The live version of this tune from "On Your Feet Or On Your Knees" is a must listen!

Finally someone reacting to something other than “don’t fear the reaper” and “Godzilla”. BOC has a host of under rated awesome songs.

Among the group of friends I had at the time this band first broke, it was understood that Blue Oyster Cult did songs like this with tongue-in-cheek. Their whole persona of being a "Cult" was satire, making fun of the whole "It's the devil's music!" hysteria by doubling-down with satire like this song. I got that feeling about the song from their live album "On Your Feet or On Your Knees", that the song was not to be taken seriously at face value. Now, we certainly could be wrong...I really never dove into their personal stuff...I just loved the music. But I have listened to this song literally hundreds of times and I don't feel I'm any closer to the devil than the next guy.

I am a Christian in that I do believe the Jesus is my savoir and died for my sins. Having written that BÖC is one of my top three bands. I'm 60yo, and I've always liked music groups that challenged my intellect. BÖC does not spoon-feed ideas.

I do like the first three albums from BÖC as they are dirty and grungy.

Great pick from their hammer-hard black & white era. Now you know why they, at that time, we're called "The American Black Sabbath". But you strike me as a more melodic soul. Try the studio version of "I Love The Night" from their Spectres release. You'll find it is as different as day & night from "7 Screaming Diz-Busters".

The dark occultic presentation was just their schtick, they didn't take it seriously. Unlike others like the Led Zeps who were into satanism. They were sophisticated Long Islanders after all and absolutely first-rate musicians, especially Buck Dharma ( I think his real name was Don Roeser) on guitar. I wore this out on vinyl back in the day

It took the longest time for me to figure out that dissonant riff that drives this song on guitar! I still haven't figured out what a "diz-buster" is, though!

The guys are in BOC are just telling sci-fi horror stories. It’s just entertainment. I promise you they are not evil or satanic it’s all just a show for entertainment purposes only. It’s like going to see a horror flick or reading a book like Dracula. Nobody accuses Bram Stroker or Stephen King as being a Satanist. Great reaction video Props for doing not only BOC but an obscure song of theirs!😊

Hey Biz, I thought I'd drop off another song by a duo that I believe you've reacted to before and seemed to like, in case you're interested. "Loggins And Messina - Your Mama Don't Dance (Live)" (by the channel: nyuv02) --This song is from the bands 1972 self-titled album called "Loggins & Messina" and reached #4 on the billboard pop charts. Hope everything is going well for you, brother. Thanks for sharing
