also got the new Matte eyes to mesmerise pots and they too are my new favourite - wear them everyday. Finger application is the way to a one and done, all day wear no fuss eye shadow. I was waiting for a green palette… and Angie and odens eye came through. Can’t wait for it! Oh! And you are absolutely right about the fenty lipsticks! Why would we pay £28 for a lipstick that is nothing special about it when we can get a beautiful Charlotte tilbury that comes complete for 26?!
Or a Lisa Eldridge lipstick for £26. I treated myself to one last year and it is gorgeous, both the bullet and the packaging, it's a real indulgence. I keep changing my mind on the odens eye palette... I really don't wear eyeshadow that often for the amount I already own... but those greens are just the kind that appeal to me but don't have much similar.

@@carinam4258 I went to her pop up shop in London before Christmas and told myself one lipstick and liner only. I might get others later but experience tells me if I buy in bulk I don't love each item as much as if I had it on it's own as the "new thing in my collection" for a while. I had narrowed it down to a choice of three from her website, (dragon, affair and cinnebar) based on their description and swatch videos and I liked all of them but went for Dragon. I suspect if I had Affair it would get more use as a neutral but I have Mocha by MAC which is my most used colour and is quite similar so decided if I use that up or it goes bad I will replace with Affair, no point in owning both. I just decluttered a bunch of lipsticks because I had too many and some were getting rather old. Enjoy the odens eye palette... am still thinking about it!

In Chantecaille's defense, that Giraffe collection does donate to the Giraffe Conservation Foundation. But you can probably donate directly to the foundation and then all the money you would've spent on a makeup item will go to charity.

These videos are so refreshing! I rarely have FOMO but I can feel a bit weird about some of the launch waves that ripples through beauty tube. My latest purchases was the Pat McGrath lunar nude highlighter (discounted, after a few months of deciding on a new non-cream or liquid highlighter) and Lisa Eldridge Affair liner (finally in stock again) and lip stick (also after a few months of thinking about wheather I need it or not). I’m not a huge beauty spender, but I do spend enough as it is.

I love this series, lol, and your sense of humour. It doesn't actually stop me from buying products that I'm dead set on getting, but it DOES validate the doubts I have about some of those ridiculously overpriced stuff, as well as persuade me to at least wait for discounts. Looking at PMG as I'm typing this. Practically all her stuff are guaranteed to be 30% off several months down the line. I can wait several months.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the fenty lipsticks were way over priced! I like her products but they've never wowed me and I'm not spending high end dollars on mid end items.

I think the Urban Decay palette is perfect for people who like soft green looks. If you want more umpf Oden’s Eye’s new collab looks promising! The giraffe palette is beautiful but I’ve been singularly unimpressed with everything I have ever tried from the brand - overpriced and over hyped.

When Jamie Genevieve released “Vieve” my absolute first vision I had in my head from her would be the perfect selection of “dirty grunge mossy teal grass greens” eyeshadow palette….and I still believe she will release the perfect concoction of green eyeshadows at some point over the next year…I could live with a ND green eyeshadow palette (I love my mini gold palette) but I can honestly say hand on heart I ache & pray Jamie taps into her makeup roots & brings out my perfect green palette!

So I just bought the Estee Lauder blushes. Ok hear me out...I'm a makeup minimalist and have been using the same E.L. mauve nude blush color for at least 5 years. It's way past expiration so I figured I'd replace it. I also bought the other peach nude blush so I'd have a whopping two colors to choose from. :D That said, they are definitely over priced so I bought them 30% off for Black Friday. Also, nobody needs that much blush at one time - they could have cut the price and quantity in half. Finally, I only needed the brush that it comes with when I was 13 years old. All the makeup I bought for Black Friday 2022 is going to last me until Black Friday 2023. Ha. Love your channel!
Wrt the palette which may not be mentioned...yes..I don't know what's going on. Do I like it? I...maybe? Why am I so confused?! Maybe because it sits somewhere between "aspirational 20-years-younger me" and wtf. Also I admittedly have like 6537 BH Cosmetics palettes that just as capably sit in the drawer not being used.

Awww but it's a giraffe!! LOL Totally agree - as always - but I couldn't resist the giraffes. In my defence, Chantecaille seems to be the only brand that never ever irritates my super sensitive eyes. It happens with Pat, TF, ND, CT quite often (not that it would stop me from using these brands) so I need some "safe" options for those days when my eyes are poorly. Makes sense, right? Forgiven? ;-)
Nordstrom fooled me into buying the EL blush in Spiked Berry. Oh. Dear. That photo had to be doctored. It is not vivid in person. I’m so sad. I should have just looked for a similar PML or Patrick Ta blush. 🤦🏻♀️
And as for Fenty beauty I am in America and her last bullet lipsticks were $18 and her liquid lipsticks were $26! Her foundation is now bcuz of inflation i guess cuz fenty prices keep rising is now $38 however i think that’s worth it that formula is amazing! But I agree she is now forcing us to buy one separate lipstick and a case me personally I’m not going to keep a Refill looking ugly with an ugly plastic cap on my vanity so I bought two cases for the two shades that I wanted because it’s more aesthetically pleasing for me however that would make her lipsticks that’s $20 and the case is $12 that’s $32 in total you are not Pat McGrath or Dior
I get that Fenty beauty was trying to promote earth sustainability however it’s smarter to sell the entire component as one and then the option to buy refills feels like a cash grab. Also the cases are literally made from the same reflective mirrored plastic as the tops on her lip glosses! It can’t even be high quality casing for them. So that annoyed me! I loooove fenty lip products but on a positive note I’m glad they’re FINALLY NORMAL SIZED bullets cuz how tiny the others were for $18 that was crazy to me however the colors were so unique that i got them! And fenty beauty is a midrange brand that Rihanna prided herself on it not being too expensive so that it was accessible for everyone, sooo why is she now making her lipsticks as if it’s a luxe price brand. U can’t finesse ppl like well hey my lipstick is technically $20 like the rest of my line but hey u need to still spend another $12!!! Otherwise it’ll be incomplete.

I LOVE this series....it helps the FOMO no doubt!! Don't buy the new CT cream eyeshadow....they are HORRIBLE, dry and need to be reformulated to be a bit more creamy.
HACK TEST: it would be VERY a interesting if people did an experiment with using a *light rub* of Vaseline or such to S3 Al the threading on cream products
We could all give it a try with new-opened different brands & see if it works to extend the Life of G3’s & cream pot colour cosmeticsa, without side effects

I wasn’t gonna buy it, but I sorted all my foundations and I’m using up all the older ones first that are all nearly empty and purchased the CT - OMG it is lovely. Also got the new Matte eyes to mesmerise pots and they too are my new favourite - wear them everyday. Finger application is the way to a one and done, all day wear no fuss eye shadow. In Australia Estée Lauder comes across as snobby and unapproachable. They aren’t Tom ford (ok owned by same people) or Sisley but they feel like that.

I keep changing my mind on the odens eye palette... I really don't wear eyeshadow that often for the amount I already own... but those greens are just the kind that appeal to me but don't have much similar.

@@carinam4258 I went to her pop up shop in London before Christmas and told myself one lipstick and liner only.
I might get others later but experience tells me if I buy in bulk I don't love each item as much as if I had it on it's own as the "new thing in my collection" for a while.
I had narrowed it down to a choice of three from her website, (dragon, affair and cinnebar) based on their description and swatch videos and I liked all of them but went for Dragon.
I suspect if I had Affair it would get more use as a neutral but I have Mocha by MAC which is my most used colour and is quite similar so decided if I use that up or it goes bad I will replace with Affair, no point in owning both. I just decluttered a bunch of lipsticks because I had too many and some were getting rather old.

In Chantecaille's defense, that Giraffe collection does donate to the Giraffe Conservation Foundation. But you can probably donate directly to the foundation and then all the money you would've spent on a makeup item will go to charity.
