A lot of players put extremely overpriced items in the black marcket as a joke, and the hacker with infinite bits buy them all. So, a lot of non hacking players had an immense amount of money for food and drivers, which made the pvp extremely unfair
Yeah, and the problem is not only that. All those players that got huge amount of bits could just buy other people's drivers with them and then the chain ends up becoming untrackable.
@digimoncompetitive that was commented in the devs stream when they were explaining the issue and why they were forced to the open beta status and do the resets
First of all I have discovered this channel and the content is great!! Im on the same boat as you, a reset is sad but now I can test everything i want!
I'm personally fine with it as it should re-stabilize everything. Plus, I now know how to unsoftlock myself and even avoid softlocking in the first place after several days of learning so the post-reset experience should be significantly smoother for me. But I'm prolly not gonna play until it's all done and over with, really.
The disconnects now are because the servers can't handle the amount of players, they surpass what they expected and can handle, so there is no solution right now on their hands regarding that sadly, they suffer from success, which can turn into failure... Sadly.
idk i'm conflicted, i'm going to hate losing my progress so far and have made pretty decent bits thanks to rng being in my favor early aswell. it does severely bum me out so i'd probably wait til after this reset to see if it does actually fix anything in the end. seems like this guy who has a grudge probably won't stop after a reset if they are just following this dev team around anyways.

No online game ever allows you to register without an email. However, emails and passwords are completely encrypted in the database, so even I as the dev can't even know what your password is. Leaving that aside, the hacker is just doing DDoS attacks against the server through a decompiled and modified executable of the game, he has no access to the server itself, but is making sure to saturate it so it keeps collapsing.

Same. I'm not looking for a competitive PvP experience. I wanted a fun little V-Pet raising game with some side content to do. I guess I'll go back to Digimon World 1, Re:Digtize, and Next Order.
EDIT: There has already been a mention of the need of a hard reset of the game server in the last dev Discord post. I'm leaving my original comment below for reference. Can you please add the reference to the original source of the announcement? I've been browsing both the Discord and also the Re: Live and Alice Studios RUclips accounts and there isn't any "official" statement about any reset 🤔 The last "official" statement just informs that the servers would be updated to cope with the increased traffic due to the success of the game. Thanks a lot for your work and support 😊
@@digimoncompetitiveA little update, the hard reset announcement was partially made during the last dev post on Discord. Hope we can finally know the exact date when said reset will be performed. Best regards 😊
It's sad to see how all the hard work of so many people gets undermined by a few resentful individuals who spend their time gaslighting just because they disagree with one team member's opinions, going as far as spending the entire New Year trying to sabotage the project.
Any idea when the reset is supposed to happen? because I checked the discord and saw diddly zilch on when it's actually happening, maybe I just don't know how to discord though
Aah damn, I should have expected something like this to happen. Oh well. I've not got anything more than a Numemon yet, so all I'm losing are the stockpiles of acorns and vegetables I have.
I think for the longevity of the game this is a good step. I haven't really been able to play much anyway as it won't run on my tablet. It runs fine on my PC, but it is not as intuitive for me to just play a bit every now and then on my PC. So I'll be waiting for that fix anyway.
It's very sad, I've always been annoyed by the Digimon community, they take such silly things like Bandai's voting so seriously to the point of trying to inject malware into the game server because they don't like one of the developers. (Specifically because he campaigned for Minervamon to win the X digimon vote 9 years ago). The current problems that the game has are mostly due to hackers, like not being able to do PVP, because they make DoS attacks generating false battles on the server that end up saturating it, the same with the game's economy that was done on purpose. It's very sad to see the selfish way these people tend to think and act. About the hard reset, this is not only necessary, but most likely it won't be the last one, the devs said that with the arrival of 1.0 there would most likely be another one, but it will surely depend on how stable the game's economy is by the time it finally comes out.
If they do a hard reset I don't know if I will come back. I love Digimon and wanted to give this a go, but the always online thing (and I getting "disconnected from the server" a bit too often), the fact you have to wait around real time to do anything with your Digimon including letting him rest, and no explanations to get started... I really don't like this fan game. They need a PvE mode for the winrates needed to get certain Digimon instead of the Ranked Matches. I can't see myself winning with my current Digimon and searching the web to look for fights doesn't go into the win rate count even when I win. It's frustrating. I rather play Digimon World 1 again... and I might do with the new Vice mod... as that game is also the V-Pet simulation with more options and being proactive with your raising your Digimon.
I think at the end of the day you gave it a shot and it just wasnt for you. There are a ton of things I would change personally too but im fine with just casually gathering resources until I want to push for a specific mon. What I really like about this game is that you DONT need to play all the time. Maybe check your garden once a day if you can but if your mons dies there isnt really a punishment. From what ive seen people are approaching it like an actual main series game and trying to optimize and grind everything and thats just not how this game was intended. Digimon World 1 sounds much more up your alley and thats 100% fine :)
@@digimoncompetitive Yeah. It's more I prefer engaging my Digimon, then just doing a little here and not coming back to it hours later. Especially if I forget and I have to start over again. That won't fix the problem. For those who don't know, some members of the Alice studio are known in the spanish-speaking community for being quite confrontational and toxic on the internet. such a big issue and what i think is a bigger issue the 20 hours time for training when your digimon dies when you even go to sleep why not just put the basic mechanic that if you reach max life time it goes back to egg form and takes a % of the stats increase the time at adult and decrease the time as rokie because is frustrating you go to sleep and your digimon died you jump from 20 mins to 20 hours thats not realistic just put it 8 hours that way the digimon evolves before dying and increase the adult lifetime and if it dies for real dies doesnt take any % of stats
