  • This is a faux quartz in copper and turquoise. A simple tutorial. I'm hoping to follow up with a tutorial with the scraps too.
    I hope you enjoy 😊
    Alongside basic clay tools you will need:

    *Desired cutters
    *gold leaf or colour of your choice
    *UV resin if desired or Varnish
    *small spare tile (optional)

    If you put polymer and alcohol ink in small zip lock bag you will save a lot of ink and mess. Beautiful color and earrings.

    Thank you Fi, these are beautiful and I can see how I can better attach things on the hoops. I also popped to Pound Stretcher to pick up some pads to copy your backings, much easier than sanding backs to a shine.

    These are so pretty! I make clay jewellery as gifts for family and friends, definitely picked up a few tips here! I think I prefer the finish of the gloss over the resin, but I take it the resin is more durable and the gloss could lose shine over time? I usually finish mine with the gloss, I do have some UV resin though so I'll give it a try :)

      @@clayboutique you use soo much more ink if you use paper. The tile is just keeping it moist so you can use all of the ink. The tile is just to wipe of after. You could have used 80% less ink

    • @MarikaIomaLantz
      @MarikaIomaLantz 2 года назад

      @@clayboutique nah I really dont belive you on that you use the same amount ink. You would have wasted soooo much ink. And if the tile get stained the tile isnt smooth. I do this all the time and have never got a stain on the tile plus i just need to use a tiny squirt of ink

    • @renlish
      @renlish 2 года назад +3

      @@MarikaIomaLantz No one really cares what you believe. She told you why she does what she does. The same amount of ink covers the clay. It is not being mixed into the clay, just covering it. IF it was being mixed in then yes, using a non-absorbent surface like a tile or plastic sheet would be beneficial. Sprinkling the ink around just to cover the clay will still result in the same amount of wastage. Stop telling people how to do their own work. Even if she's wasting ink, that's on her. It doesn't affect you in the slightest.

      @@renlish no I just telling people hwo sees this a better way to do it bc the ink in the tile still being wet and can be used to ink places ON the clay that didnt got ink in the "squirt" from the bottle. I watched this because I wanted to see how you made the ones that you showed on the video thumbnail. So I was fairly disappointed that you didn't show us how to do that one, but instead showed us how to do a lighter one with more white. I think in the video thumbnail, you should show the one you are actually going to be doing in the video. Otherwise you are misleading people about what they are going to be seeing. Channels that do that make me upset, because when I watch a video tutorial because of the video thumbnail, I actually want to see the tutorial for what was shown in the video thumbnail.
    However, other than that, this was a good video. I also appreciate the time and effort you put into making this video for us, so I have you a 👍, but I hope for future videos, that what you are showing in the video, matches what is in the video thumbnail.

    • @theclaysanctuary3464

      Thanks for the positives in your message. These are the same earrings, my camera does a duller video is all and doesn't show true colour.
      I mention it often in tutorials but assume you haven't watched them.
      I'll ignore the incorrect assumption and I hope for future videos you look before you leap 😉

    • @magikdust2095
      @magikdust2095 2 года назад +2

      @@theclaysanctuary3464 oh, my apologies. I do watch with the captions on and the sound off, so it's very possible that I might've missed it. However, you showed both earrings in your video, and you showed how to make the lighter one, instead of the one with more blue. You did show the one with more blue closer to the end of the video though, I was just hoping to see how you made it that colour. So, I wasn't saying the dark blue one in the video thumbnail is different than the dark blue one you showed already completed in your video, but I was saying you didn't show us how to make the piece in dark blue, because the one you showed us how to make was fairly white. Sorry for the confusion.
      I do appreciate that you showed us how to make a very similar one to the one in the video thumbnail, just in a different colour. Some channels will have things in their video thumbnail that are totally different than what they are showing in the video. That's the most frustrating thing to me.
      They both turned out beautiful though. Maybe you have already made a video on how to do the ones with more colour? I will go check, because I'd like to see that.
      I do appreciate the time and effort you put into making these videos, and showing us your work. 😁👍

      They are the same earrings in the video thumbnail and the tutorial. The ones she makes in the tutorial video look a lot lighter with more white because that’s how translucent clay and alcohol ink look before baking. Once baked the colors and clay go much darker and deeper in color.
      She’s not being misleading at all, you have just misunderstood how the clay works and reacts during the before and after baking.
