Regards the fire door situation, I live in a split level house, it's basically a 2 story house but split over 4 levels with smaller staircases right up the centre. How would the fire door problem be overcome in a situation like that in order that a clear protected path be provided right from the loft to nearest egress on what is effectively the second story? Would it just be a matter of fitting fire doors on any door that is staircase adjacent? Interesting video, thanks.
A couple of inaccurate comments from the video. 50 cubic metres permitted allowance is for detached houses. Semi detached and terrraced houses have a smaller allowance. And not all loft conversions require a party wall, specifically if it is a detached house.
