- For the past 10 years we've been following thousands of people with Parkinson's, asking them questions about their diet, friendships, bedtimes, medications, and motivations in the Modifiable Variables in Parkinsonism (MVP) Study (www.MVP-Study.com).
This is a guided tour of our findings to date.
The second half of this video is a discussion that includes the names and faces of patients; that portion of the video is only available to individuals enrolled in www.Parkinson-School.com.
Information about the study and the free downloadable report can be found here: www.MVP-Study.com
Thank you for this uplifting research. And it's so practical. My husband was diagnosed a few months ago and I am slowly working on him to get on the app and help with research. I will get him there by summer!
I was diagnosed with PD in July 2023 . Last year my neurologist suggested that I install StrivePD (Rune Labs) on my apple watch to track the hours/minutes per day that I experience tremor in my left arm. I installed the app last year in July. After 3 months my average was 4 hours and 26 minutes per day and increasing by 0.5 minutes per day (on average) In October I read a book (Promise of Lithium) that describes the results of a clinical trial at the Univ. of Buffalo where PD patients took very low doses of Lithium. Not only did the patients symptoms improve but the underlying bio-markers improved as well. In October I started low dose (OTC) lithium. after 3 months according to StrivePD my daily average has dropped to 3 hours and 6 minutes decreasing by 0.3 minutes per day. Are any of your patients using StrivePD and/or taking low dose lithium ? (PS not taking levadopa)
I read the Lithium book and take a low dose,,,,but I think perhaps too low...10mg....what dose are you taking? BTW, the results of the larger Lithium study is expected in June 2025
@@chayimito18 45 mg / day. which is the dose mentioned in the book. I also had my lithium level tested several times (ULTA Labs). The reference range is 0.6 - 1.2. Before taking lithium it was
My MPH thesis was on “Lithium Deficiency in PD” Every one of my patients is tested for lithium status when they establish care at our clinic. Those that are deficient are asked to supplement.

@@lauriemischley9520 thanks for your reply. what blood level (or range) do you suggest ?
You're doing great work, thank you.
How do we enroll?

Thank you for the information. I so appreciate your passion. The one data I felt was very confusing was the consumption of beef. I know you said not to get too crazy about it, but I can’t help myself. You’re one chart shows that it’s a negligible difference if you consume beef. The rest of the data shows a significant decline in people who consume beef. Can you clarify this for me, please?
Thank you Dr. Mischley for your passion and your hard work in the fight against parkinson's.👍🙏
