  • I'll be attempting my first Slackware install. If it goes well, I'll be installing it on hardware and beginning my long term review of Slackware 15.

"This stream will run for about an hour like normal", "today we will be installing Slackware"
    Pick one.

well done Matt in spite of the bad start with the first setup you keep your head and made the right choice selecting sbotools to install software. The building of audacity seemed to take forever, finishing the video with an install of i3-gaps and alacritty plus running the xwmconfig tool was a very good introduction for new users to get started. Looking forward to your one week review of living in slackware.

LOL,yeah, building audacity on a 4 core VM was not a good idea. Don't know what I was thinking.

Looks like he never did the Slackware review.

@@folksurvival No. Just this week June 23 he has gone ahead and installed Debian Bullseye for a one month review. In a Debian vs Slackware choice he choose Debian. Came back to this video to refresh myself on what he said. Hopefully in the next couple of months he will see some sense and do a proper review of Slackware.

First I have enjoyed your linux videos, Long time ago, I remember downloading about 20 or so Slackware 3.0 floppy images, and imaging the floppys (One Day), Loading those floppy's onto a Pentium 100 computer (Another day). Getting (PPP) dialup to work (6 months). Nice how you were able to get the slack packages integrated, best I've seen of Slackware. I don't use Slack anymore, but still.......Nice Job. :)

lol I feel better now with my recent slackware deployment. Still not sure why I'd choose that over current

This comment may be late but to get a gui login manager you have to edit with /etc/inittab

I (for real) checked the "terse" option once in 1996. If I didn´t cancel it, I´m sure it still wouldn´t be done.

Yup, you've got to have some patience for that.
