Another very interesting discussion AM. Will you anytime soon work on a video discussing the PVDE/PIDE secret police in Portugal beginning with its drafting process in the 1930s till its formal end in 1974?
A former colleague of mine was Turkish with Assiriac roots; he told me once the story of his grandmother, the only survivor of her family after the Arm3nian g3nocide at the hands of the Young Turks. How often do we Western, modern, and lukewarm Christians frorget the sufferings of many of our brothers even in our times.
I agree wholeheartedly. I'm reading (too slowly) Foxe's Book of Martyrs. I would like to see an updated version that includes the entirety of the 20th century
Most in the West probably do not even know how many different Christian groups exist in the Middle East. Armenians, Assyrians, Syriacs, Copts, Arabs, etc.
Yes, there are a significant amount of ethnic Arabs who practice Greek Orthodoxy, especially in historical Palestine. Additionally, Melkite Catholics form the majority of Arab Christians in Israel and a significant minority in Syria and Lebanon.
Anyone interested in this topic should definitely read William Dalrymple’s “From the Holy Mountain.” Must-read… my prayers and my heart are with the Middle Eastern Christians. May God have mercy on them.
I came to know about this story a decade ago while doing some googling about the fate of Christian’s who once constituted a majority in the Middle East. It broke my heart.
I find this region of history highly interesting and saddening, and I appreciate the elegance of your description of the events. Also, your level of articulation is a rare gift; you have a very pretty voice.
I truly appreciate these richly nuanced deep-dives! May I suggest an episode or a series on Muhammad Ali Pasha's Egypt and the two Turco-Egyptian wars? From an Egyptian fan!
In paradisum deducant te angeli; in tuo adventu suscipiant te martyres, et perducant te in civitatem sanctam Jerusalem. Chorus angelorum te suscipiat, et cum Lazaro quondam paupere æternam habeas requiem.
The artwork may be called “Jeanne d’Arc écoutant les voix” - or “Joan of Arc listening to the voices” in English. It was painted by Eugène Romain Thirion (1839-1910).
@15:00 An age old alliance between buddhist and christians. See Sri Lanka today. Mani attempted to fuse the two. Thich Nhat Hanh attempted thousands of years later.
If you enjoyed this video, please like and leave a comment. It helps the channel a lot. Many thanks.

@@TheMiistmost everyone is. This is like hidden history. They don’t want us to know what the actual consequences of their foreign policy actions are.

You are the most well-spoken person on RUclips. You speak English beautifully, as it should be spoken, every syllable enunciated perfectly.
Great Presentation, their deaths were not in vain for many of them have partook in paradise for their martyrdom
God Bless your work
Heaven has too many martyrs. God, what I wouldn’t give for a world where justice presides.

Very sad, frustrating and infuriating.

Wow, I knew literally none of this.

I pray for our brothers and sisters still being persecuted for keeping the flame of Christ alive in that region of heretics and savages.
As I feared, your marvellous presentation is unbearable.
