    EDIT: By the way, using the "Prevent downloads of drivers from Windows update" option when using DDU can also help
    In case this doesn't work (as stated by some) you can always force things via Group Policies as stated in this written article! Cheers

      These automatic drivers should still show up as optional updates in windows update>show optional or in device manager>device>update driver if there is no driver installed for a device yet. Please note that disabling all driver auto installation is a drastic measure, you can easily find a guide online to disable driver updates for a specific device with gpedit, please do that instead.

    It's crazy how does this still an issue. I remember the first time this happened to me, Adrenalin wouldn't work not matter what, I reinstalled it several times, uninstalled the drivers and installed it again and nothing changed. Eventually I figured out and had to download DDU to get rid of Windows' version.
    I remember this happening with Nvidia as well but GeForce still opens when it happens, Adrenalin on the other hand just refuses or crashes.
    It just seems like MS is trying to do what Linux does, which is to ship the drivers with the system, but the major difference is that on Linux the AMDGPU driver is on the kernel, and for Nvidia it's downloaded directly from the official source (which is Nvidia themselves), on the MS' side, they're downloading from their own servers which most of the time only have outdated drivers (always to be exact) or a stripped down version (no GeForce/Adrenalin support).

  • @saltesc
    @saltesc 11 месяцев назад +3

    Hello. The first step should be that users ensure they did not opt in for the Windows Insider Program.
    If they have, they need to opt out and wait for the next normal update package to come through, which will obey the update settings. If another Insider package comes up before then, it will likely cause the issue again. If they don't want to wait in case this happens, they can reinstall Windows and ensure not to opt in. If issues persist after that, your video will then help.

Stop updates in system properties. 2. Install a clean version of AMD Adrenaline?. Or : install AMD first, and then stop updates? ( because when checking Factory reset, it says the app temporarily pauses Windows updates ). I'm sorry if the question sounds banal. I'm still learning...

    As I've been building systems I've only encountered this problem when switching out GPUs. A couple months ago I could switch out GPUs, as long as I was dealing with RDNA 2, without any issues (hardware testing, non-registered Win10). After starting Win10 with the new GPU it would tell me to reboot and it would come up fine. About a month ago and ever since if I switched out a GPU, before AMD could re-register the GPU I think Windows would register it first and install drivers so they'd be in conflict with the AMD drivers. I'd have to start Adrenaline manually and then I'd get that error.
    I don't know if unplugging the LAN would help with that? What I DO know is I would have to uninstall Adrenaline and reinstall it after restarting the PC.

    As far as gpu drivers, this happened to me for the first time last month and I just rolled back the drivers but thanks to your video i can stop it quick. I ran into this problem for other things many times so not really new but has not happened often or for everything. My buddy touchpad stopped working after windows 11 updated itself and one of my work programs stopped working because windows dropped the driver I needed. So for people to say why havent AMD fixed this is kind of dumb. Windows is terrible and been bad since Win8.

    what should I do?

    Fabio, I believe it isn't necessary this action. It may happens as you say new hardware connected as a camera or a usb microphone or a wifi USB, they may miss their drivers specially if they are generic and they are supposed to use windows generic drivers.
    While I have my AMD GPU drivers windows 10 never overinstall new generic amd drivers. never. And when we install new drivers using ddu, a final easy way is to disconnect physically our internet to install drivers preventing windows try to update because it doesn't have internet, we install locallly official installation drivers.

    It would be nice if Windows just asked you first if you wanted it to update the driver when it finds a newer one and then when you click NO, it should just not ask again until an even newer driver appears in the future. Also maybe just give the option to NEVER update a specific driver and stop "harassing" you. I guess that this is just TOO much to ask of Microsoft! They have to keep ALL of their efforts on spying on us instead.....🙄😠
