exactly, last battlefield i truly sank a lot of hours into was 4, then BF1 was decent, but some aspects were missing, 5 was a mixed bag at best and dont even get me started on 2042, give me back my BFP4F instead of 2042...
My friends and I had so many great moments in BF2, we had our own server and hosted competitions between so many enthusiast groups. They were good times.

I saw another vid where someone was playing with a dev and they got all excited and emotional when there were 30k players so to hear that they’ve reached 90k in a little over a week warms my heart

@@danielkelsosmith A formula might exist but blending it all into one coherent and smooth game is really difficult. Then again I have no clue why something so easy to implement such as proximity VoIP is not a thing in recent battlefield games, makes for some fun moments.

That's it, I'm getting this game. I keep seeing videos of it and it just brings me right back to the early 2000s with BF2/3 and CoD4. It feels like they've captured the magic those games had somehow.

I like the bleeding because there is so many people on one map, it forces lulls in the firing for guys to heal, so it’s not as crazy as constant automatic fire from every player in the map. If that makes sense.
The bleeding makes medics even more useful because they can bandage faster, and your teammate can keep shooting while he gets bandaged
I swear the easiest exp is playing medic finding a hot spot , just staying low and healing as many guys as possible!
i though first that this mechanic is annoyting but once i thought the same as above you said that makes sens and kind of balancing the chaos.

The only thing I'm missing after finally jumping the ship from BF4 is the sounds. Everything else feels absolutely amazing.
After playing for 15 hours, my biggest complaint was the snipers sounding very quiet and muffled.
@@willjohnson1429my biggest is that waypoint and ping systems feel like an afterthought (it’s just out of early access so that’s forgivable, it’s low priority) but I rly don’t need to see where all the points are at all times on my screen, it should be a toggle or hold button to see them and show them brighter because it’s rly hard to see them most of the time (both waypoints and pings) with the current system
Sounds are straight from valve games lol that's my only complaint as well if you can even call it a complaint
Gameplay is so good that your imagination inserts the graphics.
Exactly, you just forget after awhile that’s it’s all low poly blocks. Same with other games (mostly older) if gameplay and world/environment is smooth/engaging and “believable” your brain can sorta suspend reality.
Actually, you don't need photorealistic, you just need aesthetic graphics.

The auto-rotation is a lot more realistic than getting completely destroyed from small arms fire. Very cool detail

I'm absolutely addicted to it too - this is the most fun I've had with a shooter in about a decade.
3 guys have managed what the might of some of the biggest gaming companies in the world have not been able to do.
Battlebit deserves all the success it's getting and more - gameplay over graphical realism any day of the week.
I wish these THREE devs all the success in the world. Any DLC they come out with in the future, I will be all over it. Already have more than my moneys worth

I just love that this game has contextual destruction. It's like levolution but better. You can topple down windmills and buildings and they will fall over based off of where they took the most damage
I really hope the next battlefield game does this
The destruction is great. I had a game where there was a squad camped in a roof top of a 2-3 storey brick building and I took out my trusty sledge and knocked out the ground floor walls until the whole building collapsed.
REALLY hope DICE is taking note of this game's success and they bring us another BF classic

Absolutely love it. I killed 3 snipers camping in a windmill by launching 3 RPGs at them. The permanent destruction and climbable rubble that follows is so cool.

Oh how I miss BF2. I hit sub because this is the second video I’ve watched in a row that you’ve mentioned BF2. That’s literally all I needed.
First BF game I was able to get really into. Easy to start and just run in and learn as you go, but the real highlight is the chat. So much fun just local chatting with whoever is around you in a match.
You gotta get the original Battlefield squad back together Jack! Level, Matimio, & X are all playing it!

Jack you summed up how I feel about this game perfectly. This is how I felt playing BF2 when I was a teenager 20 years ago.

The graphics, or more the art direction, is actually quite good I think. The limited lighting is spot on for colors I feel.
I think the player models could be redone in a bit less of a cartoon style and it would fit better and be less off-putting for people who are looking to take it more seriously (not myself). But I agree, what they have done with virtually no surface textures and low poly mesh in the environments is very visually appealing.
Agreed, outside of the blocky player models, the art direction is actually quite good.
Some textures have no depth and simply blends together though, especially indoors. Hoping to see better shaders but I've heard the devs wanted to update the engine, down the line.

I like the low poly graphics. One problem though is that in some places , walls , the floor and other surroundings have the exact same colour with no difference in lighting and i can't distinguish between them.
This is how you make players forget the graphics and feel a realistic immersive gameplay. Devs are doing great!
I have never seen as much unity in a massively multiplayer game until this. When I play, literally everyone goes for the revive if they can. Its like a little boost of serotonin for us when we help a brother or sister back to their feet (and then immediately die because there's some guy sniping on a hill 2 kilometers away)
I would love to see a video from you on what battlefield should take from battlebit in the next game. Thought graphical fidelity and immersion is a must for a bf game. Its part of the experience
I admit after the ridiculous playtest situtation I had little hope for this game ever coming out. but now thats it's out it has been my go to game. Kudos, Sgt. OkieDokie for the work, amazing game. deserves all the love its getting!

What was ridiculous about it? Seems perfectly reasonable given their circumstances
The bleeding and hp system in this are a great change from BF. It's amazing that you don't just regen hp and bleeding as well as necessity for a medic to heal you really impacts on your ability to push and aggressively attack. It necessitates medics, but more importantly, it forces a lull in combat if you're hit. Makes engagements less frantic, longer and requires more squad action. Basically - one small thing, but makes for much more nuanced gameplay. If I was to criticise anything, it's that medics (and engis) seem a lot more useful than pretty much any other class. Snipers are fine too, but not as ubiquitously good as medic and engi.

that is because medic is the only class that can self heal. They have access to c4 so they can deal with vehicles, the only thing medic is lacking is a way to sustain its ammunition but even then you can call a resupply, making the support class redundant.
Definetly agree that medics feel almost like a must play, and i suppose bleeding or healing would be fine but both gets annoying sometimes imo
This is how Battlefield used to work before they aimed for more casual gameplay. Jack is right, it’s like a modernized BF2.
Games like this release a nostalgia chemical in our brain, which in return makes us treasure it more. It brings back the simpler times.
I played BF2....and i was addicted to that one multiplayer demo of bf2, servers ware always packed, amazing memories and this game brings them back.

The answer to your M1 question is Yes, they do have a turbine engine. It's an AGT 1500 Turbine with an Allison Transmission capable of 70mph ungoverned on the salt flats. Typically they stay around 40mph and are approx. 70 tons of pure firepower. 120mm smooth bore main gun with 50cal coax.

I love that in Jack’s videos it feels like he’s just wandering around the map casually dropping body after body while taking in the scenery.

I love this game! It really brings me back. Played for 6 hours straight yesterday and did not think at the blockiness at all! I just had lot of fun!
one tip , especially for snipers, look at your character tab and change your chest piece, you can go from 3 sniper magazines to 7
The devs from teardown should team up with these guys. They could make some magic happen for sure

I absolutely remember BF2. I was never into video games but my brother bought a Dell and installed BF1942. It changed my life. Then when BF2 came out, it changed everything

The bleeding is really good I think, it makes medics important. Also gives you a penalty for charging in gun-ho. You take on too many enemies you need to chill and bandage before pushing on. Especially because there is no health in this game, it gives you a chance to 'heal'.

@@thomaskavanagh8540 Yeah and that's the part I don't like. If you play medic it sometimes feels like you are doing nothing else than healing and if you aren't you could walk around with half hp and not notice. Bandaging bleeding or healing on they're own are fine but both gets a bit exhausting.

This game after 30mins does the brain trick the "grafics become realistic" if you know what I mean, and the mechanics of this game are top notch. And also the proximity Chat is hillarious

2042 is a great game now, if you already own it you should reinstall. Still not quite the level of BF4 but a massive improvement over launch.
@@middaymeds Own it and while I respect DICE turning 2042 around it just doesn't touch Battlebit! I can fire up 2042 and stop losing focus after one map. Can fire up BB and have hours pass me by without even realizing I had been playing for so long. Reminds me of the BF3 days where I could go all day, that's not happening in 2042 even with the better state it's in!

Battlefield fans are weird. First everyone was praising it for improving, demanding a season 6. Then this comes a long, and now it's back to bashing it

Just bought the game, played the later playtests, but damn, had so much fun the last 2 days playing the game again. I only play one or two games a session but those matches are quality. I like playing it sparingly because it's a phenomenal experience and I'd hate for such an amazing game to feel stale for me. Still can't believe it's 3 guys, 3 people with ambition, talent and skill made what teams of hundreds fail to do. They had the community's support and 7 or so years and it shows

BF2 will live in my memory as one of the best multiplayer FPS games of all time. I remember getting the special forces expansion and how crazy night maps were and how useful the grappling hook and zipline could be. I also remember how they nerfed the miniguns on the Blackhawk to the extent that it was barely effective against infantry. Riding in the bomber seat in the F-15 was dope when you had a decent pilot. I've been assault medic main ever since BF2.
I love the bleeding mechanic. I think it controls the flow of gunfights and gameplay quite well. But while I don't know how it occurs exactly, I do think that it should maybe happen a *bit* less often. It gets annoying if after every gunfight you have to bandage again.
Stand outs for me are really fun map design, great gameplay + gameplay features (spinning heli, rappel, local voice comms, etc) and nice art direction (even though it's blocky - rain, flowers, night). They made big players and a great map mix really well. It's mix for fast gameplay with tactics is done well too... This game would definitely do well on console, just port it well and make sure there are no server issues.
Community Tested every chance i could with this game for a while! Was great 👍 👌 happy to see people loving it ❤

just get a pc, won't happen those games are too complex for console. Especially Arma, not enough buttons on a console pad to play it. 100s of keybinds needed in that game.

I can see why Battlebit hooked so many players, but me personally didn't really got into it...BUT with its squad-system, local and squad chat, bandage mechanics and big maps, it brought me back to playing Squad

I just couldn't get into it. Main issue was the movement system. To me it is just another game trying the BF formula but missing the magic that so far only BF can bring. I'm happy for the devs and everyone enjoying it though 👍

2:00 was magical to see. Used to love my copper crashing in BF3, barely surviving and then taking cover in the scrap remains
the only issue with the simple blocky graphics- it can be really hard to see enemies in dark areas with solid colors behind them.
Night maps are a little whacky especially when you’re using NVGs and someone pops 2 flares and the light is like staring into the sun, so you take off nvgs and now you can’t see anything
Bleeding is fine. Relying on medics to heal you to have any chance in the next fight is kinda annoying though.
Just play medic and you can heal yourself. It's worth.
Quite enjoying this one, too, Jack! Really keen for the new Squad update as well. Hope you check it out when it drops as it looks like some pretty major gameplay changes.

This game is everything the Battlefield playerbase ever wanted but never actually got in full.
You hit the nail on the head, feels so much like battlefield 2 but even better. You do forget the fact it does look like Roblox when you are really into the game play.
I absolutely remember BF2. So much of the audio from that game is permanently burned into my brain “Enemy Spotted!” The amazing game mechanic similarities from back in 2005 are just as great now in Battlebit and then some. I would kill to be able to have real spatial voip and dragging downed teammates around. Only thing BB is missing is the parachute and fighter jets. You don’t actually need a mini map or uav displaying player location when the map is jam packed.
