glad to hear the Mortgage situation has be sorted Brian and the slap dash method of weighing the ingredients i would say is used by many people 😂😂😂it did look tasty though

      Thanks Kurt😀
Slap dash is the word. I’d just informed Rhona that we’d better bin the extra rice….seconds later I threw it all over the van while trying to put it in the bin! We’re still finding milk powder from when I opened a tin of marvel last year. I’m certain she’s booby trapping things, because obviously it can’t be my fault😀

Great news that your kids are sorted with a mortgage, onwards and upwards. 👍🏻 You can all relax and look forward to Spain now. We’ll be heading there aswell, but we live in France so not far for us to go. Safe travels.

      Thanks Ian😀
It’s a weight off of our shoulders so I can’t imagine how great it feels for them😀.
Yeah, a couple of months of chilling out is on the horizon. I think perhaps because of the distance the trip occupies a lot of our thoughts from September until leaving. In a positive way, where it something we’re working towards as the Highland weather gets worse and worse😀
      Safe travels to you also😀.
      Cheers, Brian and Rhona.

We have a van the same size and are about to travel around Spain and Portugal! Do you think its good to have this extra space? Just worried about the weight!

      Hiya😀.
Personally I wouldn't bother with it for travelling/touring. We normally only use a shelter for extended stays on a site (all being well next winter we will be on one of the sites for about 40 nights). When we tour (like a few nights on each site) we don't even take it with us.
In the UK (with the worse weather) we do occasionally thrown one up for a two or three nighter, but not in Europe. Both of the ones in the video are pretty light with a small pack size, but generally too much hassle to put up for short stays (for us at least). Hope that helps😀.
      Cheers, Brian and Rhona

      Thank you😀
Yeah, it’s lovely to see the kids with their own stuff around them again.
Of course our little house feels empty now😀
      Cheers, Brian and Rhona.

Hi Guys, a question for you. When driving to your winter stay-over in Spain, do you fit winter tyres to the van or do you take tyre socks and chains?

      Hi George😀.
We don't do anything at all. We know generally the worst conditions we will get will be in Scotland. We are always prepared to leave a day (or more) early to head for the ferry if heavy snow is forecast and would just wait for the ploughs to clear the road. Rarely, it has snowed in Northern Spain to mid Spain on the way down, but it's never been too bad. If the Ferry arrives in Spain early-ish morning mist has sometimes been more of an issue for the first hour or so of driving. It's just meant keeping the speed down a bit😀
      Cheers, Brian and Rhona.

Good to hear it’s worked out for your family and nice to see you out n about camping. A few prawns and that paella would be 😘!!!

      Hi Ruth😀
      I love prawns😀
But…I somehow developed a bit of an allergy to them in later life. One night I had some, passed out, and tumbled right off the platform in Epsom station onto the railway lines. Luckily I was with someone who was brave enough to jump down and help me back up😀
I still have them occasionally but I’m usually a bit ill later. That’s just reminded me about a Paella we had once that had short ribs in it, rather than seafood. I’ll have to figure that one out😀.
      Cheers, Brian and Rhona.
