Hi Ren is just as emotional if you think about it..... but definitely should have started with that. For Joe is like the ending of stuff for his friend Joe. So yeah he should started with freckled angels suicide etc. before this. 100%.
THIS... was your introduction to Ren. My lord, lol❤. Please go down the Ren Rabit hole. He saved my life. His music literally saved me from suicide. The track 'Chalk Outlines' should be your next Ren journey. .Renegades Assemble lol.
Kat - I love how you were immediately immersed in Ren's music and message. My brother died of cancer when I was 8 and you lose a part of your childhood innocence overnight when you're forced to face the harsh realities of the world. My dad also died of cancer when I was 26. Keep reacting to Ren, I know you're going to love it, he has so many subjects he touches on, many from his own personal experience. The next one has to be 'Hi Ren'!
Possibly the most hardcore introduction choice I've seen lol. Definitely a reaction though, I hope Kat comes back she is genuine and brilliant. "Hi Ren" is of course the recommendation but could be something fun like "Back on 74/Message in a bottle" (live).
Man, did you even realise what you were showing her? You played a super sad song about loss. She's clearly connects with it straight away, then you start talking about the background of the video and what's the difference between pianos and keyboards? (not to mention the phone / mic drop while she's responding) Good job staying connected to the emotion of the song while navigating that conversation Kat! 😅
Stopping at THE most raw lines for her! Dude! Thank you Kat. Ren does hit the emotional nerves. Ren lost his friend Joe when he was 20. Ren didn't think he would live to be 30. @
Just for those wondering yes there is a difference. A piano is an instrument that produces sound through hammers striking a string and a keyboard produces sound electronic means. Meaning circuits, transistors, IC chips, etc. and it can produce a wide range of sounds.
Props to Kat for making it through such a heavy song out of the blue like that. Loss is hard. While its important to talk about these things, I can't help but feel like starting with such a heavy song was a bit awkward. I'd like to see Kat listen to some of Ren's other songs like Hi Ren, Money Game 1, 2 and 3 and the Screech/Jenny/Violet trilogy.
Honestly don’t know why everyone is complaining that this is the wrong song to introduce Ren to someone. It’s one of his finest, Hi Ren is just as emotional. I’d argue any Ren song is a great introduction to Ren.
this was a mashup of verses from three songs, Su*cide, Domino and Freckled Angels, any song you pick from Ren is going to be of high quality some are heavier (emotionally) than others
@Kat-f3u I'm so glad you didn't fold with the choice of song. Ren is such a unicorn in his art. As you watch more from him you will understand why this song was not really the right starting point. However you WILL definitely connect with him just based on this great reaction you gave. Take care and hope to see more reactions from you Kat x peace and love🤎from Darren in the UK 🇬🇧
@@Kat-f3u Ren's life is full of pain and he writes a lot of songs from experience. I won't go into detail here, but he was recently back in the emergency room and will be returning for 8 months to a medical clinic in Canada that specializes in the treatment he needs. Ren also has some very serious songs that are commentaries on society, but he loves music and there are a lot that are celebrations of the art. It's good to switch back and forth so you don't equate Ren with depression. Most people nowadays are introduced to Ren with his song "Hi Ren", but it's not exactly light either. Maybe take a look at his first viral hit, a busking mashup video with his friend Sam Tompkins, "Earned It / Man's World / Falling". His song "Power", his tribute to the Australian EDM producer Fisher "Losing It (Fisher Rap Version)", his retro hip-hop tribute "What You Want", and he has some happy lyric videos like "Love Music" (Parts 1 through 4) and "Uninvited".
@@Kat-f3u Hugs. My first contact with Ren saved my life. This time last year ago I was in a very dark place. While browsing through some of the film makers pages that I follow, I came upon a reaction to "Hi Ren". It was like I had been kicked in the chest by a mule. I couldn't breath, my heart was in tachycardia, and my service dog, who had just been diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma, was licking the tears from my face. The "kick" was worth it. One 9 minute song effected my life more than years of therapy. My dog passed on my birthday less than two weeks later. I would not have made it through that, had I not had Ren and the Renegades to help me through. Watch the interview Ren did with @MindMentalHealthCharity "Behind the Song - 'Suic*de' with Ren" now, but save your next Ren song for another reaction. Something newer and lighthearted this time that shows off some of his other talents like Back in 74, or something fun and older like one of his busking videos. Then do Hi Ren and Chalk Outlines. Welcome to the world of Ren. He's dropping a new release today ;) @RenMakesMusic
Yep... Like others have said - weird way to introduce Ren. But it's a testament to Ren's ability to connect that it resonated regardless. Also a great reaction from her! Would be cool to see some other reactions from his catalog.
Bloody hell, you threw her into the deep end and left her to sink! She was clearly emotional, some empathy would have been good! You can't show anyone Ren without giving them Hi Ren. There's over 200 tracks on YT for Ren, none of which are bad, but HI Ren reveals the artist in full.
You should have given the poor girl a choice of this or swimming with sharks while wearing a blood soaked bathing suit, she probably would have chosen the latter😂 i could smell the trauma from here🤦
First of, why show this to introduce Ren! Are you mad. Definitely get her back on and show Hi Ren or something lite like loosing it, which is fun and will make her laugh
maybe set up your display before you record. why were you fiddling with the screen the entire time? also, either set the camera closer or zoom in. I would much rather see your faces rather than the stuff you keep on your shelves. hope this doesnt come off too harsh. meant to be constructive.
so joe commited suicide and then 6 months later another friend callum commited suicide there are 2 separate song there is for joe and su!cide and then callum song is called McKay
Constructive criticism.. Please offer a shred of empathy when a guest tries opening up about similar life experiences, especially about something so traumatising 🥹 Dont stop there Kat darling, try Back on '74 ❤
Dude... you picked like the saddest song possible to introduce her to Ren. She's going to be traumatized now.
It was a great song. I’m too traumatized to be traumatized by music 😅😅
Hi Ren is just as emotional if you think about it..... but definitely should have started with that. For Joe is like the ending of stuff for his friend Joe. So yeah he should started with freckled angels suicide etc. before this. 100%.
For sure that's not the song to hear first from Ren.

Well, at least she didn't start with "Kujo Beatdown" . . . 😊
My Ren acronym: Raw Emotional Narration.
At first I heard REM and thought rapid eye movement and then realized it was REN, hence the rapid bit 😅

The 2 rules to Ren. He's always walking and always compounding a fable.

Power needs to be the next one, just to bump the mood sheeeesh For Joe is deep
‘I like the scenery on this one’. Jeeez. Inane much?

YAY! anyone else get supppper excited when you get to watch someone dive down the habit hole?
Piano is a string instrument, keyboard is electronic
Loved her real reaction

New subscriber from the UK. This is one of my favourite Ren songs. Given Kats profession maybe 'Dominoes' next.

That was record in my city :) i onow exactly where. He was here for a few years for experimental medical treatments (go canada!)
A lot of people start with ‘hi ren’ but I honestly think you should start with money games.
Blue Sky in Britain and Sun Shine today. Keep the Snow over the Pond .
More Kat reacting to more Ren please ❤🩹
Why would you not start with the way most of us have, with "Hi Ren"?
Welcome to the wonderful world of Ren! After that you need to try "The Big Push" the busking band Ren was in in Brighton.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Not good bro! Unfair to Kat, all seemed a little bit awkward ❤from D in the UK 🇬🇧 ❤
It was more; the whole experience was intense with how it affected me and how much I did relate to it. I was speechless but also felt at peace.

You should have put her on humble or ocean
She should watch "Hi Ren".
Show Cat Back on 74. A brighten song.
This is a rough song to pick as an intro to Ren. He's got some heavy ones to be sure, but maybe check out "Power" to bring the mood up.

This is the first song of REN for her….not exactly a starter….REN’s story is phenomenal! Good reaction by Kat considering the depth of that one.
You really should start with Hi Ren... After all it IS an introduction...
