fun fact, Imperobator isn't a dromaeosaur at all, it's a paravian, notice how it doesn't actually have a sickle claw too

      Imperobator at the dromaeosaurid meeting:
There is one impostor among us..

Yeah although I haven’t studied this genus before I could immediately tell it wasn’t a member of dromeosauidae or troodontidae due to its head shape, lack of a pronounced ‘sickle’ claw and it’s coat being rather more like shaggy fur than the more complex feather structures present in even the most northernly dromeosaurs. Plus the stance they took when the hunt failed seemed odd for a dromeosaur although not out of the question. It’s amazing what detail they put in!

yeah i notice that because they don´t have the particular claw of the dromeosaurid, that was the cause of convergence evolution... right?

Dromaeosaurs are paravians too, alongside all birds, but Imperobator is not part of those groups, rather a lineage that branches off.

@@adannojaeger7275 yes, Balaur bondoc is an avialan (maniraptoran more related to birds than dromeosaurs) with two sickle claws. They previously thought as dromaeosaurids too.

Personally the most anticipated creature of this season and it didn’t disappoint.

I'm just disapointed that they didn't point out in the show that Imperobator was its own genus, instead of some random dromeosaurid

Imperobator and other paravians like Balaur Bondoc usually always confuse me first time I look at them because with that body plan I always expect a dromaeosaurid or troodontid dinosaur but they're not, hence the lack of a sickle claw. Balaur Bondoc had two sickle claws but they were not used in hunting but rather they were used in possibly arboreal living

Interestingly its quite a basal Paravian by the looks of things, so I wonder if thanks to its position on an island, an older lineage was able to stay around longer and become a large predator? Of course the gigantism is seen on other islands, but the old lineage remaining to a later date is also seen in many of Hateg's dinosaurs.

On the same way as you do in this form, it's coverage and promotion for the second season, you need to understand that I don't want to have trouble from copyright infringement.
