I love how much they rearranged the song, they didn't just try to do the same thing exo did, they really made it their own
Almost all singers who have learned classical vocals reveal themselves as classical vocalists when they sing pop songs.
But in the case of Forestella, all of them can embody more than one vocal style.
They studied and practiced vocals so that they could sing both pop and classical. Ko Woo-rim and Cho Min-gyu majored in classical vocal, but after Forestella debuted, they practiced pop vocal style.kang Hyungho is a vocalist in a rock band, but after debuting in Forestella, he studied classical vocals. Bae Doo-hoon can realize musical actor vocalization and pop vocal.
They are continuing vocal training so that all genres of music they sing are not awkward. They are great practice bugs.
This is why Forestella never sounds awkward when they sing pop.
You should listen to 'Nella Fantasia'. It is the OST of the movie 'Mission' and is sung by Sarah Brightman. You can be sure that Forestella will definitely send you to heaven.

Vocal-training may be an important part of a singing career. However, MUSICAL SENSITIVITY and the ability to present oneself are just as important.
There are only 2 members of FORESTELLA classically trained (Master of Vocal Music): Ko WooRim and Cho MinGyu. Bae DooHoon ("Marc Anthony") has no vocal-training, but has experience as a musical actor. And Kang HyungHo (former chemical engineer) only had experience as a singer in an amateur rock band, He is purely autodidakt and, as all of them, a very gifted talent.
They generally make their own arrangements of songs. Technically only 2 are classically trained. Recently they performed Legends Never Die (League of Legends 2017) on Immortal Songs which kicked the original up the backside and gave it a completely different more epic feel (previously you said they should doing OST’s & this will confirm it). They most definitely should be asked to do the theme song for a bond movie. TBH react to what you like of theirs as it’s all brilliant. More please.
Actually they work with good arrangers, not only themselves doing. Of course they deeply get involving to the arrangement as they know very well what they can. They even care about the staging and directing of choreos.
No doubt they are creative artists and deligent giniuses.

Yes, you are so right. One of FORESTELLA's aims is to show that classical music in the form of classic vocals and POP/Pock can go very well together. These guys share a great passion for all kinds of music and they just do their thing. No matter what genre, style, whether mainstream or not. Each of their songs is an extraordinary experience and a banger. Enthusiasm and recognition comes from all sides. However, their special combination of colors of voices, ranges, abilities and their extraordinary musical sensitivity are probably decisive. THEIR kind of CROSSOVER and THEIR very special "FORESTELLA-SOUND" makes them a world-class vocal group, if not the best, and unbeatable.

Thanks for your fabulous reaction to Forestella again! I really like your reaction style! This MAMA was shown in the same period with their original song Utopia. (Utopia was released on 22 December, MAMA 24 Dec.) For that reason SoopByeols (their fandom name, it means forest/Soop/ + star/Byeol/ as Forestella also means the same.) focused Utopia more. But many EXO-Ls praised them like their MAMA is the best-ever cover.

Lovely reaction! Forestella are always amazing! It would be fun if you guys reacted to both their song "Save our lives" and their cover of "Nella Fantasia", and then reacted to the part change versions of the songs. It is hilarious and such a treat to see them try to sing each others parts especially Ko Woorim trying to sing Kang Hyungho's parts. It's just... priceless.

The thing with Forestella performing MAMA at this time is, the themes of MAMA really line up with Forestela's current original content. I really recommend listening to Forestella's original stuff too, btw!!
MAMA is about people living in societal dystopia, all while drowning in online drama & generally being mean to each other; forgetting to be present, in the now, and decent to each other. "Mama" is the old Korean title for royalty. It means "Your highness"; The exo members were playing visiting aliens (from EXO planet) who are supposedly asking Mother Earth (or a similar entity) if she can tell them wth happened and what went wrong.
Similarly, this past year, Forestella has been released a trilogy of tracks related to environmental conservation. They play the parts of the guardians of Fire, Water, Earth, and Air. Their track, "Save Our Lives" is a song about how they created the world & is asking listeners to love the Earth, & save their essences. "Utopia" is about the wonder and beauty of human innovation, but also the dangers of it too; how can turn Utopia into dystopia. And "White Night" is about the resiliency of the human spirit and hope. It's about how we are determined to find a way to save the Earth and regain the lost environmental utopia, forever.
So yeah, covering MAMA is very timely, for this era of Forestella!

I never heard this version performed by EXO. I went and check and although i respect the original but (I am not biased) I prefer Forestella's version more because I can see they put 1000% passion and enthusiasm into this cover. They made this cover to another level because they made it their own. Be honest, the minute Doo Hoon started, it blew people's mind already.
