I've been doing some early Christmas shopping and trying to find some board games my siblings my like, and let me just say: your videos are amazingly helpful. Thank you.
That initially was my response as I'm just viewing it for the first time. Līga sent a media release 2 me and since I'm into BIRDS & live in Chicago where it's cold, seems natural enuf! R U going to attend Chicago Toy & Game Fair this weekend, Tallen? Certainly is the PLAY-ce 2 B!
I still think your vocabulary is fantastic. I could listen to you reading an encyclopedia. You should read books for a living. Cute game. I think I’ll get it! Thanks!
I just read an article where it was said that this game just got an international award as the best game of the year. That's why I got interested in it and looked for more info about it. This is how I found your video. Very good one. Thank you very much! You are doing a very good job! Kids need to go back to board games instead of video games.
We missed out on this, but found out the company was making a new game and backed it on KS. It's like robot animals versus animals. :) I'm really looking forward to it. The only trouble will be, if the pieces flip off the table, our dogs are gonna......well.........
My wife looooves penguins. This will end up on our shelf eventually, lol Also, once I heard "ice cool" as "high school" I couldn't unhear it, and I had to assume it was intentionally clever (like Isle of Trains)
Hi!! We just played this yesterday (major fun btw) and have a couple of doubts: 1) Are the penguins allowed to move in any direction of the board or only clock wise? 2) what happens if catcher goes out the board in one flick but in the way touched a runner? Is the touch valid? I'll wait your appreciations on this, Thanks! 😊
If your penguin lands in the gal between rooms you don't collect the fish as you didn't pass thru the doorway. However, when it is your next turn you get to choose which room you put the penguin in before flicking it, right?! If you choose the room which in effect has you passing thru the doorway, can you now take the fish?
3:33 Of course, that shot had to be allowed! Because, by God, how the hell was that even humanly possible! Okay, penguinly possible, sure, but... again, what the hell was that?!
Hi Roze, can you give me a time stamp to the section of the video you're asking about? I shot this long enough ago I'm not sure which rule you're referring to.
just picked this up last night and it was a blast. one rules question for you though. what happens when, say, the yellow player knocks the red player into the catcher? does the catcher receive the red players ID (assuming it hasn't already been collected)?
If another player, during their turn pushes your penguin either completely through a door with your fish token on it or into the Catcher, you resolve all the effects as well. This means you would take off your fish token and get a card for being pushed through the door or lose your ID card for being pushed into the Catcher. Your penguin remains in the new spot after being pushed.
This game looks fun. And that shot at 3:25 was insane! Nice flick, Rodney!
Dude got Skilss !!!!
1:46
"...and return the blue player components to the box!"
So... return it to the middle of the game? Hahaha

That's so nice to hear! Thanks Michael.
Penguin High School = Penguin Ice School = Penguin Ice Cool, get it? Looks like fun!
That is amazing. You just made this game twice as good for me.
Mind. Blown.
That’s actually the point of the name
👏👏
So, I guess since I collect Penguin memorabilia and board games, it's a no brainer that I need to get this game...
Might be a good match!
3:30 WOOOOOWWWW
Close one!
Thanks Rodney, great as always.
Very kind of you to say - glad you enjoyed!
My favorite part of this game is the board.
Pretty unique, right?

Cute game. I think I’ll get it! Thanks!
Thanks Dan :)
Thanks for the Tutorial ! 👍🏻❤
You're welcome 😊
Brian Gomez is a pseudonym for four guys from Latvia who made this game. Proud to be Latvian. :)
I didn't know that - very cool!

Thanks for the kind words Sanda :)
i am
Latvian :)
Perfect explanation as usual, Rodney. Thank you! You gotta explain how’s the heel you flicked that penguin! I suck at that!
Many, many, many takes!
Pretty neat looking game!
Such a fun game!
Hope for a play through looks fun
Whoo! Nice shot! You must be a real beast at billiards, I bet.
I did have the benefit of being able to try a couple takes here :)
Rodney, ur the best!
Thanks Anthony!

That robot version looks wild!
What's the name of the game?
@@TheRealSdog Iron Forest! It isn't out yet.
@@teejleague3838 thanks. Iron forest looks pretty neat
My wife looooves penguins. This will end up on our shelf eventually, lol
Also, once I heard "ice cool" as "high school" I couldn't unhear it, and I had to assume it was intentionally clever (like Isle of Trains)
I have to assume so - I'm still surprised I didn't make the connection sooner :)

1) Any direction.
2) The touch is still valid!

However, when it is your next turn you get to choose which room you put the penguin in before flicking it, right?! If you choose the room which in effect has you passing thru the doorway, can you now take the fish?
You only get a fish if you pass through the door as a part of the flick itself. Hope that helps!
Awesome
3:33 Of course, that shot had to be allowed! Because, by God, how the hell was that even humanly possible! Okay, penguinly possible, sure, but... again, what the hell was that?!
A rare talent. I try not to talk about it... ;)
Just imagine if he can pull off that shot, what kind of shot his son can do.
Haha, this game looks awesome!
Glad you enjoyed :)
Looks pretty cool to play
this game looks pretty cool (''how original'')
Nicely done!
Cool!
Ice Cool!
It took me way too long to get the joke of the name. Icecool = Highschool
(me too :) )
I may have missed it. What is the purpose of the fish tokens? Do you only collect cards if you get tokens?
The runners gain a card when they collect their token. One of the ways the round ends, is once a player has caught all their own fish.
Hi! Must the catcher move only clockwise as well or is he allowed to move any direction/cut off corners to catch other penguins?
Hi Roze, can you give me a time stamp to the section of the video you're asking about? I shot this long enough ago I'm not sure which rule you're referring to.
Ice cool, HIGH SCHOOL-
Yep!
If going over a wall is considered legal movement, does that mean the penguin school doesn't have a roof?
I guess not - must be fun when it snows!
just picked this up last night and it was a blast. one rules question for you though. what happens when, say, the yellow player knocks the red player into the catcher? does the catcher receive the red players ID (assuming it hasn't already been collected)?
Yep!
What if your penguin is in a doorway and on someone else's turn they knock you fully through, do you collect your fish?
If another player, during their turn pushes your penguin either completely through a door with your fish token on it or into the Catcher, you resolve all the effects as well. This means you would take off your fish token and get a card for being pushed through the door or lose your ID card for being pushed into the Catcher. Your penguin remains in the new spot after being pushed.
I like
Thanks for checking it out!
for a moment I thought it'd be a game about hockey...
I see this game isn't available yet. Did the publisher give you a release date? This is one I think my girlfriend would enjoy playing.
Available at Miniature Market & Amazon. Got my copy 3 days ago and looking forward to getting it on the table.
Did you end up trying this one?
Why are you playing it counter clockwise?
Not sure which part you're referring to, but this looks clockwise to me: ruclips.net/video/kc9NbmgGyPY/видео.html
You should play this
Might be a fun one for our live gaming marathon.
How do you flick over the wall I can’t
It can be tricky!
2:20 do they seriously expect us to go to Antarctica or something
Internet!
If the catcher hits me and I hit him after,do I get my ID back?
No - if a runner ever hits the catcher, you must give your ID to them.
did u just realize it actually says "ICE SCHOOL" when you read the name of the game together
Cool, right? :)
did you just make a pun by saying cool. ice!!
yup
That is hard
Did... Did You just said that it is designed by "Brian Gomez" instead of "Brain Games"?! :D
I believe I said it was "designed by Brain Gomez and published by Brain games".
Your penguin flicking skill blows me away. Did it take you several takes to get the turn and jump correct or are you just that good?
I'm not bad, but for some of these examples, I did some extra takes :)
What if a player hits the Catcher during a player's turn? (Flicking their penguin into the Catcher)
They also have to give up their ID card to the Catcher. This is explained here: ruclips.net/video/kc9NbmgGyPY/видео.htmlm11s
Rodney totally explained that in the video.
