You have to listen to this song first because there is a story that continues from the previous album 'Save Our Lives'. And this song is an original song made by Forestella to commission Valensia Clarkson, a Spanish-born Dutch composer. He is a songwriter influenced heavily by Queen to the extent of creating a tribute album for her. This song is a utopia for humans who have developed civilization, but it may be a dystopia for nature, and contains a philosophical message that makes us think about how humans and nature coexist. For this song called Forestel, 400 tracks were completed through 17,000 recordings over 8 months. Their latest song was a new attempt and challenge in the rock opera genre. They say they were taken aback when they first heard this song. This is because of the unique melody and numerous variations. But they did their best to make this song their own style. Even though it wasn't your taste in music, I love and cherish their music. I can't wait to see what new genres and creative musical endeavors they will surprise me with.

I think that being different from all kpop songs/groups is what caught my attention in them, I had never seen a crossover quartet until now in this environment, and I only found out when they covered shape of you on these end of the year shows, it was something new and then I went to look for more about and listen to the songs ☺️

They wanted a big complex rock piece that is similar to queen's bohemian rhapsody. It's very different to kpop so for some people it takes a few listens to appreciate the song. But after replaying 3~4 times I suddenly came to love this song deadly badly. It was really indescribable experience I never had before. Still I don't understand what happened to me, just thinking this song is so magical. I think you can enjoy the MAMA cover by Forestella better, the great debut song of EXO. (Maybe you'll like their Smooth Criminal, Thriller and Shape of you, too). Forestella has an enormous playlist in versatile genres so you will be able to find out something for you from Forestella for sure ;)

However, you should keep in mind that this is not K- "P O P" as it is commonly expected. Forestella was, is and remains a classic crossover vocal group and an "exotic" in any music genre (they can't really be classified) and perhaps pioneers for new sound experiences. With focus on blending genres and styles, their trademarks are their unsurpassable vocal skills and harmonies (which often create that "harmonious" Disney feel). I can accept that this isn't for everyone and fortunately tastes are vary greatly. So thank you very much for recognizing Forestella's performance.

Try FORESTELLA's newest cover "MAMA (Original EXO) which was released at the same time as "Utopia" at turn of the year 22/23. FORESTELLA is very versatile and perhaps, you will still find access to the "Forestella style", with the excellent rendition of this legendary song.
This is not your typical track from this wonderful group but it doesn't need to be. It IS epic! A masterpiece in the vein of Dimash's "The Story Of One Sky". Great harmonies. Lyrics move us to exploration of our thoughts and abilities. I hope we get more of this. I understand the comparison to Queen and Muse but in reality, it is deeper than that! It is an art form! An expression of a thought or idea that most of us are too eager to dismiss as confusing. The truth is that this piece of art is an excellent example of creativity and expression pushing us to engage the wheels of our thoughts. Not a lot of music can accomplish this but this piece does. Not very many artists could have taken this song on in the first place. But Forstella did and it deserves at least our respect for the effort. Not for you? Understandable. But I frigging love it! For me it is also sort of difficult to listen to at first. Is it progressive rock ? I thought. However listen to it couple of times more, I am addicted to it. I believe this is kind of a rock opera which may not be your taste. But I think Forestella has various musicality which shows pop,rock,opera, kpop, musical and so on so they have performed so many events such as Mama award and other Korean tv shows. Utopia which is the 2nd part of the trilogy, starts with chapter 4 and requires at least 3 listens…that is the point they’re trying to convey. The 3rd part is not released yet. It is not a dance song, definitely not K-pop , but is conveying a particular message. They picked the composer precisely because of his influence by Queen. Please rewatch in order…I don’t care if you don’t react to it, but privately just for your own sake to understand the point they’re making. I think it would enrich you as a reactor. They thrive on the diversity in their music..it requires intense learning, researching, understanding, questioning, respecting the original intent of the song , the content, including cultural and language sensitivities in order to make it their own.
