How to S-Rank Dr. Kahl's Robot | Cuphead

- I take a break from bashing my head against Rumor Honeybottoms to try to give a little insight into how to S Rank certain bosses.
For the casual cuphead player trying to figure out how to beat Dr. Kahl's Robot, I hope this can give you some of the tricks I've learned. Play aggressive! Perfect your micro dodging! You can do this!

Thank you soooo much I've been fearing S ranking this guy through my entire journey because he's always been the hardest boss for me. Your tutorials are super helpful and also very funny at times lol! Also tip for people who have trouble on the bullet hell last phase, smoke bomb helped me a LOT and I even saved myself from being cornered by those electric walls by smoke bombing through them!

Hey man, I just wanna let you know that this guide helped me VERY MUCH!!! I knew I had to do a lot of trial and error but I was able to S Rank that darn Robot

havent touched this game in over a year. thought id return to S it all. got the devil , hilda berg , dr kahl and wally warbles to do. flying levels definitely my weakness
Another pro tip: the ex (not filled) can pass through the metal gates

You should actually be saving your super for when he launches his head at the end of his initial phase. You can cut phase to extremely short this way but activating it right after he launches it. 2 bullets in phase 2 and he'll be onto phase 3 in a second afterwards. Expert mode on this boss is somehow easier because of the delayed head laser.

Before the update, Kahl was one of the hardest bosses in the game. After the update, he's one of the easiest.

If you have the DLC use the divine relic but if you don't have the DLC you can use smoke bomb or coffe
I beat this dude THREE TIMES on expert. The reason for that is because I was SECONDS OFF the required time to get the s rank twice.

One question (I cannot figure it out): the BIG BOMB (the one that request 5 cards) does the same amount of damage if you direct hit your target or not or you have to specifically hit the target to guarantee the max amount of damage?
I tried to beat him on expert but I ALWAYS never defeat him in less than two minutes. I did the parry's the super meter and everything I guess I'll never s rank him :(

this is the last boss in the game i need to s rank, and when i try i always get an a+ because it takes too long. ill try the bomb thing in the second phase because the second phase lasts forever without the super

This one of the last 4 bosses I have left to S rank, and this is the only fight in the entire game that still makes me angry.

I remember the junk on the foreground would mess me up and i took damage
I remember when I first S ranked this. I was shooting at the robot's head while Dr Kahl was laughing and I said: Shut the fk up you it looks like it's been 2 years and you're still laughing ya piece of sht!
Then I beat him and I said:
Yo, I think I took too long.
And then when the timer showed up I was like: YES! YES! YES! SWEET ALABAMA MOTHER OF GOD! FRICK YOU DOCTOR!

Mate, how do you dodge the last phase man, everytime i get there with 5 lives and lose all 5 lives on it
I think they're using smoke bomb not twin hearts

Somehow I’m playing on a version where the health of the boss is pretty much doubled, and you cant parry the stupid energy things that come from the diamonds. So I guess I’m not getting S-rank today

Divine relic will be better since you get hp for parrying
Divine relic is basically heart parry charm and coffee and whetstone and smoke dash combined
I still cant beat this boss on expert why is the last part hes so tanky i hit him with 3 bombs and he didnt die then i lost its so annoying i will do everything perfect and get hit once. I love this game but man this boss dude

What charm did you use?
Smoke bomb is helpful because you get a few frames of invincibility when you go small in airplane levels. Really helps with dodging in the second phase. Otherwise coffee works well too!

What charm should I use?
I recommend coffee or smoke bomb. Smoke bomb can help you get out of a pinch but there have been a lot of times where I accidentally smoke bomb teleport into an enemy bullet because I lost where I was for a second.

@@Muffinzzzzzzzz gives you a couple of invincibility frames when entering the mini plane
I just get my super and then use it on the bottom two and destroy them both

Dr. Kahl’s robot actually isn’t as hard as people say it is. In the third phase all you have to do is just keep your eyes on Cuphead/Mugman so you know when to dodge and you eventually beat him.
Agreed! Definitely not the hardest boss on Isle 3 by a longshot
Thank you so much for this tip. Been trying for hours but couldn't even get halfway past phase 3. After looking at Cuphead himself I beat him first try!! Don't know where I was looking but apparently something so simple can make this so easy.

Dr. Kahl is the boss who is extremely difficult the first you encounter it but ends up being one of the easiest bosses once you get used to him, especially on Expert.
For Me, He's the most *easiest* out of the aerial bunch.
This is my last S-Rank to get. I have been at it all week. All that keeps me going is in ur video when u said “I believe in you!” 🥹
