Hey. At 17:55, pause it, and enlarge the right, almost-half of the first cliff. I can see a scene of TeePees and Horses, from right to left, towards the middle, telling a story. All the way to the right, on the wall, halfway down is a huge triangle teepee with corn stalks sticking out of the top. To the left, up a step, another triangle gliff starts. Check out the triangles. Stop and look for a minute. It's only on the one side. Love what you do. That is some amazing country and a photographers dream(at least mine)! It's hard to realize the scope of that landscape on video, but when you did the drone shot of you on the ridge it really shows the scale of it all. Just astounding I say! I swear I could hear the desert birds and the distant thunder of the storm coming in with the fresh scent of sage on the breeze. The slide show at the end was some great photography too! Thanks for the ride, my man.

You remind me of a young mountain goat! My fave part would have to be the incredible colors of the sandstone, and also the ancient juniper. Its mind-boggling to think that it may have been a young tree while the dwellings were still occupied. Kudos to your parents for raising such an amazing person, and their bravery for giving you the freedom to explore such precarious places. I see a very bright future for you!

When my husband and I were younger, we too used to go exploring the desert, and would come across these stacked rock areas that I now know are ruins., we were searching for beautiful rocks, gems and minerals. thank you for sharing your adventures. have fun, but play safe, so that you can live to tell the tales....
Yes, it is interesting, because many were built under the cliff overhangs, and them some were also built on the flat shelves. This particular one had a lot of arrowhead material, so it is very possible it was used mainly by warriors and hunters to hang out.
Imagine the valley shown in your opening shot full of water to the first indent at the top. You can see the water line on the peaks across the valley, where it went sharply down. The ridge on the right was submerged under what looks like several hundred feet of water, all the landscape below was clearly shaped by moving water, standing water, water moving again, and again, as Lake Anasazi drained away, over more than three millennia, circa 2100BC to 1100AD. The Fremont People moved out onto those isolated points, for security (from others of their own kind), then down onto the cliffsides, and finally, out onto the prairies, where they became Anasazi, creating a large trading empire (all the way to modern-day San Diego), and mysteriously "walked away", at the beginning of the 2nd Millennium AD. In my personal opinion, they resumed their journey, one that had started some 4,200 years ago, on the Russian Steppes! Where they went, what they did, and who they influenced, is another fascinating story.

That structure that is away from the cliff I'd say is where the young warriors stayed to guard the cliff dwellings and scout for game.
