    Hi Sierra & Billy, very cool video, since we purchased our Corsair 880, we added a Rainman portable water maker to the boat, our is powered by a Honda engine, it's been averaging about 37 gph of fresh water, it's so nice to get a fresh water shower, Julie's not to keen on the salt water shower. Our next item we are adding is some form of portable air conditioning,.for weekend cruising I think something like a swamp cooler might fit the bill, we have an ice maker on board so ice would not be a problem and if its to hot we well just keep our asses home in our condo in Key Largo and suck up the Central AC

    Looked like a fun day(s) sailing, The really nice thing about a sailboat is that you don't have to make reservations at a campground, just throw out the hook. Keep the good stuff coming guys.

    I'm not a sailor but this trimaran excites the HECK out of me! ... every time I see it cuttin' thru the H2O. Thanks for including the audio of surrounding environment, also! :D I'm not a big 'looped-music' guy so I love to hear what you are actually experiencing - boats, trains & planes included lol

    You guys are living my dream. I chartered a 30 foot Hunter in 1990 from Florida Yacht Charters and Sales and took two weeks, sailed from Miami to Key West, and back. Learned what Fantasy Fest was all about, beat myself up tacking on the way back in 30 knot North East winds in Hawks Channel. It was so rough that the goop on the bottom of the fuel tank killed our fuel filter. Lesson Learned: Bic Pen works fine as a stop-gap replacement for a gummed up fuel Filter. Not recommended for long motor life though…

    Have enjoyed your videos. I am a F28R owner and would like to pass along a tip I figured out in the Sea of Cortez. If the swells are bumping you and your main around, rig a preventer from the down wind ama to the main. Not having the main flopping around in swells makes the ride more comfortable.

    If you pull on the traveller on the leeward side it will help stop the flogging of the mainsail in those confused seas. You obviously need to release during the jibe but it also helps manage the mainsail when jibing. Centreboard vibration that's when you know you're really cooking along.

  • @gnevesd
    @gnevesd 3 года назад

    On my old F24, we used to strap the main (sheet in almost all the way) right before a jibe. After the turn is complete and the kite has come across you can adjust the traveler and ease the main back out. Less wear and tear on the boat. Keep up the cool videos.

    • @Tulasendlesssummer
      @Tulasendlesssummer  3 года назад +1

      generally we do the exact same thing but when the wind is pretty light I’ll just handle the main sheet across and absorb the pull on the other side of the jibe. Not something I would recommend to anyone but it works fine in light winds and you don’t have to sheet in and out a ton of line

    Billy, when you are “Surfing the tops of the waves” if you are in the Gulf Stream that is one of the most favorable places to be speed wise for a sailboat. You were capturing the energy of the 1)Wind and 2) Current of the Gulf Stream. No wonder you showed up to Biscayne Bay So quickly!

    The hum is from the wind caressing the rigging like guitar strings .... it's a magical part of sailing!

    • @Tulasendlesssummer
      @Tulasendlesssummer  3 года назад +1

      On Adrenaline we had that but not on this boat. It’s a slightly different hum and most definitely from the daggerboard and/or rudder. It’s subtle but if it’s not subtle you can sand a 45degree angle on the trailing edge of the boards to reduce it.

  • @adamperry-pelletier3633

    On the high speed runs with the kite up, you three (dog included) should have life jackets on. If anyone falls over, the boat continues blazing downwind gaining distance from MOB quickly. Then only one left on to singlehandedly get the chute down. By that time, you're 1/2 mile away and will slowly sail close-hauled to point of incident, from where the person may have drifted significantly. From experience, I know it's 45 minutes to an hour in the water waiting for single-hander to return to scoop you up under high-speed conditions.

      It would be shadowed by the main if the main was up. Plus these boats sail much quicker vmg’s on hotter gybing angles if you keep it planing. Something we were t doing a great job at during the beginning of the video because the wind was a bit light
