Yes, lower the water speed or movement in the tank, more subtle movement of water is better. Bettas natural habitat is is nearly still water in the rice patty fields in Asia. And please tech temperature. While u adjust the two factors I addressed; lower the lights to allow your betta to relax and adjust accordingly. Ps make sure your lid is secure. I have had bettas that swim that way and then jump out. Lastly. If your worried about slowing down water movement you can turn the filters so they point in a way that won’t upset your betta. Oh oh and add a tiny air stone with an air pump. This way you feel better about oxygen levels in the water. Which will naturally relax your betta they love them!!!!
@@zeehhuff8269 no that temp is completely fine. I suggest dimming the lights (if they are really bright) getting some stress coat by API to calm him down, and if you want you can get some Indian almond leaves. They make the water brown to mimic their natural habitat and make their immune system stronger and help their Heath overall. I would add more plants too so he doesn’t get bored. Some floating plants won’t hurt either. It can also be too much ammonia or nitrite.
They're very social fish, so it may just be reacting to seeing you. They also do this to tell you they're hungry or just wanna play and expend some energy.
Hi everyone, it is with a heavy heart that my betta fish Calcifer passed away in October of 2022. He developed a fungal infection after an injury in the tank (the diagnosis was hard to determine) that was not responding to any treatment. Because of this, I decided that he should no longer feel the pain he has to deal with. He had lived a good long life and it was not easy to make the decision. To this day, I miss him so much. I appreciate those who have commented lately. In the future, if I consider raising another betta, I will utilize the advice :) Thank you, Ellie
Seems like he's fine, maybe a little excited to see you standing in front of him. If he's glass surfing like that too often then check the Temperature in the water, maybe it's too hot or too cold. Bettas do better when the water temps are between 76 to 80 degrees.
Is not enough hiding spots on the floor (such as plants or caves making it easier for ur beta to hide) also oxygen cycle is super important. You can always get a water test kit to see if there’s a chemical problem. (Some plant take too much of one chemical in the water so u have to buy add in nitrogen) also i Suggest lowering the light
I just changed our 2 Bettas into there new tanks (we were the fools that were told the small container "tanks" they sell at the pet store would be fine) anyway doin research learned , big no, so recently got 2 1.5 gal tanks (I knw, still not big enough ) ... We are working on that and do 0lan on getting bigger when we can ..... However one of the fish see to be swimming like crazy and going at the tank walls as if he sees his reflection or something. He didn't do this before ! Is there something wrong ? Also second question, we were told that the water conditioner helps the water ... Is this true????
How's it going? We just purchased one Betta and also thought the bowl would be big enough. The Petco worker told us to use spring water and water conditioner.
But yes, does look like it's fighting the current. Mine hates the filter. He gets angry at it, actually, and confronts it.

I did baffle the filter, the lid is secure, and the temperature is 78-80 degrees

@@Anyssa1x aw crap! I’m planning on getting more hides for my fish friend and his water parameters are good.
Any water changes?
Low cirrent, warm water and decorations will keep him happy, thats glass surfing, its a sign of sadness, boredom or anxiety

Mines has hiding spots but doesn't use it
MINE IS DOING THE SAME THING
He might be stressed😞
Oui, le filtre est trop fort. Il n'aime pas le mouvement de l'eau.

Ma Betta nage comme ça quand un escargot parasite, un peu gros se trouve sur la vitre. J'aimerais qu'elle le mange. Mais non.
